The new Melrose Place on the CW is already struggling and it seems that the execs over there think that by dumping Ashlee Simspson Wentz they will somehow save the show.  Thankfully Ashlee isn’t getting booted all by herself. Her co-star, Colin Egglesfield is also being dumped.

According to the executive producer, Todd Slavkinoth,  Colin and Ashlee seem to be taking the news fine,

“When you go into a show you never know what’s going to evolve and what the possibilities are. But because they knew ahead of time [that leaving was a possibility], it wasn’t a complete shock.”

Their final appearances will be in January.  Do you think these casting changes will help or hurt the show?  What’s next for Ashlee?  Better luck next time guys!

Sienna Miller made her debut on Broadway this week in the Roundabout Theatre Company’s production of After Miss Julie.

The play, by Patrick Marber, is an updated version of the 1888 play Miss Julie by Arthur Strindberg.   It is about a love triangle, something Sienna knows plenty about.  With all that experience, no wonder she’s getting great reviews!  Check out Sienna’s performance in the video and see for yourself.

On Monday (October 19) U.K. Parliament’s Home Affairs Select Committee in London held meetings into cocaine use in the U.K. So, who better to address the topic of drug use in the UK and rehab than Mitch Winehouse, Amy Winehouse’s dad?

Mitch spoke to the committee about the current policy that only allows some criminals to receive rehab treatment, while others have to find other ways to get help. He claimed that some addicts are committing more serious crimes in order to receive treatment for their drug addictions.

“Anecdotally people are definitely committing [offenses] so they can have a chance, and it’s only a chance, of receiving treatment”.

Mitch also said that some criminals use rehab as a way to get out of serving jail time.

This is one episode that will have a huge ratings night. TLC is airing an hour long special on Monday, October 26th at 9pm, branching from Jon & Kate Plus 8. Since show went down the tubes and Jon and Kate’s marriage had ended,  there are a lot of questions people have for Kate Gosselin.  They are curious, so they have asked and now they will get their answers.

Some of the questions we will get answers to on You Ask, Kate Answers will be:

Will you ever move?
Do you see yourself getting married again?
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
How do you feel about the attention your hair gets?
Do you ever read the magazine articles about the family, among others?

I personally have my DVR set.  I would love to hear what kind of plans Kate has.  I hope she dishes more that we have already heard on her many interviews.  If she does, this is going to be great and a huge step ahead of Jon!

Hilary Swank may be playing world famous woman pilot Amelia Earhart in her new movie, Amelia, but the production company of the film kept her firmly on the ground. Swank had been training for her pilot license but that quickly came to an end.

“I had about 19 hours of flying under my belt, but the insurance policy on the movie was never going to allow me do that,” she said.

“It’s something I take very seriously. I’m not a big sweater, but when I land, my back is drenched. It takes a lot of concentration. It’s really exhilarating.

“You can’t play Amelia Earhart and not learn how to fly. That’s just wrong in every way.”

I love that she decided to take flying lessons in order to play Amelia. She’s right, not learning at least the basics of flying and playing one of the world’s most well known aviators would have been very “wrong”.

I wonder if Angelina Jolie’s movie producers put the same limits on her.

Nicolas Cage‘s tax issues are causing him to sell off some more of his real estate. Cage has already sold off his castle in Germany and now he has sold of his Los Angeles home for an amount between $9.5 and $15 Million.

Cage, 45, originally asked for $35 million for the house, which he bought for almost $6.5 million in 1998.

Wait a minute. He was asking $35 Million for a home he paid $6.5 just eleven years ago? Really?

Cage is also currently suing his former financial manager for mishandling his money, and causing the issues with the IRS. The IRS claims Cage owes them over $6 Million in taxes.

Here’s the new poster for the upcoming Clint Eastwood film Invictus starring Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon.

The film tells the inspiring true story of how Nelson Mandela joined forces with the captain of South Africa’s rugby team to help unite their country. Newly elected President Mandela knows his nation remains racially and economically divided in the wake of apartheid. Believing he can bring his people together through the universal language of sport, Mandela rallies South Africa’s rugby team as they make their historic run to the 1995 Rugby World Cup Championship match.

Doesn’t sound like a very exciting movie, in fact it sounds boring. But hey, this is Clint Eastwood directing, I’m sure its a good film. It just seems odd.

Here’s the trailer for the upcoming film Dear John, based on the book from the author of The Notebook.

I couldn’t want to see this movie any less. Pure ‘chick flick’ through and through, but who knows maybe it will be good? I doubt it, Channing Tatum has failed to prove himself as an actor in my opinion, he always sounds like he’s reading the lines off the page.

There’s a new sci-fi Movie on the horizon called The Culture and it’s based on a short story by Iain M. Banks. It’s among a large series of stories set in the same universe.

Screendaily report that Dominic Murphy will direct, and co-script with Shane Smith, his collaborator on the ‘psychobilly thriller’ White Lightnin’. It’s just one of a few projects Murphy has on his slate including Jesus Christ Airlines, about daredevil pilots delivering aid to Biafra through hostile Nigerian airspace, and an as-yet untitled film about the Bronte children and their shared world of play and fantasy.

Wrobik, a citizen of The Culture, a society which abhors violence, has been living in exile for eight years, having renounced The Culture, her gender. Now a man, in return for cancelling his gambling debts, he agrees to destroy a starship using a gun which can only be fired by a member of the culture. But disgusted by the thought of murdering innocent people, he decides to flee the city. However, before he can leave, his boyfriend, Maust, is kidnapped and Wrobik is forced to choose between following his conscience and rescuing his lover.

Sounds completely bizarre, but it’s probably going to be a good movie. It’s nice to see hollywood actually making something that hasn’t been made before in the sci-fi genre. It seems to be a rare case nowadays.

Here’s yet another clip from the upcoming sequel The Twilight Saga: New Moon, this time Edward is fighting.

I can’t help but feel underwhelmed yet again, I keep hoping something will peak my interest with these movies. Maybe the next film will be more engaging, it just feels so cheesy.
