I thoroughly enjoyed American Idol last night. I love Frank Sinatra and both of his daughters were in the audience and they even gave Simon Cowell one of Frank’s hankies! That’s a huge honor! I was thrilled for Simon!
Harry Connick Jr. mentored the final five contestants and did an amazing job. He spent so much time with thema nd even played with the band for their performances. I thought that was so generous and showed what a great guy he is.
Lee Dewyze owned the show. I think that this is now his title to lose. Crystal Bowersox somehow seems to be fading. I still think she’s an unbelievable talent. But I feel America leaning towards Lee. I know I am. Lee Dewyze is my first choice. I will be buying every album he makes. Love him!
My least favorite performance was Casey James. I have been over him for a long time. And I was SO happy when Kara called him out on his sheep thing. I have been annoyed by that sound he makes forever! But no one ever said anything so I thought I was the only one! Ha! Sadly for Casey, I believe he’s going home tonight.
Bottom three prediction: Casey James, Big Mike, and Aaron Kelly.
Tonight we get down to the final four! I can’t believe it’s already this time! This season flew by!
Check back in a bit for the full recap and final results!
UPDATE Recap:
The Top 5 kicked off tonight with a Rat Pack performance. I loved Crystal in a suit. It was hot!
I so enjoyed seeing a look behind the scenes. I think we all tend to forget just how much work the contestants really put into these shows!
It was no shocker when Lee was the first to be safe. Then we got a performance by Lady Gaga singing, Alejandro. I sure wish she’d do a performance in jeans and a T-shirt. Can you imagine?
Harry Connick Jr. performed next. I think he’s simply amazing. The guy has some of the best pipes, ever. Definitely my favorite mentor thus far.
Up next we got the bottom two. Big Mike and Aaron Kelly landed in the gutter. So, I was wrong about Casey! After the break, Aaron got sent home. He was very emotional. I felt bad for him.
Good luck to you Aaron! You have a bright future!
