Dwayne Johnson is set to star in a new action film called Faster.

Johnson will play an ex-con bent on avenging the death of his brother, who was murdered 10 years earlier when the two were double-crossed during a heist.

When Johnson began negotiating, his “Gridiron Gang” helmer Phil Joanou was expected to direct the film, but he dropped out several months ago. Joe and Tony Gayton wrote the script. Tillman last directed the Notorious B.I.G. biopic, “Notorious.”

Finally Johnson is getting back to a real action role! He was supposed to be the new Arnold Schwarzenegger, but he’s been too busy making comedies and Disney flicks. Hopefully it will be a great comeback for him.

John C. Reilly is joining Ed Helms in the new comedy Cedar Rapids.

The story, by Phil Johnston, centers on a wholesome and naive small-town Wisconsin man (Helms) who, when his role model dies, must represent his company at a regional insurance conference in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where his mind is blown by the big-town experience.

Reilly’s character also is attending the conference and is a family man who sees the event as a vacation and time to let loose.

This movie is a lot more appealing already, seeing Reilly and Ed Helms together sounds like a comic treat. Hopfully it’s really well written, a lot of comedy these days just falls flat.

Marc Webb, director of the new film 500 Days of Summer is likely to direct a new film called Just Another Love Story.

The up-and-coming director of “(500) Days of Summer” is in negotiations to produce and direct “Just Another Love Story,” the remake of the Danish thriller that’s been set up Mandate Pictures.

Ole Bornedal directed the original, which broke out at the Sundance Film Festival in 2008. The film tells of a crime photographer who pretends to be the boyfriend of an amnesiac, only to face the wrath of the actual boyfriend when he finds out about the deception. James Mangold, Cathy Konrad and Nathan Kahane are exec producing. Nicole Brown is overseeing for Mandate.

He seems to be well equipped for the job, looks like the beginning of a great career. Hope he can keep it up.

There are confirmed  reports coming in that actor, Dennis Hopper has been rushed to the hospital today (Sept 30th) in New York City.

The 73 year old Oscar nominated actor had been suffering from flu-like symptoms and a stomach ailment.  Hopefully Hopper will recover quickly, the flu can be very dangerous at his age..

Dennis Hopper was in NYC was to promote his new show on Starz, Crash.  Unfortunately his plans have been cancelled due to his sudden illness.

Get well soon, Dennis!  We are pulling for you!

I thought the show was called So You Think You Can Dance, not So You Think You Can FLASH Dance?!  Ha!  Well, there was a major wardrobe malfunction from one of the contestants on the show and well, I don’t think it was an accident.

Check out the NSFW snaps (after the jump) and you can be the judge as to whether or not the girl is wearing her panties.  I think this a super desperate cry for attention.  This gives a new meaning to the term ‘fame whore’.

It was an entertaining night on the Dancing With The Stars week two results show.  We got to see Joss Stone, Selena Gomez, and the USC marching band all perform.  That was good times!

Unfortunately, by the end of the night, we had to say goodbye to the beautiful Kathy Ireland and Tony Dovolani.  She had a very positive attitude and I give the mother of 3 kudos all the way for getting out there and doing it in the first place!

“When I walk into a meeting, all I can say is, ‘Watch out,’ because Tony’s taught me to walk with confidence!” she continues. “I’ve got this power walk now! That’s going to be cool!”

Good for you, Kathy!  You go girl!

Did you even recognize her?  I didn’t without the byline. Desperate Housewives’ Eva Longoria Parker is showing a side we’ve never seen before as she covers the French fashion magazine, Citizen K.

Eva usually has long, soft hair and sexy vixen fashion loaded with class.  This look is so from left field, I see Lady GaGa all over it!  Eva must have had a blast doing the photo shoot, being someone else for a day has got to be fun!

What do you think of Eva Longoria Parker posing as Lady GaGa?  I definitely prefer the REAL Eva! (pictured below)

Jessica Alba is likely to star in the new film sequel Little Fockers starring Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro.

The Hollywood Reporter‘s “Risky Biz Blog” got the scoop that actress Jessica Alba is in negotiations to join Ben Stiller, Robert De Niro and company in Paul Weitz’s Little Fockers, the third chapter in the comedy series that kicked off in 2000 with Meet the Parents. She will play an attractive pharmaceutical rep whose looks wreak havoc on male characters in the story.

Alba isn’t the best actress in the world, but she manages, and she looks great doing it. This movie is of little interest to me, but I’m sure it’s bound for success.

Wow, that is a little shocking if you ask me.  The Twilight Saga producers are going a whole new direction with The Hills (former) star, Lauren Conrad.  In fact, they are buying the rights to her book, L.A. Candy and turning it into a movie.  And since Lauren’s book is only one of a three book series, this could be an L.A. Candy Saga.  Hmmmm, I guess we will have to trust these guys that it’s a good idea, they have obviously proven themselves with the Twilight series.  This should be very interesting, if nothing else.  No wonder Lauren bailed on The Hills….

The newest film in the franchise Resident Evil: Afterlife has begun shooting in Toronto.

Screen Gems and Constantin Film announced today that Resident Evil: Afterlife, the next installment in the widely successful “Resident Evil” film franchise has begun production in Toronto, Canada. The fourth film, which will be shot and released in 3-D, is a first in the “Resident Evil” film franchise. Most of the key creative players, who turned the “Resident Evil” film franchise into a global phenomenon, will be reprising their roles in “Afterlife.”

Actress Milla Jovovich returns as the zombie-fighting heroine Alice. Ali Larter reprises her role as Claire Redfield from Resident Evil: Extinction. Spencer Locke, who played K-Mart in “Extinction,” is also set to return. New to the film franchise is leading man Wentworth Miller, who has signed on as Chris Redfield – Claire’s brother and a popular character from the game series. Shawn Roberts will take over the role of Alice’s nemesis Wesker. Boris Kodjoe and Kim Coates have also been cast.

I can’t say that I like the last two films in this series, but I am interested in seeing the next one. I think it’s just the fact that Milla Jovovich always manages to be interesting in her roles for me.
