No Playgirl Spread For Brad Paisley

brad-paisley-teaching-a-music-workshop

Brad Paisley just had a birthday, but don’t expect to see him in his birthday suit anytime soon.  The country singer says he’s turned down multiple offers from Playgirl to pose in the buff.

“I’ve actually turned that down…They’ve asked a few times, and no. They can forget it … No way. Not in a million years. That’s just not what I’m about.  I’ve got a lot of fans that are teenage girls here and there, and I don’t want them buying that magazine just because I’m in it…I’m not going to promote that magazine. It’s garbage. I’m sure there are fantastic articles, but that’s not what I’m about.”

I think his point is a valid one – it would be kind of creepy to know that teenagers were drooling over your nude pictures.  But what do you think?  Would you want to see Brad Paisley in a naked photoshoot?  Comment and tell us!

Looks like we’re going to be seeing a lot more of gorgeous Gabriel AubreyHalle Berry‘s baby daddy is the new face of Louis Vuitton.

Guess who he beat out for the contract?  Jesus Luz – who, as we all know, is hot and heavy with another familiar Vuitton face.   Evidently Madonna should have lobbied harder on her boyfriend’s behalf…

Johnathan Rhys-Davies Turns Down ‘The Hobbit’

towers2

Johnathan Rhys-Davies doesn’t want to be in The Hobbit films, much to the dismay of Lord of the Rings fans everywhere.

Of course his character from Lord of the Rings, Gimli, doesn’t appear since this movie is set before he was born. But most had hoped, even assumed, that he’d be brought in to play Gimli’s father who does figure prominently into The Hobbit story. Unfortunately, Rhy-Davies just isn’t interested. He says, “I’ve already been asked and to be honest with you, I wouldn’t. I have already completely ruled it out. There’s a sentimental part of me that would love to be involved again. Really I am not sure my face can take that sort of punishment any more.”

If you’ve watched any of the behind the scenes material from Lord of the Rings you know what a struggle it was for John just to make it through filming on the first trilogy. His makeup was brutal and caused an allergic reaction. He had trouble breathing inside his costume and let’s face it, he’s not getting younger. Just doing Lord of the Rings was a struggle for him, a struggle which he embraced and an experience which he loved, but now that he’s even older and presumably even more fragile it’s easy to understand why he might be unable to take the punishment of putting back on his dwarf costume.

It’s a lot of punishment to go through for the part, and it’s not like he needs it for his career. Its unfortunate, but hey there are other actors out there who can play this part and the movies are still going to be great.

newmoon1

Here’s a brand new clip from the upcoming film The Twilight Saga: New Moon where Bella gets a papercut.

Oh the melodrama! This is just a small taste of the barrage of cheese that everyone has in store for them if they watch this flick.

Director Martin Campbell Talks ‘Green Lantern’ Effects

greenlantern

Director of The Green Lantern Martin Campbell talked to Coventry Telegraph about the massive amount of special effects in the film.

He admits it will be a big challenge in bringing to life a hero trained on another world to wield a ring of great power and join an intergalactic police corps.

Campbell said: “It’s daunting. Just the process, something like 1,300 visual effects shots, it’s mind-blowing, quite honestly.”

Campbell explained that the amount of FX work was due to the Green Lantern’s powers generated through his mystical ring.

“It’s energised by a battery on the planet of Oa, which taps into the willpower of everyone in the universe.

“From that ring you can form constructs. So if you got into a fight, you could form a giant fist. Or a fighter plane.”

All the digital wizardry will be expensive – and although Warner Bros hoped to shoot in Sydney and take advantage of tax concessions, the budget was pushed to unacceptable levels by the strengthening Australian dollar.

1300 special effects shots?!  That’s going to take a long time, but they have plenty of it since the movie isn’t out until the summer of 2011. The movie is obviously going to be a major hit, I just hope it doesn’t turn out cheesy like Fantastic Four. I doubt it though, Martin Campbell is a solid director.

‘Michael Jackson’s This Is It’ Has Already Made $19 Million

thisisit

Michael Jackson‘s This Is It opened this week in theaters and it’s already raked in an impressive $19 million.

