Roman Polanski’s Victim – Samantha Geimer Wants Charges Dropped (Photos)

Samantha Geimer PictureSamantha Geimer Picture

Roman Polanski has been arrested for having sex with Samantha Geimer when she was 13 years old.  30 years later, Samantha is requesting for the charges to be formally dropped. The pictures (above) show Samantha Geimer then and now.

“If Polanski cannot stand before the court to make this request, I, as the victim, can and I, as the victim do. I have urged that this matter come to a formal legal end. I have urged that the district attorney and the court dismiss these charges.”

I can’t believe Samantha Geimer doesn’t want justice to be served.  Roman Polanski committed a crime.  Yes, it was 30 years ago.  But he still needs to pay the price for what he did.

Maybe Samantha just wants to move on with her life once and for all.  I do understand that.  I still think Polanski needs to pay up though.

I read the reason for her decision was that she didn’t want her family to have to deal with the press and such. She’s gone on with her life and doesn’t wish to revisit this chapter in her life.

I am quite interested in watching the world’s reaction to this Polanski affair! There are many issues that have been touched upon here. The western world has continuously berated Islamic laws where men can get away with anything – ‘petty’ crimes like rape etc of nobodies like women are not accounted for. On the other hand it is the female victim that is either silenced or punished for a crime inflicted on her. Here we have a prime example of the fact the we are all the same!! The so called world of artists and ‘intelligentsia’ are outraged at the arrest of a genius? And an old crime that should be forgotten in the light of his brilliant achievements?

Like in the much condemned Islamic law where victim is allowed to forgive the criminal, Samantha has forgiven Mr Polanski. Is that enough for law. So this creates a case of anyone with mean and money to commit a crime and settle the same with the victim. Effectively rape someone and pay off ? It is a license!!
There may be several reasons for this: 1) Belief that the law is for the masses 2) Hidden skeletons in their own cupboards – this might happen to them. 3) Acceptance of general exploitation of others in the artistic fraternity 4) Belief that they should be above the law and artists are special and could get away with this

Whatever it is -the obvious question is if it were your child Mr Brilliant Polanski had raped, what would you do 30 years later?

He is not above the law. If the girl he had sex with (age 13), was your daughter, wouldn’t you want him to stand trial. Although I admire Scorcese, Woody, and other various artists, if they would step back and think of him as an ordinary citizen, just a plain Joe (or Stosh in this instance), and their own daughters were the alleged victim, they would be singing a different tune.

He didn’t have sex with her. He raped her. He got her drunk and even though she said no, he raped and sodomized her. Don’t sugarcoat it, don’t call it sex. Nothing like sex happened here. It was RAPE. Call it what it was. And he should serve time. People who rape children should not be serve only 42 days.
