Vanessa Hudgens Is A FREE Woman! (Photos)

Vanessa Hudgens goes shopping in Hollywood.

Vanessa Hudgens was out and about getting in a little shopping in Hollywood yesterday (Ocetober 24th) with a guy friend.  Later on she made some time to visit with her sweet mom, Gina.  I love it when girls keep close with their mommas, it keeps them in check….for the most part.  And it looks like Vanessa’s nude scandals aren’t affecting their relationship at all.

As of this month Vanessa Hudgens is a free woman.  She is no longer with Hollywood Records.  So when Vanessa is ready to cut another album, she will be with another label.  But I don’t think she will have time for an album any time soon, up next for Vanessa are a couple more movies…..Beastly and Sucker Punch.

Evan Rachel Wood, It’s Not Halloween Yet (Photos)

Evan Rachel Wood Launch of the Gucci Icon

Evan Rachel Wood was at the launch of the Temporary Gucci Icon-Flash Sneaker store in SoHo, New York City on Friday (October 23rd) and I am left wondering if she happened to forget to look in the mirror before she went out.  This look is positively frightful.  Wait, maybe she thought it was a Halloween party!  That could explain it…maybe that would be the reason for the odd, puzzled look on her face (below)??

The dress is okay, the makeup is way too heavy, and well, the legs and shoes are hideous.  Tell me what you think.  Is this pasty, goth look hot or not?

’30 Days of Night: Dark Days’ Begins Shooting

30days090109

30 Days of Night: Dark Days the straight to DVD sequel has begun shooting.

Principal photography has started in Vancouver, Canada for “30 Days of Night: Dark Days”, the sequel to the vampire movie based on the cult-hit graphic novel series by Steve Niles and Ben Templesmith.

Produced by Stage 6 Films and Ghost House Pictures, “30 Days of Night: Dark Days” marks director Ben Ketai’s first feature film and is based on a screenplay written by Niles and Ketai.

This movie is going to be worse than the first one for sure. But the simple fact is, people will still buy and rent it. Horror movies have followings like no other, people are obsessed!

‘Mamma Mia 2′ Confirmed by Amanda Seyfried

seyfried03

Abba fans rejoice, Mamma Mia 2 is coming according to Amanda Seyfried.

The actress, who played Sophie in the musical, has denied knowledge of a sequel in the past. However, she has now suggested that there are serious talks underway about releasing a second film.

She told Newsbeat: “I’ve been talking to some insiders and it’s not something that they haven’t been working on. I don’t actually know anything other than that.

“I know it’s still going to be Abba music, because what else would it be. Come on, I wouldn’t do Mamma Mia 2 without Benny and Bjorn.

I attempted to watch the first Mamma Mia at one point but only made it 15 minutes in before I had to tap out. So my excitement level is about as low as Death Valley (the lowest point in the Western Hemisphere).

‘Mad Max 4: Fury Road’ Coming, With Sam Worthington As the Road Warrior?

sam-worthingtonmad_max_ver1

Mad Max 4: Fury Road is coming, and rumor has it that Sam Worthington and Charlize Theron could star.

Twenty years on and Mad Max 4: Fury Road is about to restart the local movie industry, being filmed entirely in Sydney and Outback NSW.

The Daily Telegraph has learned that work on the film will start immediately, injecting tens of millions of dollars into the economy and creating more than 500 jobs.

There has been no confirmation yet of who will play the role of the Road Warrior but rumours abound it will be Australian Terminator star Sam Worthington, with Charlize Theron to co-star.

Much of the work will be done at Redfern’s CarriageWorks and there will also be 30 weeks of filming in Broken Hill. It is estimated the whole project will take two-and-a-half years to complete, create 540 jobs and generate countless millions.

This is big news for Mad Max fans, but I bet some of them are going to be outraged that Mel Gibson isn’t the one coming back. Sam Worthington seems like he would be a good choice and Charlize Theron is always good at whatever she does so I have no doubt she’d bring a much higher level of quality to this pic.

‘District 9′ Director Gets a New Otherworldly Sci-Fi Project

neill3

Neill Blomkamp the director of this summer’s suprise hit District 9 is back at work getting ready to make his next sci-fi movie set in another world.

