The new comic book film The Green Lantern has received the green light to start shooting in March!

Visual effects supervisor Karen Goulekas (The Day After Tomorrow, Spider-Man) has announced on herBlog that Green Lantern got the official green light yesterday (Wednesday) and that filming will start in 10 weeks (sometime in March):

Wow! Been a long time since I posted! But today is a day worth posting about!

Green Lantern got the official green light today! And not a second too soon – only 10 weeks out from shooting!

But we have an amazing crew – so we will make it happen!

This movie is going to be something else, the team working on it is really great. Great director, great actor, 1300 effects shots and an Oscar winning crew. Can’t wait.

Here’s the trailer for the upcoming comedy She’s Out of My League.

This movie looks like it will have a few mild laughs, nothing worth getting excited about. Maybe if it had a story line that hadn’t been done 100 times before in other movies. This is a clear illustration of the fact that the studios have no chutzpah.

Avatar maintained it’s dominant moneymaking this past weekend (Jan. 1 – 3, 2010) raking in another $68.4 million. Oddly enough every movie from last week stayed in the same slots this week as last.

#1 – Fantastic Mr. Fox – Tomato Meter Score 93%

Fantastic Mr. Fox is one of those rare gems that I would suggest to everyone I know, young and old. I left that movie with a big smile on my face. This list is really subjective depending on what you like but I think Fantastic Mr. Fox is really the best of all these movies  on the list by a substantial margin. See it!

If you want some silly over the top gore The Final Destination 3-D is out as well. Another highlight this week is the fantastic surfing documentary Riding Giants which must look amazing on Blu-ray.

Good grief. What the heck!?  TMZ is reporting that Jay Leno is going to take over the 11:30 time slot, essentially REPLACING Conan O’Brien after the Winter Olympics are over.  There has been no announcement as to whether or not Conan is being fired or if he will follow Leno.  I don’t know how they will fit them both, Jimmy Fallon follows the 11:30 slot!

This is nuts.  Conan O’Brien is my favorite and always has been.  I like Jay Leno too, but I’d take Conan any day.

As I reported yesterday, Gary Coleman was rushed to the hospital after suffering from seizures.  They are saying they were caused by his dialysis treatment.  He has been released from the hospital and is doing okay now.

THE BACHELOR MAJOR SPOILERS! JAKE PAVELKA WINNER LEAKED!

BUT, Gary Coleman is facing a new challenge.  He is angry about a full frontal shot of his wee-wee in his latest movie and wants it cut from the scene.  Sadly, his lawyers are having to team up to try and fight the scene.

Last night was a lot of fun at the 2010 People’s Choice Awards.  The crowd was friendly.  There was no sign of Kanye West.  All was peaceful and the celebs were beautiful.

The highlight of the night for me was when the gave Johnny Depp the Favorite Actor if the Decade Award.  He SO earned it.  Johnny is one of my all time faves and it got me all emo watching him accept his award.  Bravo Johnny.  You are amazing.  PLUS, we got to see the exclusive FULL trailer for Survivor 20 Heroes VS Villains!  Watch it HERE!

The internet has been buzzing about this so-called sex scandal on The Bachelor involving one of Jake Pavelka’s girls.  The truth behind all of it crazy!

THE BIGGEST LOSER’S JILLIAN MICHAELS COMES OUT OF THE CLOSET!

Rozlyn Papa is in fact the girl involved in this scandal.  It all began when she started freaking out about not getting to see her 7-year old son (yeah! she’s a MOM!) and was having meltdowns.  That was when one of the shows producers stepped in to ‘comfort’ her.  This guy ends up falling for her big time and their flirtatious ways were seen by everyone, including the other ladies.  So naturally, they all start flapping jaws and turn it into a SEX scandal.  ABC eats it up and uses it to boost ratings.

They fired the producer for inappropriate behavior and as you will soon see, they will be kicking Rozlyn off the show!  First time in The Bachelor history!  You will see them escort her to her room to pack her things and remove her from the house!

How mortifying!

The bottom line that needs to be cleared up here is the fact that there was never a SEXUAL AFFAIR.  Rozlyn and the producer flirted and nothing more.  All of that was speculation and jaw flapping by the women in the house.  Not at all surprising.  Insinuation is playing a prominent role in this whole scandal.  ABC has to take advantage of the situation, right?

I guess that Rozlyn Papa will feel like a winner in the end.  She will get to see her son and will have an unemployed producer boyfriend!  Hopefully she’s found happiness at this point.
