SAVE Law & Order: Criminal Intent – Vincent D’Onofrio and Kathryn Erbe HAVE BEEN FIRED!
There is a major upheaval going on right now. The USA network has fired two of it’s biggest stars on Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Vincent D’Onofrio and Kathryn Erbe (Goren and Eames) have been handed their walking papers. After you see them in the 2-part season 9 premiere, they will be gone.
I can’t believe that they aren’t even giving the fans a whole season to ‘say their goodbyes’, they only get 2 episodes. Jeff Goldblum will now headline the show solo. I am a Goldblum fan, but this can’t be the same show without Kate and Vince.

Thanks for your help. I am a part of the campaign to save Vincent and Kate, and appreciate your help. I am very upset with USA for doing this, for treating both the actors and the fans like this. I will be one of the ones boycotting USA. I can’t believe they would even TRY to replace Vincent– he IS Criminal Intent, and has carried the show for 8 years. I will not be watching C.I. without him. And without him, it really won’t be C.I.

I have been a fan of Vincent D’Onofrio and Kathryn Erbe as Goren and Eames since the first show, 8 years ago. Letting them go is a huge mistake by USA Network! Goren and Eames ARE Criminal Intent! They are IRREPLACEABLE! If anyone at USA Network had a brain, s/he would beg them to stay for one more season and complete the stories of our beloved characters! A two part goodbye is insulting! I will never watch the show without them!

Without Goren and Eames, the show would need to be called something different.

I like Jeff Goldblum, and I do enjoy his episodes. However, Goren and Eames are really the heart and soul of Law & Order: Criminal Intent.
I hope USA Network will reconsider and bring back Goren, Eames, and Ross!!!!
I, along with many others, are extremely disappointed with the direction USA is taking with Criminal Intent.
The show will never be the same, and I will no longer be a viewer.

Unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Vincent and Kate are the show. I will not watch USA again. Only watched Criminal Intent and Monk. Nothing worth watching now. Just the news.
I am shocked that a network that claims “charactors welcome”, is doing this to 3 of the best actors on television. Perhaps “CERTAIN charactors welcome” is a more appropriate phrase. Vincent and Katie have carried this series from day one, and Eric only adds to it. I for one will not watch USA when they are gone, unless of course they add a new series featuring Vincent and Katie. I fully support Vincent, Katie, and Eric if this was their choice…. but If this is another network playing hardball at the expense of the fans and actors, I cannot and will not support USA, or it’s sponsors. If it is about money, think twice USA, hire someone to do a better budget to keep quality in your programming! Yes! they’re worth it!
The “lighter tone” we have been hearing about for USA in their press releases and interviews with Bonnie Hammer is completely inappropriate for Law & Order: Criminal Intent. This show is a crime drama, it was not meant to be a lighthearted dramedy. USA has plenty of those, but they also air repeats of Law & Order: SVU, which is far darker than CI. Clearly, the darker shows are still drawing ratings, or the network wouldn’t air them at all. It is fine for a network to have a theme for its original series, but CI is part of a larger franchise, did not start out as a USA original, and should continue in the spirit of the crime drama family it is a part of. That is why fans tune in. They wouldn’t be tainting their other shows by keeping it true to its spirit. They could air it with In Plain Sight, show an SVU rerun afterwards, and bill it as “USA’s Night of Crime.” There are many ways around this issue without ruining the show by retooling it beyond recognizability.
Once Goren and Eames are gone, so am I. I am stunned that USA has dumped these amazing stars who have created and nurtured their characters over 8 seasons. Without them, it’s not Criminal Intent.
I Like D’onofrio, Erbe, and Bogosian on Criminal intent. I believe it is terrible that USA has not kept them on the show. Won’t be the same show without them. Hope USA will reconsider!

Good riddens. Vincent D’Onofrio is one of the worst actors I have ever seen. Everything he says is so painfully slow with unnecessary pauses between words. His character on the show is pompous and obnoxious. I have nothing against the actress who plays Eames but her character is pretty boring. She never figures anything out. Just follows her partner around.
I appreciate Vincent, Kate and Eric. I think LOCI could have used some better script writing. I thought it was time for Goren to get married and start a new chapter in his life. At any rate, they are all terrific actors and I trust that we will see them in some other shows / roles or films, and perhaps on the major networks, not just cable channels. I could see them playing other serious roles, not just as police.
I have watched CI from the beginning due to Vincent D’Onofrio…Jeff will never make the grade…TPTB are shooting themselves in the foot….So long USA…shudda listened to the fans…………..
I adore Vincent D’Onofrio (Bobby) and his relationship with partner Kathryn Erbe (Eames). I am heartbroken that the last episode with them will be coming up soon. I can only hope that reruns go on and on and on and on …. not of the other people on the show, of Goren and Eames !! THEY ARE LOCI.

