Elvis Presley Died Of Chronic Constipation? (Photos)
Elvis Presley’s physician, Dr. George ‘Nick’ Nichopoulos has revealed that the King of Rock and Roll died due to chronic constipation.
It was reported in 1977 that Presley died due to cardiac arrhythmia, an irregular heartbeat problem that arises due to taking drugs, obesity and a weak heart. But Presley’s long time friend and physician Nick has now revealed that he died due to chronic constipation, Fox News reports.
“After he died we weren’t sure of the exact cause of death so I continued to do some research and I had some doctors call me from different places and different med schools that were doing research on constipation and different problems you can get into with it. I just want to get the story straight, it all made sense with the new research that was done.”
He recently released a book called ‘The King and Dr Nick’, it reveals his time with Presley and his theory on his shocking death.
“We didn’t realize until the autopsy that his constipation was as bad, we knew it was bad because it was hard for us to treat, but we didn’t realize what it had done. We just assumed that the constipation was secondary to the meds that he was taking for his arthritic pain and for his insomnia.”
Elvis Presley’s colon was 5 to 6 inches in diameter as compared to a normal width of 2 to 3 inches, and instead of being the 4 to 5 feet long, his colon was 8 to 9 feet in length.
Could it be true? Did the King died from constipation. This is one of those stories I wish I didn’t see. It’s heartbreaking.

What Dr. Nick said has been incorrectly summarized. Elvis Presley did NOT die of constipation. The REAL medical issues that Elvis had were legitimate such as: sleep walking, sleep apenea, insomina, allergic reaction to penecillin, problems with his eyes due to constant flash bulbs going off night after night for years, pain in his hands/arms, buring sensations throughout his body, etc. Elvis took pills to help him sleep. Pills to help him get awake. Pills to help him focus/feel better. Many of these pills, all Physcian ordered, have side effects which can adversely affect the digestive system. Also Elvis was allergic to certain foods and the allergic reaction was Elvis would bloat up, his face would be puffy, he would not feel well, etc.
Elvis had constant throat, and ear, issues and it got worse in Las Vegas.
If Dr. Nick had of undertaken EXTENSIVE BLOOD TESTS to look for immune deficiency diseases I would venture to say that Elvis would have been diagnosed with this. One of the effects of this disease is that the person has problems breaking down the food while inside the colon for their cellular composition does not break down foods like a normal persons body would. The weeks prior to Elvis Death he mentioned time and again problem with his hands, burning sensation all over, and feeling sore in his joints and glands. This is EXACTLY the symptoms of someone with immune defiency disease.
So, in a way Dr. Nick is right about Elvis having constipation but the reason he had it was because, I believe, he suffered from other diseases which were undiagnosed.
