Hottie Jon Hamm plays Don Draper on AMC’s Mad Men, but in real life he’s no mysterious lothario like his character.  He shared a bit about his past (no stolen identities) and his philosophy on life with Barbara O’Dair.

On his early life:

I lost both of my parents at a relatively young age and bounced around various families and homes and friends and groups for quite awhile.  If there’s any connection between Don Draper and me, it’s understanding that where you come from isn’t necessarily as important as where you are.

On deciding on an acting career:

I started acting in grade school and kept returning to it in high school and college.  Theater departments are usually a big collection of orphans and screwups – kind of lost tribes – and I found kinship there.  When I started thinking about what to do with the rest of my life, acting was the only  thing I kept coming back to.

On the wisdom that comes with age:

There is no one answer to happiness, despite what advertising or politics or entertainment tells you.  Everybody has a different definition.  The main thing is to [stay true to] your own happiness.  To say, Okay, this is what I feel, this is what I think is important, and this is what I am going to pursue.  Oh, and while you’re pursuing your own happiness, don’t hurt anyone along the way.

Wise words!  Too bad Jon didn’t win an Emmy this year…

Melanie Brown is retiring as the face of Ultimo, but she got one last photoshoot in before she bids them farewell.  She shows off their Autumn/Winter 2009 line in a series of ads with a Las Vegas theme.

Ultimo founder Michelle Mone was happy with Mel’s work:

“Mel B did an astounding job and really got into the spirit of the shoot.  Mel is a bold, sexy icon of female empowerment and has been nothing short of an incredible asset to Ultimo.”

I’ve been saying this all along, but I think Melanie’s body is so weird.  The way she poses is so awkward, and I have never understood what’s going on with her middle section.  Why doesn’t she have a waist?

Mel’s replacement hasn’t been named yet.  It will be interesting to see whom they choose.

With her daughter, Khloe Kardashian, getting married THIS SUNDAY (September 27) to Los Angeles Laker Lamar Odom, Kris Jenner took to the airwaves to talk about how wonderful it is. Kris told Ryan Seacrest, the executive producer of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, that she thought Khloe’s whirlwind romance was “romantic”.

“You know, that’s how Bruce [Jenner] and I  met,” she said on Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM radio show Tuesday (September 22). “We met, and we were married four months later. Isn’t that romantic?”

She added, “I just go by what I feel. If you meet somebody, you just know.”

Wow, really? I guess if the world was made up of kittens and cotton candy, getting married after only dating a few weeks would be “romantic”.

But then, what else is Kris really going to say.  Khloe is her daughter, and you KNOW this wedding will be on the show next season, paid for by Ryan’s production company no doubt, as well.

Hey Miley Cyrus fans!  We have been waiting a LONG time for this video and we finally got to see it on Dancing With The Stars tonight.  I absolutely love it!  It’s very hip, makes you want to get up and dance.  Miley looks great.  Yes, there are those sexy, short shorts and her long locks we love so much.  Miley Cyrus rocks this video.  Party in the USA is by far her best music video to date.

That’s right a sequel to the film Ghost Rider has been confirmed and is going into development.

Columbia Pictures has begun to rev the throttle on a second installment of the Marvel Comics character “Ghost Rider.”

David Goyer is in early talks to create the story and supervise writers for a film expected to once again star Nicolas Cage, who played the highly flammable cyclist in the 2007 original.

Through a spokesperson, Goyer said he hadn’t signed on yet. But plans are already under way to base the sequel on a “Ghost Rider” script written years ago by Goyer, whose superhero work includes hit screen transfers of DC’s “Batman Begins” and Marvel’s “Blade” franchise. The original “Ghost Rider” was scripted by director Mark Steven Johnson.

The first film was such trash to me that the prospect of a sequel spurs a regurgitative feeling. I really hope they don’t bring Nicholas Cage back.

Hailey Glassman is desperate to get her lover, Jon Gosselin to stop sleeping around and be committed to her.  Lucky for Hailey, her dad is a plastic surgeon…in fact, he’s the one that gave Kate Gosselin her tummy tuck.

