Designing Women star, Dixie Carter has died at the age of 70.  Her husband of 26 years, Hal Holbrook broke the saddening news,

“This has been a terrible blow to our family … We would appreciate everyone understanding that this is a private family tragedy. Thank you.”

The family does not want to release Dixie’s cause of death or where she was when she passed.

Dixie Carter is also survived by her two daughters, Mary Dixie and Ginna.  She was a Southern Belle, native to Tennessee.

Kenny Chesney‘s concert documentary DVD, Summer In 3D, releases next week, so he went on Oprah to pimp it.  Oprah Winfrey can’t let anyone on her show without asking them a bunch of questions they probably don’t want to answer, so of course she asked Kenny about his brief 2005 marriage to Renee Zellweger.   Kenny said:

“I look at it as a box, my life as a box… so everything that I put in … learning how to play guitar – put in that box, friends I made – I put in that box. My career grew and everything around me, all the awards and all the songs I wrote and all the success, everything, I put in that box. And that box grew to this wonderful house.

You protect everything and all the relationships and all the people that helped you build that house… I protected that box and I didn’t know if I could do both.”

Kenny sure does know how to mix his metaphors.  He didn’t have time for Renee?  Didn’t trust her?   Didn’t want her in his box???

Oh. My. Word.  We are in for it now people.  Tila Tequila has found a new way to torment us.  As if her naked Ustream rants (see them here), false pregnancies, and freakish blog weren’t enough.  Tila is coming out as ‘Miss Tila‘ in an attempt to launch her music career.

Her debut single, I love My DJ will hit stores next week.   Then her debut EP, Welcome to the Darkside will drop net month.  Um, can we please make it stop, please?

Taking time off from Dancing With The Stars, Pamela Anderson launched her signature ‘Vanilla Vegan Shake‘ at Millions of Milkshakes in West Hollywood yesterday, drawing quite a crowd.  Continuing her fight against animal cruelty with PeTA, Pammy flashed her best stuff for the cameras.

The Jersey Shore cast took to South Beach down in Miami to start filming the second season of the MTV show.  I’d say that they fit in just fine down there but have no fear, they will be returning to their true Jersey shore to film the end of the season when the temps get a little hotter up there and they can show their tans off comfortably.

Anna Torv and Mark Valley had a quicky, quiet wedding at the end of 2008 and have already ended it.  The former couple costarred on Fox’s Fringe.

Mark has moved on from Fringe and now stars on Human Target.  So, that should help keep things more ‘comfortable’ at FOX.

Suri Cruise was spotted in Katie Holmes‘ trailer on the set of ‘Son of No One‘ in her jammies and drinking a baby bottle. Suri will be 4 years old in 8 days.  Isn’t it time to wean her?  I mean if she’s ready for high heels and red lipstick, shouldn’t she give up the bottle?  Or is the new parenting trend and I missed the memo?

James Van Der Beek and his gorgeous girlfriend, Kimberly Brook are having a baby in the fall!  This is the first child for both.  James Tweeted his joy,

“Yes, it’s true – the woman I love and I are expecting our first child.  Currently experiencing joy on levels I never knew existed.”

Aww, so sweet!

Van Der Beek divorced Heather Ann McComb in November but they have been split up for about one year.

I expect wedding bells soon!  Congrats to the happy couple!
