‘Green Lantern’ Gets Green Light!

Green Lantern Logo

The new comic book film The Green Lantern has received the green light to start shooting in March!

Visual effects supervisor Karen Goulekas (The Day After TomorrowSpider-Man) has announced on herBlog that Green Lantern got the official green light yesterday (Wednesday) and that filming will start in 10 weeks (sometime in March):

Wow! Been a long time since I posted! But today is a day worth posting about!

Green Lantern got the official green light today! And not a second too soon – only 10 weeks out from shooting!

While it’s great news we are a go – now we have to actually get our prep done in 10 weeks!
DOH!

But we have an amazing crew – so we will make it happen!

This movie is going to be something else, the team working on it is really great. Great director, great actor, 1300 effects shots and an Oscar winning crew. Can’t wait.

I can already predict it… opening day flop. The Green Lantern is no Batman and audiences can only take so much super hero overkill. I predict this one will do about as well as the last punisher film.
