Here are some new pics from the upcoming sequel Iron Man 2.

Marvel’s set visit article describes a scene where Tony is “looking down at a scale model of the Stark Expo, which closely resembles the New York World’s Fair Pavilion. This included a Unisphere at the center of the convention. As the camera panned from the level of the model towards Tony looking inquisitive at the Stark Expo, he spoke to himself, “The key to the future is…where?”.” Marvel also witnessed Downey filming another scene where Tony was investigating further into the “main pavilion of the Stark Expo”, reconstructing “the main pavilion by enlarging and relocating structures with his hand motions,” with the help of Jarvis in his workshop.

It’s hard to get too exited about this movie since it won’t be out until next summer, but it does look good so far.

Steven Spielberg is set to direct his next film, and it’s a remake of the classic film Harvey.

Steven Spielberg has committed to direct, as his next film, “Harvey,” an adaptation of the Mary Chase Pulitzer Prize-winning play about a man — played by Jimmy Stewart in the 1950 film version — who befriends a 6½-foot-tall invisible rabbit.

Spielberg aims to begin production early next year, so the helmer is expected to reach out to a handful of top stars, most notably Tom Hanks and Will Smith, to find someone whose availability meshes with the planned start dates.

The original Jimmy Stewart version is one of my absolute favorite old films, I wonder who will be cast as the lead in this one.

Who would have guessed that Eli Manning could surpass his brother, Peyton Manning on the pay scale?  Well, he just did.

The New York Giants have given Eli Manning a 6 year extension for $97 million.  Wow.  That’s a lot of green.  But apparently the franchise thinks Eli is worth every penny,

“He is a franchise quarterback,” Giants general manager Jerry Reese said Wednesday. “He has done everything we asked him to do. He has come in, taken a lot of flack from you guys (the media) and he just keeps going. He does what we ask him on the field and he does what we ask him to do off the field. He is a good football player.”

Congrats to Eli Manning.  That is one sweet deal you just landed.  Woo hoo!  This gets me pumped up for football season!  It’s starting this month!

The new comedy Funny People was #1 in the box office this past weekend (Jul 31 – Aug 2), Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince stayed at #2. The only other newly opening film that landed in the top ten was Aliens in the Attic which landed at #5 with $8 million. Orphan slid dramatically to #6.

Here’s the first official poster for the upcoming film Avatar which reveals the face of the character Neytiri.

Opening in conventional 3D theaters and IMAX 3D on December 18th, the film co-stars SamWorthington, Sigourney Weaver, Michelle Rodriguez, Giovanni Ribisi, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Peter Mensah, Laz Alonso, Wes Studi, Stephen Lang and Matt Gerald.

Avatar is the story of an ex-Marine who finds himself thrust into hostilities on an alien planet filled with exotic life forms. As an Avatar, a human mind in an alien body, he finds himself torn between two worlds, in a desperate fight for his own survival and that of the indigenous people.

Looks like an animated film to me. I really hope this movie is good, I’m over the hype. James Cameron has a lot to live up to with this one.

Paramount Pictures is keeping the critics from seeing G.I. Joe early.

“G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra” opens Friday, but Paramount Pictures isn’t screening the blockbuster for critics beforehand. Only a select few writers from blogs and movie Web sites have seen it for review – such as Harry Knowles, the self-professed “Head Geek” from Ain’t It Cool News – and their opinions have been mostly positive.

Instead, the studio says it’s intentionally aiming the movie at the heartland, at cities and audiences outside the entertainment vortexes of New York and Los Angeles. Paramount held a screening Friday for 1,000 military service members and their families at Andrews Air Force Base; it’s also focusing marketing efforts in places like Kansas City, Charlotte, N.C., and Columbus, Ohio.

While appealing to a sense of patriotism nationwide, the plan also is inspired by the disparity that existed between the critical trashing “Transformers: Rise of the Fallen” received and the massive crowds it drew at the box office.

This just proves that they know the movie is bad, but regardless it’s going to make a lot of money. I used to like G.I. Joe as a kid, so I’m inexorably drawn to it.

Vanessa Hudgens isn’t very smart or perhaps it’s just that she’s not classy.  Her timing is very interesting…..these leaked nude pictures of her are just in time for her new movie,  Bandslam premiering in a week.  Coincidental?  I think not.

I do believe this girl thinks the only way she can land a role or get the attention she so desires is with her naked body on display.  I have no respect for her.  Vanessa needs a reality check and quick before the next “leak” occurs.

If the rumors about Bounty Hunter co-stars Jennifer Aniston and hunk of the week Gerard Butler are true, she better start looking elsewhere for lifelong love.    He says he’s a total commitment-phobe!

“I live very much in my own head and I don’t always like that somebody else is playing such a big part in your mind and your psyche. It’s tough to deal with that vulnerability because I still have that element of ‘I can’t do this! I can do this on my own! I’m all right! — and then suddenly, someone holds this power over you.  Men are much more weak and vulnerable than they let on. I am full of phobias about commitment. Yet, when you break through those barriers, it’s great.”

Sounds to me like he’s just waiting for the right woman to come along and “break those barriers.”  I can think of a few who would volunteer themselves for the job in a hot minute!

Gossip Girl‘s Leighton Meester appears on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar for September 2009.  She is really channeling a Julianne Moore vibe, don’t you think?

Leighton addresses the sex tape, supposedly starring her, that surfaced last month.

“[The tape] is not real.  So it makes me sort of sad. It’s unfortunate that it got carried as far as it did. I definitely understand the nature of people better now and that the mere allegation of something like that could be headline news. People think it’s real because somebody says it is. By the way, [as for] me being 18 in those pictures, I don’t believe I was.”

Is she trying to tell us that the pictures are for real, but the tape is a fake?  Why deny one but not the other?
