Former NHL L.A. Kings hockey star, Mark Hardy who is now assistant coaching for the team was arrested this morning in Washington D.C. for allegedly sexually abusing his own daughter (21), TMZ reports.

Mark Hardy’s daughter told police that he  ”put his hand down [her] shorts and touched her genital area without her permission.”

Hardy was arrested at the Mayflower Hotel where the crime was allegedly committed.

Mark Hardy will face the judge later today on misdemeanor sexual abuse charges.

The L.A. Kings haven’t made a statement as of yet.  Stay tuned.

UPDATE: TMZ has just received a statement from L.A. Kings saying simply, “We are aware of the charge.  Due to the legal nature of this matter, we will not have any additional comments at this time.”
