Well, you’re not going to find out here. Kim Kardashian is the latest celebrity trying to convince us that she’s “brave” enough to be photographed without makeup. She appears in Life & Style Weekly – the same issue that broke the Kendra Wilkinson/Hank Baskett drama – claiming to be makeup-free.
Except that she’s obviously wearing some. Or, more likely, she didn’t wear any for the photoshoot but then the picture was Photoshopped before it was published. Which is kind of the same thing. Do these celebs (and magazines) think we’re stupid?
So why did Kim do this?
‘Make-up just enhances beauty. It makes you look more rested and even-toned. I use it to give my whole face a little more colour since it’s so pale in comparison to my body. Make-up is fun, but it’s just another accessory. I’m happy with myself, and this is who I am. As much as it’s fun to glam up, the most important thing is to be comfortable in your own skin – with or without make-up.’
To be honest, it’s kind of nice to see Kim K. without all the war paint she usually has on. But it’s also important to be clear that “natural” isn’t a synonym for “less makeup than usual.”
