Elton John and his partner, David Furnish won’t be able to adopt 14 month old Lev as they had hoped.  The Ukraine does not recognize same sex marriages and requires that the adoptive parents be married.  On top of that, Elton and David are too old.  The maximum age limit is 45 years old while David is 46 and Elton is 62.

I feel bad because I know that they really had their hearts set on this adoption.  I hope and pray that another loving couple will come along soon that is qualified to adopt little Lev.  It takes a certain kind of love to adopt an AIDS infected baby.