Media Rights Capital has committed to the next film by “District 9” writer/director Neill Blomkamp.

The untitled science fiction pic will begin production by mid-2010. Bill Block will produce.

Blomkamp will immediately start writing and preparing the visual effects. The film will be modest by sci-fi standards, but it will certainly cost more than “District 9,” the under-$30 million budget film that grossed more than $184 million worldwide.

“MRC is letting me make the film I want to make and that is by far the most important thing here,” Blomkamp said. “The film will hopefully be commercial, but it is very much a singular film, that comes directly from me. `District 9’ was a bit different. I was learning the process then, under Peter Jackson’s wing. He had control, but was awesome enough to let me make the film I wanted to. Bill’s producing this with MRC, so the difference is Pete’s involvement.”

Hope Blomkamp makes his new film as well as he made District 9, that was one of this year’s more enjoyable moviegoing experiences. Sounds like he’s thrilled to have all this creative freedom, I wonder if it’ll be shot documentary style like District 9.

Uma Thurman Overdoes It

Uma Thurman

Oh, the pressures of being a a celebrity mom. Uma Thurman, who has two kids, daughter, Maya, 11, and Levon, seven with her ex-husband Ethan Hawke, puts pressure on herself to be the perfect mom. Especially when it comes to her children’s birthdays.

“I get caught up in the birthday party situation… I had a pirate party for my son and I designed this cake myself….

“I cut the cake up, pass it around, and one boy turns to my son and says, ‘Brown sugar, that’s disgusting!’ And my son, who I’d hyped up with so much effort, just fell apart crying. What the hell are you going to do about it? I try too hard.

“In the end, there’s all the hysteria, the desperate effort, that create an overdoing, so that makes someone else resentful, so that they to turn to a 6-year-old and say, ‘Your cake sucks.’ Of course, I overdid it a bit. As my mother said, my name should be “Overdo It Uma.” I never feel like I’ve done enough.”

I wonder if Hollywood families could ever just get away with buying a sheet cake from the local grocery store. Put on a few candles, and there you have it. Birthday cake! I doubt it. There are too many mommies like Uma out there trying to overdo it, and possibly outdo the other kids’ parties.

‘Ghost in the Shell’ Gets ‘Shutter Island’ Writer

ghost-in-the-shell-movie

The writer of the upcoming Martin Scorsese film Shutter Island has been hired to write the upcoming Dreamworks film Ghost in the Shell.

DreamWorks has tapped scribe Laeta Kalogridis to adapt  the Japanese manga property “Ghost in the Shell.”

DreamWorks is making the futuristic police thriller as a 3D live-action film.

Created by Masamune Shirow, “Ghost in the Shell” was first published in 1989. It went on to generate two more manga editions, three anime film adaptations and an anime TV series. The second anime film, “Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence,” was released in the U.S. by DreamWorks in 2004.

Ghost in the Shell is a great manga movie, I haven’t seen the newer TV series, but it’s a great concept. Seeing this movie come to life in live action will be really great, this is some high tech sci-fi action. I’ll keep you posted as the film goes further into development.

Jeff Smith’s ‘Bone’ Comic Being Made into Movies

bone_cover_1131

Jeff Smith‘s Bone comic books are in the process of being turned into animated feature films.

Comic Book Resources has a big report from Smith’s appearance last weekend at the Alternative Press Expo (APE) where a question was asked about the status of the film. CBR reports:

Smith mentioned the deal he signed with Warner Bros. for a CGI cartoon, noting he was very happy with the progress so far. No release date has been set yet, but he said they’ll probably end up making three films. [Discussion moderator Larry] Marder asked if it was a big decision to do a computer-generated cartoon instead of a hand drawn one. Smith noted he was a huge fan of hand-drawn animation, and had even tried to pull together a “Bone” cartoon with some friends he has in the animation business. “It was just too big, too expensive,” he said. “I ended up just spending my time trying to get everyone to get along with everyone else.”

I’ve never actually read these comics, but I’ve always seen them and thought they looked fun and interesting. This seems like a perfect comic to make into a movie. It has that instant appeal that sets it apart from many other animated films out there, hopefully they will do a good job with it.

Slowly, more and more publicity for this film is trickling out. I expect it to be a marketing blitz come mid November, you know this movie is going to make a lot.