Concert doc “Michael Jackson’s This Is It” from Sony Pictures continued to dominate the box office in its third day ringing up $7.9 million at 3,481 venues for a running cume of $19.1 million.

For Sony, “This Is It” looks to mark the studio’s seventh No. 1 opener this year at the box office after the release of “Zombieland” earlier this month. While the $7.4 million opening day of “This Is It” on Wednesday charted under the $8.6 million first Friday of Disney’s “Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: The Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour,” the Michael Jackson pic has outperformed the opening days of other music docs including Disney’s “Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience” ($5 million) and Paramount’s “Tupac: Resurrection” ($2.2 million).

It’s quite clearly going to be the most dominant concert film, I just wonder if it will be #1 over this holiday weekend.

‘Roger Rabbit’ Sequel Gets Original Writers

who_framed_roger_rabbit_1987_685x385

A sequel to Who Framed Roger Rabbit is coming, and it’s going to have the same writers as the original film did!

Robert Zemeckis has been loosening us up for a Who Framed Roger Rabbit sequel for some months now, letting slip the odd reference here and there that he’s been keen to give the follow on a good crack. In April he said that he had a good idea for the second installment; on July 22nd he said he’d been discussing the film with Bob Hoskins; on July 23rd he told the Comic-Con audience that he could neither deny nor confirm any plans for a sequel.

Now he’s just come out and revealed that not only is he gunning for another run at the funny Bunny, but also that writing on the new screenplay already currently underway. Purist fans of the original will probably jump for joy at his revelation on who is wielding the pen, because it’s none other than the scribes of part one, Peter Seaman and Jeffrey Price.

Who Framed Rodger Rabbit is a movie I’ve always loved, can’t wait to see what they can do with a sequel. Unfortunately it’s one of those movies that could easily be messed up, (e.g. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull), but having the same writers is a good sign. I’ll keep you posted on the happenings with this one.

Nick Cannon Demands Mariah Carey Stop Boozing It Up

Mariah Carey, Nick Cannon

Nick Cannon said back in June that he can’t wait for wife Mariah Carey to have his baby.  So why isn’t she pregnant yet already?  According to gossip sources, he’s blaming her excessive drinking for her inability to get pregnant – and it’s causing strain on their marriage.

“Right now the situation is potentially explosive…They’re still very much in love, but their problems are beginning to affect their marriage.

“Nick is demanding that Mariah cut back on the partying immediately.  The day after her boozing sessions is a nightmare for Nick because Mariah sleeps much of the day and then wakes up in a foul mood, and they end up fighting.”

And here we thought that the drinking was just a way to prove how NOT pregnant she was.  Nick and Mariah are such children – I think having a baby would be the worst possible thing they could do.

Milla Jovovich: “It’s All About My Baby”

Milla Jovovich 2

Milla Jovovich is known for kicking butt in movies like Resident Evil, but she also kicks butt as a mom to her daughter, Ever.  She shared some of her parenting philosophies with Parade.

How being a parent gives you perspective:

“Before you have kids, you create so many problems that are centered in yourself. You’re thinking, Am I ready for this audition? Am I good enough? Now that I have a kid, it’s not such a big deal. Even if I don’t get the job, I know I’m going to be really busy at home. Being a mother to my daughter, Ever, is a full-time job. Now it’s all about my baby, her growing up well and getting everything she needs. Everything else is just a plus.”

On the importance of communicating with your kids:

“You’ve got to know your kids like the back of your hand and make sure they’re honest with you and not scared to tell you things. I know when Ever goes to school I’ll be letting my little bird go, but I just want to make sure she tells me everything that happened, good or bad.”

On controlling what media kids are exposed to:

“I think parents need to take a lot more responsibility than they do about whether it’s OK for their children to go to Resident Evil or any other movie with violence or sex or whatever. It’s really easy to blame Hollywood for violence having an effect on kids, but movies would have no power if parents would just set their own standards. And it’s the same with video games.”

Wise words!  I think Milla sounds like an awesome mom.
