This is just strange and creepy looking; I don’t know what they did to their faces but they look like mannequins.

Tarantino Calls Himself a “Bad-Ass” and Talks Casting (Video)

Quentin Tarantino Video

Here’s the amazing Quentin Tarantino talking about the casting process for Inglourious Basterds, talking about projects of the future and calling himself “bad-ass”.

It is true what he said, but he shouldn’t be saying it. Let other people say it Quentin! That’s not enough for you? I can’t wait to see what movie he makes next, Inglourious Basterds was one of the best movies I’ve seen in a long while.

Forest Whitaker is Joining Mickey Rourke for ‘St. Vincent’

Forest WhitakerMickey Rourke

Forest Whitaker is set to join Mickey Rourke in the upcoming film St. Vincent.

That Rourke is set to headline Hill’s upcoming St Vincent is not new, word of that began to circulate in early 2009.  He’ll be playing an aging hitman having a crisis of conscience after taking the confession of his intended target, a premise that is certainly an interesting one.  Making it even more interesting are the recent cast additions of Forest Whitaker, Ray Winstone and Gong Li.

Whitaker is a phenomenal actor, I’m always interested in seeing him in new roles. This should be a good one, thats a lot of talent in one movie.

Is Leona Lewis James Cameron’s Next Big Star?

Leona LewisJames Cameron

Leona Lewis just might take the step from music onto the big screen with James Cameron‘s help.

Leona Lewis is known as a great singer, but she may be crossing over into movies! Director James Cameron has reportedly shown a lot of interest in Lewis lately. Leona recorded the theme song for Cameron’s latest blockbuster Avatar, and now he has his eye on her for his next film.

“James is well known for casting strong females in his films and he sees that quality in Leona,” revealed a Hollywood insider.

“She has made quite an impression in Hollywood and James is one of a number of people interested in developing her performance skills for film.”

The only problem is going to be getting Leona to actually agree to acting in a movie! Leona has previously talked about how she’d love to work in the movie industry — but would prefer it be behind the scenes.

I say stick to the music, there are thousands of talented and undiscovered actors out there that need a chance. Leona Lewis is already doing just fine for herself.

New ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ Trailer is a Lot of Fun

How To Train Your Dragon Banner

Here’s the trailer for the upcoming animated film How to Train Your Dragon from Dreamworks Animation.

This movie does look a bit generic, but this trailer actually made me chuckle. I’m sure it’ll be at least moderately entertaining, a good one to take the kids too, with hopefully enough humor and a story for the big kids.

New ‘Warlords’ Trailer with Jet Li Looking Brutal

The Warlords Poster

Here’s the trailer for the upcoming film The Warlords starring Jet Li.

Great actors in a story that I’m not all that excited to see. Regardless this movie should be good, I wonder how much this sticks to history or if it’s really just historical looking fiction. It does look stylish either way.

Director Harold Ramis Says ‘Ghostbusters 3′ Shoots This Summer

Harold RamisGhostbusters 3 Logo

The 20 year awaited sequel Ghostbusters 3 looks like it will finally begin shooting this summer for a release in 2011 according to director Harold Ramis.

“Something’s going to happen. Dan [Aykroyd] did write a spec GB3 screenplay a few years ago, but no one was motivated to pursue it. Now, 25 years after the original, there seems to be some willingness to proceed and apparently a substantial public appetite for a sequel. We’ll introduce some new young Ghostbusters, and all the old guys will be in it, too. Think Christopher Lloyd in Back to the Future … GB3 is progressing with plans to shoot next summer and release in 2011 … Oh, and I have two one-of-a-kind Ghostbuster yarmulkessent by fans.”

I’m looking forward to this movie, but I can’t say my hopes are extremely high. I mean look at Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. It’s hard to make a sequel to something that was a hit 20 years ago, regardless of your fond youthful memories.

Harry Potter Magically Takes Warner to Another Year on Top with Nearly $3 Billion

Harry Potter 6 Poster

Warner Brothers Pictures is the number one studio again this year, thanks largely to a little film called Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.

Harry Potter’s broom was turbo-charged this year, as the schoolboy wizard’s latest film adventurehelped Warner Bros. fly well north of $2 billion to repeat atop the annual domestic boxoffice rankings.

Warners projects a $2.99 billion domestic tally and nearly 20% market share through Dec. 31. But as certain as the picture is at the pinnacle of year-end rankings, other top positions remain cloaked in uncertainty.

Headed into the final frame, Paramount sits second with $1.44 billion and a 14% share, while Sony is third with $1.43 billion and a similar share. But Fox, with $1.25 billion (12%), has holiday tentpoles ”Avatar” and ”Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel” still going strong enough to give the it a real shot at one of the medal positions.

Warner Bros. is certainly consistent, and next year is looking good too. Even with the absence of another Harry Potter film.

Zoe Saldana Reveals ‘Star Trek 2′ Will Shoot in 2011

Zoe Saldana

Zoe Saldana the lovely star of Avatar and Star Trek spoke about the upcoming much anticipated sequel.

“I spoke to J.J. and Bryan Burk, his producing partner at Bad Robot, and they are still in the middle of building the script with Alex Kurtzman and Bob Orci, and we’ll probably be going into pre-production around this time next year.”

So if all goes swimmingly production on Star Trek 2 could begin early 2011. This could mean Paramount are aiming for a Winter 2011 or Summer 2012 release, which is light years away.

It is a while to wait, but I’d rather wait and have a great movie to watch than have it come out sooner and have it be a letdown. It needs careful and precise work to be the best it can be, so I say they take their time. Within reason of course.
