George Clooney is starring in a new film called The American and shooting is just starting up.

The screenplay by Rowan Joffe is adapted from Martin Booth’s novel A Very Private Gentleman, published in 2005. The film’s producers are This is that’s Anne Carey, who most recently produced Adventureland and The Savages; Smokehouse’s Grant Heslov, an Academy Award nominee as producer and co-writer of Good Night, and Good Luck, and producer/director of this fall’s The Men Who Stare at Goats; Smokehouse’s Mr. Clooney; Ann Wingate, who most recently produced Into the Storm, starring Emmy Award winner Brendan Gleeson; and Jill Green, executive producer of the long-running U.K. television series Foyle’s War. Enzo Sisti, co-producer of the upcoming When in Rome, is executive producer of The American.

Alone among assassins, Jack (played by Mr. Clooney) is a master craftsman. When a job in Sweden ends more harshly than expected for this American abroad, he vows to his contact Larry (Bruce Altman of this fall’s Peter and Vandy) that his next assignment will be his last. Jack reports to the Italian countryside, where he holes up in a small town and relishes being away from death for a spell. The assignment, as specified by a Belgian woman, Mathilde (Thekla Reuten of Focus’ award-winning In Bruges), is in the offing as a weapon is constructed. Surprising himself, Jack seeks out the friendship of local priest Father Benedetto (Italian screen and stage veteran Paolo Bonacelli) and pursues romance with local woman Clara (Italian leading lady Violante Placido). But by stepping out of the shadows, Jack may be tempting fate.

Sounds like it might be a really interesting movie. I’ve never read the book, but I did hear that it was good. Clooney seems like a really good choice for this movie, I think of him as a modern day Cary Grant.

Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale’s home in London was broken into last night while Gwen was performing in concert in Singapore.

Thankfully they were unable to break the door down completely.  The robbers bashed it in pretty badly but it was a ’very secure venue’, according to authorities.

The neighbors heard the loud noise,

‘We heard a loud crashing sound but thought it was our sons and their friends in the basement.’

It wasn’t until 12 hours after the crime that anyone noticed the door and got the police involved.

I am so glad that they didn’t lose any of their belongings and even more relieved the the kids weren’t home and that no one was hurt!  I mean goodness, look at the damage to the door.  Those robbers were insane!  Who does that kind of damage trying to break in?  Craziness.

Selena Gomez performed at the Roxy in West Hollywood on Saturday night and she looked great!  This girl is a mega talent and I am so proud of how far she has come in her career.

This version of the trailer is certainly more fun, it makes the movie look like a ride. Watching it in IMAX 3D looks like it will be quite an experience.

The gorgeous couple got engaged in February and met about two years ago while filming, Evening.

The company that released the film Terminator Salvation has filed for bankruptcy.

Yet another media company has been forced to restructure. Halcyon Holding Group, which owns theTerminator franchise and which filed for Chapter 11 protection last month, has hired FTI Capital Advisors to evaluate strategic alternatives for the company. Halcyon is in a dispute with Pacificor, the Santa Barbara-based hedge fund that financed Halcyon’s purchase of the Terminator franchise. FTI Capital Advisors will work with Halcyon’s management and bankruptcy counsel to help the company negotiate the Chapter 11 process and maximize the value of its assets, which in addition to the Terminator franchise also include first-look rights to the works of science fiction writer Philip K. Dick. “Based on our extensive due diligence, we believe the value of the Terminator franchise alone is substantially greater than the $30 million Halcyon paid for it in 2007,” Kevin W. Shultz, Senior Managing Director of FTI Capital Advisors, said in statement today. “In our view, Halcyon enjoys a wide variety of strategic options and we intend to explore them all.”

So many companies in the business are going belly up, even after huge successes like Terminator Salvation. This is another franchise that will survive regardless of which company owns it.

Hulk Hogan and his busty, blonde girlfriend, Jennifer McDaniel were in Las Vegas this weekend and they wanted to remember their time there forever.

The couple stopped in at Huntington Ink at the Palms Casino Resort to put it in ink.  Jennifer McDaniel got a tattoo on her wrist that says ‘Terry’ which is Hulk’s real name and he got ‘I AM THAT I AM’ on the his right arm.

Ok, Jennfier McDaniel, you are nuts to put any man’s name on your body permanently.  And hello, WTF Hulk?  You are claiming to be God now?  Give me a break.  Not cool.  Just creepy.

Tickets for the upcoming film Michael Jackson’s This Is It went on sale just yesterday but it’s already selling out in many theaters!

CULVER CITY, Calif., September 28, 2009 – Sony Pictures Entertainment, in conjunction with Sony Music Entertainment, today announced that the first 24-hours of pre-sales activity for Michael Jackson’s This Is It has resulted in record-breaking sales throughout the world as fans secure the first tickets to the two-week, limited engagement of the highly-anticipated motion picture.

With reports still coming in from nations around the world, it is believed no movie in history has generated so many ticket sales so far in advance of its release.

In North America, online ticket sellers Fandango and MovieTickets.com report that there is extraordinary demand for the film with hundreds of showtimes already sold out after one day of pre-sales. Some 80% of all online ticketing service transactions were for the film, which will debut in some markets with special advance showings the evening of Tuesday, October 27 and will open worldwide on Wednesday, October 28. The film is directed by long-time Jackson collaborator Kenny Ortega.

Domestically, an unprecedented number of shows for the two-week engagement have sold out in the first 24 hours of ticket availability in locations from coast-to-coast, including such cities as Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston, Nashville and New York, among others. Internationally, exhibitors from London and Sydney to Bangkok and Tokyo have experienced the same epic demand.

The film is only out for two weeks, so if you want to see it in the theater I’d advise you to buy your tickets very soon! This movie will probably be sold out across the board everywhere by the time it’s release rolls around on October 28th!
