Tonight the American Idol finalists were cut down to just 9. The group sang R&B and Soul with the mentoring of Usher last night.  We saw some great performances and a couple not the best.  Overall, I think it was a great night.

Reuben Studdard opened the show and I think he looks the same as he did years ago when he won the American Idol title!

Katie Stevens was the first to head into the bottom three.  No big surprise there.  They sure took a long time to get to it.  Simon and Ryan wouldn’t quit squabbling!

Up next we got a quick look at Justin Bieber right before Usher performed OMG for the ‘half time’ show.  The guy has got serious skills.  Gotta get his new album people!

Didi Benami was the next to go over to the bottom three.  Ugh.  I hate seeing that.  I am a HUGE fan and I don’t think she should be there! Next up Tim Urban went into the bottom three.  I knew he’d be in there.  Katie Stevens was then sent into ‘safety’ while Tim and Didi were left hanging while Diddy performed Dirty Money.

I was bitterly disappointed when Ryan announced that Didi was the one who had to sing for her life.  Aggg!  Time was supposed to go home!  Didi sang for her life to no avail.  I am so bummed right now.

Jesse James is at the center of one of the biggest scandals we’ve seen in Hollywood.  It started out as a scandal all about his sleazy affairs with multiple women (strippers) and now it’s turned into a question of Jesse James’ character when it comes to racism.

We know he was cheating on Sandra Bullock with Michelle McGee, the White Power obsessed stripper.  Now we’ve got these phtoos of Jesse James posing like a Nazi, doing the  ”Heil, Hitler” salute.  He’s got a Nazi plane in the back round as well.

Some want to defend Jesse James, saying that he was being funny, just joking, etc.  Since when is this a joke?  When is it ever funny to mess around like this, as a grown man no less.

Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt must have gotten past the marital issues that we watched in the trailer for the final season of The Hills (watch it here), because this crazy couple has decided to change their names.

Spencer already took on the name, King Spencer but has decided to forego it because it “too much of a burden to have to carry the weight of royalty. ”

So Spencer is now, Running Bear and Heidi is now White Wolf.  Huh?  They believe that these new names will help them in ”are getting more in-tune with our spirituality … and will be known as the name our creator has given us – our true native-AMERICAN names.”

Sure… whenever I see blonde, plastic people…. I think, “they must be Native Americans!”

Yeah.  I don’t get it.

Jesse James was pulled over by police on his way to Arizona.  We weren’t sure why he was headed down there, was he going after Sandra Bullock?  The woman he cheated on repeatedly?  NO, not directly anyhow.  Jesse James was headed to Arizona to check himself into a rehab clinic.  Sierra Tucson specializes in drug, alcohol and sex addiction, as well as other disorders.

The police officer that had pulled Jesse over near Blythe, CA reports that Jesse specifically said he was going to AZ to check into rehab in efforts to save his marriage.

TMZ also called the facility and confirmed with staff there that Jesse James had checked in and was receiving a scheduled treatment at 6pm.

Is this the new trend?  Cheat on your spouse chronically and then check yourself into sex rehab like you have a disease and expect to get sympathy?  What a crock!

UPDATE: Jesse James’ rep has made this statement:

“Jesse checked himself into a treatment facility to deal with personal issues,” his rep said in a statement. “He realized that this time was crucial to help himself, help his family and help save his marriage.”

Here’s the poster for the upcoming dance sequel, Step Up 3D.

This movie couldn’t possibly be any good could it? Making it 3D sure gives them a gimmick to make more money from the franchise. I spent a day on the set of this movie and it’s definitely filled with dance movie clichés.

Yes 24 may be ending, but this gives the perfect opportunity for Fox to make the movie they’ve been planning.

According to the New Hollywood Reporter, the show’s producer Howard Gordon has given the film script the go ahead. It’ll be written by the same screenwriter who did State of Play and Shattered Glass, and could be out as soon “as early as next year, depending on how things come together,” said Gordon.

And the film is trying something completely different from the show by taking out the “real time” aspect. Gordon says over the years, that’s what has made the show so predictable.

“We’ve done everything we feel we can do with that character in this format,” Gordon said. “The opportunity [of a movie] is not to use the real-time aspect and also to do it on a scale the TV show never allowed.”

I’m more likely to watch a 2 hour movie than even one season of the show, so this sounds good to me. I’m sure fans will be clamoring to see the movie when it hits theaters.

Yes, I will admit it.  I am bummed that The Hills is ending.  I have a very guilty pleasure in watching the show, thanks to my sister introducing it to me.

But, at least we will get a power packed final 12 episodes.  The trailer that MTV released is crazy.  I am pumped… mostly for the part where Heidi’s mom has to talk to her about her plastic face!

Heidi talks divorce and we all know it ain’t gonna happen.  I am sure she and Spencer will have a knock down, drag out fight, then end up knocked up by the end….

I wanted to share this new app. I got on my iPhone.  It’s for all American Idol fans who want to help their favorite contestants get as many votes as possible, as fast as possible.  I was always a text voter before this app, but this is SO much quicker and easier!
