Boring New ‘Avatar’ Viral Site Launches

avtr1avtr2

The upcoming film Avatar from James Cameron has a brand new viral site called AVTR.com.

Coca-Cola Zero has launched a new viral site for James Cameron’s Avatar on the “AVTR Program.” The site atAVTR.com gives you daily insight into the anthropological, biological and cultural advances the characters in the movie are making on the planet Pandora. The site says that Pandora “represents great hope for humankind.”

The site includes concept art, Twitter and Facebook links, the daily Blog and a video intro of Stephen Lang as Colonel Quaritch (using a sound bite you’ll hear in the movie when Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) first gets to Pandora.)

To me the site is a bit lackluster, considering how technologically advanced the movie is supposed to be. I guess marketing is marketing, anything helps. I wish this movie looked more exciting to me, but it just looks like a cool animated film to me.
