President Obama was wielding a plastic light saber, showing off his Jedi skills at a white house rally for Chicago’s bid for the 2016 Olympics on wednesday.

“Chicago is ready. The American people are ready. We want these games,” Obama said. “If you choose Chicago, I promise you this – Chicago will make America proud, and America will make the world proud.”

Who knew the president was trained in the ways of the force. Apparently his Jedi mind tricks don’t always work on congress.

November 5th all the O.C. action you can handle is back.  The Real Housewives of Orange County are back for a fifth season on Bravo. This is going to be another one filled with steamy suburban drama.

Tamra Barney, Lynne Curtin, Vicki Gunvalson and Gretchen Rossi are bringing in a new face to their group.  Alexis Bellino is a mother of 3 young ones at the age of 36 and is too hot for real words to describe. As the ladies welcome Alexis, they say farewell to longtime housewife Jeana Keough.  I am happy to see Jeana go and I can’t wait to see what Alexis is really like.

Ew!  Yes, it’s true.  We are going to talk about Jon Gosselin’s “baby maker.”  He had a vasectomy after the babies were born to ensure that there would be no more. That to me seems a little weird.  Jon and Kate couldn’t get pregnant and had to go to fertility treatments, etc…hence the 8 kids!  Anyhow, I guess it is coming in handy for Jon now that he is sleeping around.

Marci Santoro, the mother of Stephanie Santoro (Jon’s nanny/lover) said that when her daughter confessed she was having an affair with the infamous playboy, the first thing Marci worried about was her getting knocked up.

“When Stephanie told me that besides watching the children, she also started a relationship with Jon, my first question was are you sleeping with him?” Marci tells Star. “She said ‘Yeah.’ I said, ‘Stephanie you don’t need to get pregnant.’ She told me, ‘Mom you don’t need to worry about that, he can’t have anymore kids.’”

“I asked her how do you know and she told me that after the sextuplets were born he had a vasectomy so I didn’t have to worry about that.”

You know this translates to me as?  Jon wasn’t using any sort of protection!  Apparently he doesn’t believe in STDs or the use of a condom to prevent them!  Gross!  Do you hear that ladies!?  Quit sleeping with Jon Gosselin!  He’s dirty!

Coming up on November 3rd, Tabatha Coffey is back and ready to takeover salons for a second season of Tabitha’s Salon Takeover on Bravo. The economy been adding to the dire situations of fledgling small business owners nationwide, Tabatha hits the cities of Los Angeles, Chicago and Miami to work with ten different beauty salons that are literally about to go under. For one week, she confiscates the keys to the establishments and takes over as boss, bringing her no-nonsense approach to these salon owners and stylists in dire need of her skilled business direction.

I think this is a great idea.  Why not take a great show concept and incorporate it into helping out people/businesses in need?   Love it!

It looks like a new cat fight between Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie could erupt if these allegations are true.  It seems that one night while DJ AM and Paris Hilton were partying together, they hooked up and Nicole never knew about it.  But, Star magazine is releasing the sordid pictures in their latest issue.  They are from the Toronto Film Festival in 2007.

“They got more and more affectionate as the night went on, until they were all over each other. There was no doubt she wanted him”

After that, they supposedly went to a hotel and stayed in the room together, all night.  Hmmmmmm…..

I really hope that it’s all BS.  I don’t want Nicole and Paris to have a reason to hate on each other again, aside from teh fact, DJ AM’s death was tragic and I know that Nicole is still healing from that loss.  This could get ugly.

That was a quick switch.  The Philadelphia Eagles dumped their mediocre wide receiver, Hank Baskett to allow room for dog killer, Michael Vick.  Baskett didn’t stay ‘homeless’ for long.  Hank Baskett is lined up to sign with the Colts.  I don’t know how much playing time he will get.  With Reggie Wayne on top and the rookie, Austin Collie and Pierre Garcon, we will see what they can do with Baskett and how well he and Peyton Manning can get in sync.  This will be interesting to watch.

Jessica Simpson is still holding out hope that her pooch, Daisy will be returned after she was snatched up by a coyote.  Meanwhile, Martha Stewart who we all know loves her pups dearly, called out Jess,

“It’s pretty sad.  She should have watched it more closely, though. She should have been more careful.”

I am glad Martha said it.  I was thinking it.  I have been wondering why a little dog like Daisy would be left out anywhere they might be a wild animal!?  Hard lesson learned, I suppose.

Martha had actually met Daisy during a commercial shoot she did with Jessica for Macy’s.  Martha had a smart piece of advice to give her,

“Get another dog.  I think it’s very important to get another dog, someone else to love. You just have to find the dog that’s the right match for you.”

I agree.  That is the only way to move on.  Kind of like with human relationships.  It takes falling in love with someone else to get over your last love……

Last night was the season finale of America’s Got Talent and Kevin Skinner took home the $1 million prize.  There were some great celebrity performances.  But, Shakira’s stuck out big time. She Wolf was more of a strip club performance……

What do you think? Was Shakira’s performance inappropriate for a family show?  I understand that those hips are Shakira’s trademark, but I feel like she could/should have toned it down for a family show like that.