So on September 16th, Hailey had her dad give her a boob job to make them look perfect for Jon.  Ew.   That’s creepy.

“Hailey’s been very self-conscious about her breasts.  She didn’t like the way they looked.”

Hailey looked pretty out of it as she was leaving the office, post surgery.  But, she won’t be stopping with the boobs.  She’s got big plans to become Hollywood glam for Jon,

“She says she wants whiter, bigger teeth so she can have a gorgeous Hollywood smile. She wants [her hair] long, straight and with a wave to look her sexiest for Jon.”

Is it just me, or is this whole thing just pathetic?  Really, it’s sad that a girl wants to gets all these procedures done just to keep a guy.  And hello, does she really think this will make Jon Gosselin faithful to her?  Give me a break!

What heartache?  Private Practice star, Kate Walsh isn’t going to let a little thing like a messy divorce keep her from new love.   The actress, who is divorcing film executive Alex Young, was spotted at the Emmy’s with a new man.

When asked who the new man was Walsh said,

“I’m not going to talk about that! I know you have to ask, but it’s super top-secret! It’s in the vault!”

Later that night, though, Kate Walsh told actor Chris O’Donnell that her date, Neil Andrea, was her “boyfriend”.

In 2008, Kate Walsh and her then husband Alex Young filed for divorce after only 15 months of being married. They had dated only four months before tying the knot.

Let’s hope that she and this new beau get to know each other a little bit more before they get hitched.

There are two new faces cast in the upcoming film Thor, Jaimie Alexander and Colm Feore.

Jaimie Alexander and Colm Feore are coming aboard the Marvel Studios adaptation of its comic book featuring the Norse god of thunder. Kenneth Branagh is directing.

Alexander and Feore join Chris Hemsworth, already cast as Thor; Tom Hiddleston, who plays Loki, the god of mischief who serves as the movie’s villain; and Natalie Portman is Thor’s human love, Jane Foster.

In Marvel’s epic fantasy, Alexander is playing Sif, a skilled Asgardian warrior who can hold her own against any man. She also is one of Thor’s loves.

Feore’s character is shrouded in mystery — the studio isn’t even sending the actors the script — though it is known to be a villain.

The movie’s story centers on Thor, a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions re-ignite an ancient war. As punishment, Thor is cast down to Earth and forced to live among humans. Once here, he learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends dark forces of Asgard to invade Earth.

No word on what Colm Feore is playing, but it’s nice to see the cast getting closer to completion. This is going to be a hard movie to pull off, I’m very curious to see how it turns out.

Bryan Singer is lined up to direct the new film Jack the Giant Killer.

The filmmaker has signed on to direct “Jack the Giant Killer,” the fantasy adventure from New Line and Legendary Pictures.

Neal Moritz is producing via his Original Film banner along with David Dobkin.

The story, by Mark Bomback (“Live Free or Die Hard”) and Darren Lemke (“Gemini Man”), is set in motion when a princess is kidnapped, threatening a long-standing peace between men and giants. A young farmer is given an opportunity to lead a dangerous expedition to the giants’ kingdom in hopes of rescuing her.

Sounds much more epic and dark than Jack and the Beanstalk, I wonder if there will even be a beanstalk. The film is in good hands with Bryan Singer at the helm, it will be interesting to see how this turns out.

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe was recently dropped by Warner Brothers Pictures, but now it’s back on track at Sony Pictures.

Just weeks after the He-Man and the Masters of the Universe movie left Warner Bros. Pictures, Mattel is finalizing a deal with Columbia Pictures. Escape Artists will produce the project.

Sony and Escape Artists’ Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch will now start developing the project from scratch. John Stevenson had been attached to direct but is no longer attached.

In the big screen adaptation of the signature Mattel toy line,  is a brawny prince who transforms into a warrior who becomes the last hope for a magical land called Eternia, which is being ravaged by technology and the evil Skeletor.

I’m still having a hard time seeing this movie in my mind’s eye, hopefully it’s not too embarrassing. Who could play He-Man? Casting is going to be tough. Whoever they pick is going to have to hit the gym hard and be downing a lot of protein shakes to stack up as He-Man!
