Milla Jovovich Will See ‘Faces in the Crowd’

milla_jovovich

Milla Jovovich is set to star in a new psychological thriller called Faces in the Crowd.

Milla Jovovich will star in writer-director Julien Magnat’s psychological thriller “Faces in the Crowd” for Forecast Pictures, Radar Films and Minds Eye Entertainment.

Story centers on a woman who barely survives an attack by a serial killer and wakes up in hospital with a head injury that leaves her “face-blind.” No longer able to recognize faces, she must navigate a world in which facial features change each time she loses sight of them. All the while the killer is closing in, determined to eliminate the potential witness.

Sounds like it has a lot of potential, especially with Jovovich as the lead. She’s a really good actress, it’s nice to see her do something other than a campy horror film.

Anthony Hopkins to Play the Father of ‘Thor’

hopkinsthor

Here’s some great news, Anthony Hopkins is set to star in the upcoming Marvel film Thor!

Hopkins will play Odin, the father of Thor and Loki. Chris Hemsworth is playing Thor, and Tom Hiddleston plays Loki. Kenneth Branagh will direct.

Natalie Portman is also set to play Thor’s love interest, Jane Foster.

Scripted by Mark Protosevich and Zack Stentz, pic tracks partly disabled med student Dr. Donald Blake’s discovery of his Norse god alter ego, the hammer-swinging Thor.

This movie is looking very promising, I really love Anthony Hopkins and Natalie Portman. Having an actor like Hopkins added to the cast instantly gives the movie a whole new level of credibility. The fact that it’s about a superhero with a giant hammer seems less and less of a concern.

The original Evil Dead from director Sam Raimi (Spider-Man) is coming back to theaters!

SAM RAIMI’S ‘THE EVIL DEAD’ RETURNS TO THE BIG SCREEN!

‘The Ultimate Experience in Grueling Horror’ is Back!

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. – Grindhouse Releasing is bringing Sam Raimi’s original horror classic THE EVIL DEAD back to the big screen as a midnight movie.

Raimi and producers Robert Tapert and Bruce Campbell gave the go-ahead for a series of EVIL DEAD revival screenings to Grindhouse Releasing partner Bob Murawski, the film editor of Raimi’s SPIDER MAN 1, 2 & 3, DRAG ME TO HELL and the EVIL DEAD sequel ARMY OF DARKNESS.

Stephen King hailed THE EVIL DEAD as “the most ferociously original film of the year”? when the film premiered in 1981. Shot in Michigan and Tennessee, Raimi’s low-budget debut was released independently with a self-imposed ‘No One Under 17′ rating for its graphic violence and gore.

Dates and venues will be announced at GrindhouseReleasing.com. For bookings, contact David Szulkin at info@grindhousereleasing.com.

This is truly a horror classic, watching this movie shows the foundation  of all of Sam Raimi‘s newer films. This is definitive Sam Raimi.

‘Hitman’ Director Takes on ‘The Fallout’

post-apocalypse-new-york

Director of the film The Hitman, Xavier Gens, has been tapped to direct the upcoming film The Fallout.

The story is set in a New York City apartment building that was converted to a fallout shelter in a post-apocalyptic world. This is NOT to be confused with the similarly-set popular video game series ‘Fallout’.

Post apocalyptic movies are very popular nowadays, I Am Legend, The Book of Eli, The Road and now The Fallout. Not to mention apocalypse movies like Knowing, The Day The Earth Stood Still and 2012. Personally it all comes down to characters and how they act within that world. The Fallout sounds like a more personal story than a lot of these flicks.

Wow, I never thought of Gavin as the Criminal Minds type.  But you know what?  I think he will be able to pull it off.  He’s got the look for sure, the goth/Gene Simmons/rocker dude. Yep, I like it!

What do you think?  Will Gavin Rossdale rock the small screen?

‘Star Trek’ Deleted Interrogation Scene (Video)

trekbluray

Here’s a scene that was deleted from the theatrical version of the film Star Trek.

This scene as well as others will be on the DVD and Blu-ray release of the the film which is coming on November 17th, 2009. I see why the scene was deleted, not that it’s bad, but it just doesn’t feel like it fits with the rest of the film quite as well. It feels a little too campy.

Taylor Swift Addresses Nazi Swastika Scandal (Photos)

Taylor Swift and Nazi fan

The internet is all in a frenzy over a picture of Taylor Swift with her arm around a guy wearing a shirt with a Nazi swastika on it.  Swift was at Katy Perry’s birthday party where there was some super fun painting going down. Anyone who looks at the picture (above) can already tell that Taylor Swift is innocent.  Come on guys, like Taylor Swift would support Nazi swastikas!

Tayor Swift’s rep has made a statement on her behalf:

“Taylor took pictures with about 100 people that night … she doesn’t know who this guy is and she didn’t realize what was on his shirt.”

I am sure that if Taylor had noticed his shirt, she would have ignored him at the least.  Everyone can calm down now.  Taylor Swift is NOT a Nazi!
