Mr. T Confirms He is NOT in the ‘A-Team’ Remake

Mr. T

Mr. T has confirmed that he will not be making a cameo appearance in the upcoming remake of  The A-Team. He even explained why, check it out.

One celeb I’ve seen a few times is Mr. T, who is one of the nicest guys you’ll ever talk to. Very humble, but 100% T.

I said hello to him today and asked him if he was going to appear in the A-Team remake. I was hoping he was going to say yes, but unfortunately that wasn’t the case.

He said it wasn’t about money, because he turned down the chance to appear in the film before that was even discussed. He said it just wouldn’t be right for him to be in it. If his B.A. isn’t the main guy, then why do it? What’s wrong with the film that they need him to make a cameo? Plus they would market the film with him being in it, and he didn’t want his friends and family to think he would have some big role when he wouldn’t. He told me he has nothing against the cast or even the fact that they’re doing a remake. But a cameo is just something he wasn’t interested in. He said he’s very happy with his life right now and enjoys giving back to the community.

Totally understandable decision on his part, it’s not like he needs the part. The guy who plays Mr. T in the movie has some big shoes to fill.

‘Green Lantern’ Director Pulls together Oscar Winning Crew

Green Lantern

Director Martin Campbell (Casino Royale) has pulled in some very high caliber talent for his upcoming film The Green Lantern starring Ryan Reynolds.

The first movie to be made under Warner Bros.’ new DC Entertainment umbrella will be shot by cinematographer Dion Beebe, who won an Oscar for his work with Rob Marshall on Memoirs of a Geisha(having previously been nominated for Chicago). Even more exciting than that is who Campbell hired to help create the look and vision of the movie, production designer Grant Major and costume designer Ngila Dickson, both of whom won Oscars for their work on Peter Jackson’s “Lord of the Rings” trilogy. Major also fulfilled the same capacity on Jackson’s remake of King Kong.

Art director François Audouy may not have won any Oscars, but his resume working in genre movies is impressive, everything from doing concept art for James Cameron’s Avatar and I Am Legend, acting as art director for Watchmen and the first Transformers movie, and working in various art capacities on all three “Spider-Man” movies.

I have to say my hopes for this movie are growing with each new piece of information. These are some talented people he’s pulling in for the ever-so-important visuals on this picture. We should start hearing about further casting soon!

‘First Avenger: Captain America’ Shoots this June!

Captain America

News has slipped out that The First Avenger: Captain America will begin shooting this June!

…“By the time I got on a plane and arrived, it was three,” recalls Johnston, speaking from the art department of THE FIRST AVENGER: CAPTAIN AMERICA, which he’s readying for a June start. “But at that point, what kind of difference can a week make?”…

This is great news for all the Avengers fans out there, I really hope they can pull this movie off. Captain America is one of those characters I like, but have a hard time imagining for live action.

‘Multiple Sarcasms’ Poster Flushes the Sky

Multiple Sarcasms Poster

Here’s the first poster for the upcoming film Multiple Sarcasms starring Timothy Hutton.

Gabriel is a man who on the surface has it all-successful professional life as an architect, a beautiful wife, Annie, and a devoted young daughter, Elizabeth. But slowly it dawns on him that he is not really happy. Gabriel decides that he wants to write a play about the sorry state of his life. He quits his job, gets a pushy literary agent friend to represent him and starts writing. Although his marriage ends in a divorce, the play is success and although his life is different than it was, he is happier.

Doesn’t sound very appealing to me, but perhaps it will be funny. The poster looks more like a book cover than a poster.

I’m really looking forward to seeing this movie, especially now that the good early reviews are pouring in. This should be the first fun movie of 2010. Is out on January 8th.

‘Avatar’ and ‘Holmes’ Break Box Office Records

Avatar Postersherlockholmes-3

This past weekend (Dec 25-27) was huge for moviegoers, Christmas day saw the biggest box office numbers in history for the holiday. Avatar still maintained the #1 slot with $75 million with newcomer Sherlock Holmes taking second with a hefty $65.3 million. At #3 was Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakuel which also pulled an impressive $50.2 million, not to mention It’s Complicated and it’s $22.1 taking the #4 slot. Clearly people wanted to get away from the family or at least get them to shut up for the length of a movie.

Quentin Tarantino’s Eight Favorite Movies of 2009 (Video)

Quentin Tarantino

Here’s Quentin Tarantino listing of his favorite movies of 2009.

1. JJ Abrams’ Star Trek

2. Sam Raimi’s Drag Me To Hell

3. Judd Apatow’s Funny People

4. Jason Reitman’s Up in the Air

5. Prachya Pinkaew’s Chocolate

6. Jody Hill’s Observe and Report

7. Lee Daniels’ Precious

8. Lone Scherfig’s An Education

This is a good list and I admit I haven’t seen An Education or Funny People yet, but now I have more reason with his seal of approval. I’m a little surprised that he has Observe and Report on there, I didn’t think that movie was all that great.

New Blu-ray Releases Dec. 29th, 2009: Full List

Paranormal Activity Blu-rayJennifer's Body

Blu-ray is the new standard, DVD is on its way out and every week they are releasing many films on the relatively new format. Here’s the full list of Blu-ray movies out this week on December 29th 2009.

Short list this week, simply because of the holiday. Paranormal Activity is an obvious highlight so you can freak yourself out at home, don’t watch it alone. This week we also get Jennifer’s Body and 9, both of which are probably not worth the money. The final Blu-ray releases of 2009!

‘High Life’ Poster isn’t What it Looks Like

High Life Poster

Here’s the poster for the upcoming film The High Life.

It’s 1983, and hopeless junkie Dick gets an unwelcome visit from the past – his seriously sleazy former cellmate, Bug, to be precise. Bug requires a crash course in the 80s: different music, different drugs, and machines in walls that dispense money. The latter development gives Dick an idea.

Actually sounds pretty funny, I like the idea of watching them fail. The poster doesn’t really appeal to me though. I guess it’s hard to convey in one image the kind of story the movie has, but it seems they could have tried harder.

The 10 Most Pirated Movies of 2009!

2009 Piracy Chart

Piracy is alive and well, here’s the chart showing the most pirated movies of 2009.

1. Star Trek

2. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

3. RocknRolla

4. The Hangover

5. Twilight

6. District 9

7. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

8. State of Play

9. X-Men Origins: Wolverine

10. Knowing

See the interactive chart in full size here.

It’s really amazing how people will settle for the pirated versions of films, even with terrible home video quality. I’d rather pay full price for my ticket and enjoy quality sound and picture. Plus seeing it on the big screen is always better. I think some people watch pirated films just so they can say they saw it already.