I am still weeping over the cancellation of LOCI, b/c that is essentially what USA has done. They can name the new show, THE Jeff Goldblum Show. D’Onofrio and Eames are CI. Do the producers really believe that anyone is going to watch CI. Despite what Hitchcock says, actors are not furniture. The 2009 season was so weak that it was often painful to watch especially when there are reruns popping up on more and more channels that remind us of the glory, gitty days. I love all the L&O’s and I have watched all of the series from the beginning, but I will boycott them all and USA. I’d rather that they just cancel the show than to leave a shell where an ocean once dwelt.

I AM VERY SAD AND DISAPPOINTED ABOUT VINCENT D’0N0FRIO LEAVING CRIMINAL INTENT AND WHEN HE LEAVES, I LEAVE CRIMINAL INTENT AND USA. USA WAS MY FAVERITE STATION FOR THE LONGEST TIME, BUT NO MORE. I WOULD LIKE TO,KNOW WHEN THE NEW SEASON BEGINS. AFTER THE FIRST TWO EPISODES, I SAY GOODBYE TO USA.

As usual, the stupid morons who run the networks are at it again! By allowing Goren and Eames (Vincent and Kathryn Erbe) to leave CI, it is only the beinning of the end for the showj. Although Jeff Glodblaum is good, alone, he will not keep me interested nor watching the show. As usual, the morons are displaying thier stupidity once again, and ruining a great thing! I’d also really like to know why Erbe is leaving as she is also a really BIG part of the show. RKP
What a mess!! I love D’Onofrio and Erbe!!! I had actually hoped that they would one day wind up as a “couple,” with Emes perhaps bringing a balance to Goren’s life somehow.. I know Goren definitely has a tenderness for Emes that you don’t really see with anyone else… This is depressing.. Nothing against the other actors, but these two were THE show…
I have followed Vincent D’Onofrio career over the years. He is an awesome actor. I think sometimes he’s an underappreciated actor. GOREN AND EAMES ARE THE WHOLE SHOW. I was happy when he decided to star in L&O:CI. I have watched it from the start. Vincent and Eames are good together. They compliment each other well. Now I will have to find a show to replace it. I am not going to watch it with Jeff Goldblum playing the lead. They should just cancel the show then. I had kinda hoped that Goren, who has a great fondness for Eames, especially when he told her that his brother had chatted her up to his mother, I thought they would somehow get to be in a much deeper relationship. This is my SERIES FINALE FOR L&O:CI. WILL definitely pull the plug. Have to find a replacement show. SO SAD!!!!
USA….. WE THE LOYAL VIEWERS WILL NOT ( NO WAY, NO WAY IN H… ) watch L&O CI with No D’Onofrio, no Erbe….. KISS us goodbye. Check the stats….. I bet even the re-runs of CI had high ratings….. I don’t let even a 3rd or 4th re-run of the same episode stop me from watching… I was so glad when USA picked it up and started showing the re-runs, I would jones till next week for my dose of D’Onofrio even the D’Onofrio episodes without Erbe ….. because of D’Onofrio is so good ….. All fans you can catch the re-runs on Oxygen if you get it.
This is especially for the person named “Kristen” who commented…D’Onofrio is one of the best actors EVER! In a way, he’s like Johnny Depp because no matter what role he takes on he puts everything into it. If you (Kristen) thinks ‘his character’ talks slowly, I ask this…Have you ever seen Goldblum? While I think Goldblum is the only person that could take the replacement (not to mention a seasoned and terrific actor), I will will miss D’Onofrio and Erbe. But actors move on…I do NOT believe for an instant they were fired! I respect their decision and wish them well. I hope the new cast members will do great! I will still be a loyal fan! Goodluck to those moving on and to those taking on the new roles!
PS–Does no one understand that because the writers are soooo incredibly great at their jobs that we, the viewer, have been fortunate enough to have these great actors interpret the written words so wonderfully?! Kudos to all the writers! You ALL deserve recognition!
I have watched her cancel or make poor decisions for years…she absolutely is out of touch with the viewers of her shows…look what has been done to SYFY.
First they killed off Nicole Wallace and now they have killed the show. My wife, myself and all our friends that watch this show agree- no D’Onofrio & Erbe, no interest. We tolerated Noth because he was an existing part of the L&O universe & it helped to keep Vince on the show but w/o Eames & Goren there is no reason to watch this show. It is a different show than the parent show, more like SVU, the lead characters are a key part of the show not as ‘replacable’ (though I still miss Moriarty).
