The NY Post is reporting that an American Idol finalist, Michael Lynche (“Big Mike”) was booted from the competition after his father told the local Florida paper, The St. Petersburg Times that he had made the top 24.  This was a breach of the confidentiality agreement and Big Mike has been replaced by another contestant that made the top 50.

What a stupid thing to do.  Dashing your son’s dreams because you can’t be patient.  Maybe Big Mike can audition next year and NOT tell his father?
