2010 American Idol Top 11 – Casey James ‘The Power of Love’ (Video)

American Idol - Casey James

This week it’s the Top 11 on American Idol season 9.  Last week we had to say goodbye to one of my faves, Lacey Brown.  Who’s going to go home this week?  It was a Billboard Top 100 theme for the Idol contestants last night.  Some brought their best and some, not so much.

Kara’s crush Casey James sang ‘The Power of Love’ by Huey Lewis and the News.  It was a pretty good job, just not very original. But the boy can sing and he look great doing it!

My girl Didi Benami sang ‘You’re No Good’ by Linda Ronstadt.  The pitchy issues kind of bit her in the butt.  I really hope that it doesn’t show in the votes.  I still really enjoyed Didi’s performance.

I am still loving on Andrew Garcia.  His sound is stellar and I hope his performance of Marvin Gaye’s ‘I heard It Through The Grapevine’ keeps him around for another week.  Watch below: (Read the article)

The judges favorite, Crystal Bowersox sang Janis Joplin’s ‘Me and Bobby McGee.’  Crystal is too talented for words and EVERYONE knows it.  Oh, and she got Miley Cyrus to sign her guitar. ;)

Katie Stevens did an amazing job last week, for the first time I really liked her.  Then this week she sang Fergie’s ‘Big Girls Don’t Cry’ giving it a pretty good rendition.  I wasn’t as impressed as last week.

Saoirse Ronan Is Beautiful For Seventeen Singapore (SCANS)

Saoirse Ronan Covers Seventeen Singapore March 2010

The Lovely Bones just opened in Singapore, so it makes sense that Irish star Saoirse Ronan is on the cover of that country’s Seventeen (March 2010).

Saoirse (pronounced Seer-sha), who is 15,  is so pretty and fresh faced.     Here are some excerpts from the interview:

On friends and fame: Most of them are pretty cool about it.  I think my real friends are anyway. And they treat me in exactly the same way as they always have.

On her early reservations about doing the movie: I hadn’t read the book at that point, and when I heard what it was about, I talked about it with my mum and dad, and we questioned whether I should do it at all because it seemed so heavy.

On what changed her mind: Well, they sent over a few scenes for me to do, and my Dad put me on tape and sent it back.  Then I read the script, and it was just incredible.  It’s awful what happens to Susie – absolutely terrible – but the script, like the book, is beautiful and funny and actually it’s full of hope too.  At the end you just can’t help but feel like you’ve been changed in some way.

On filming in New Zealand with director Peter Jackson: It’s the most beautiful country, and the people are so laid back and so welcoming.  I loved it there and I felt right at home.

Keep watching this girl – I think she’s going to be the next Emma Watson.

‘Narnia: Dawn Treader’ and ‘Gulliver’s Travels’ Go 3D for Holidays

Cronicles of Narnia 3 Still3D Glasses

Fox has decided to release both The Cronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader and Gulliver’s Travels in 3D this December.

Earlier today, a rumor started circulating the internet that 20th Century Fox will release both The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader and Gulliver’s Travels in 3D this December. ComingSoon.net has confirmed through our source that it is indeed the case – the studio will be adding a third dimension to those twoholiday films.

The Michael Apted-directed third installment of the “Narnia” franchise is scheduled for a December 10 release, followed by the Jack Black-starring fantasy action adventure Gulliver’s Travels on December 22.

3D is clearly here to stay, Avatar was a true revolution in 3D acceptance. It’s only going to get more and more immersive as the technology gets better and better. Regardless of the changes, I think there will always be a place for the good old fashioned 2D movie.

First ‘Twilight: Eclipse’ Poster Arrives

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse

Here’s the first poster for the upcoming movie The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.

This couldn’t get any more basic. You would think they could put more effort into the poster for the third movie in the series. I guess they don’t have to do much to get people to watch it, it’s guaranteed to have a huge audience. This poster is bad though, it almost looks fan-made.