Where is your loyalty? This WAS my one of my top five favorites. From the beginning on NBC, the show kept my interest because of D’Onofrio & Erbe, not the scripts. I moved with CI to USA, happy it was still on the air. Don’t blame D’Onofrio & Erbe, the story line has gotten too far from major crimes and interesting guest stars. I am really disappointed with USA. I have no reason to watch USA now. I guess you are not interested in loyal viewers anymore. I wish the best of luck to D’Onofrio & Erbe.
My favorite L&I feature is CI with D’Onofrio and Erbe. The addition of Bogosian to the cast made the ensemble completely satisfying. That they are being cast adrift only proves that position, intelligence, comprehension and taste are mutually exclusive attributes. Apparently, the denser one is, the higher one is liable to rise on the entertainment corporate ladder. Whatever happened, I wonder, to the people who first created the characters which Mr. D’Onofrio, Ms. Erbe and Mr. Bogosian chosen to portray? Have they wound up in some kind of show biz Siberia?
I’ll watch one episode of CI with Goldblum and whomever to note which companies are advertising during the program so I’ll know what products not to buy. And as much as I admire Jeff Goldlblum, the only CI programs I intend to watch are those reruns which feature Goren & Eames.
I, too, have been watching Crinimal Intent for 8 years and love Vincent and Kathyrn as Goren and Eames. Without them. there is no show. Whoever has the authority to put them back on should definitely read all these posts and see what a bigggg mistake you are making, firing them from the show. Do you have good reasons for doing this, if so, let’s hear it!!!! Doing this is like so many other things, people get use to seeing certain people on shows, whatever or buying products they love from certain companies and the next thing you know, they are gone. So, please bring them back. It will NEVER be the same!!!
I agree with everyone!!! Vincent and Kathryn are Criminal Intent and I do like Jeff Goldblum but not on this show. I have watched Criminal Intent for all the years it has been on and I cannot believe they ended it like they did!!!!! Vince and Kathryn are my absolute favorite and needless to say I was devastated at the outcome.. I will not watch any of the new ones with out them two only reruns!!! I hope these post really help because criminal intent will never make it without them two on the show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No matter what the reasons, I just want to complain! Vincent and Kathryn deserve better than they’re getting!!! This composition works so very well, and I will never accept the morphing of a great creative success such as Law and Order, CI. What are you ‘big shots’ thinking???? A quality program gets smashed to smithereens for WHAT? I wish Vincent and Kathryn greater success in the future than even L&O brought them, and hope you feel very remorseful in the future for the decision to end this wonderful series in such a criminal method. No grace, no mercy, no justice, and – no class. It could have been handled so much better, whatever the reasons. Onward and upward to Vincent D’Onofrio! Your talent will not fade~
my whole family quit watching usa,goren and eames being kicked to the curb after building a great show for so long,wow what a a big blunder…..thank god for re-runs on bravo channel on sundays,i hope all of the advertisers jump from usa to another cable channel,then big boom the networks dump the orginal law and order,what are these people thinking.have a great career to the decision makers whom made blunders such as these.
Can’t understand what’s wrong with tv these days. They seem hell bent on getting rid of anything that people like and replace it with something that’s crap. I will not be watching Criminal Intent if there is no D’onofrio and Erbe. Thats all I have to say!!
I have tried but have not been able to watch L & O because Vincent D’Onofrio is such an inept poor excuse for an actor. I was hoping he would be replaced by someone with a little ability but Goldblum is no better.
The painfully slow dialogue with constant unecessary pauses makes D’ Onofrio impossible to watch. He comes for the Tom Cruise school of failed middle school acting.
