I was happy to see that Katy Perry didn’t wear a rain coat to the Costume Institute Gala Benefit in NYC last night. She was Tweeting about it and was wondering what she’d show up in!  But Katy turned out nicely!  She looked like a complete class act and no where near her usual red carpet fashion statements.  Loved the dress and all that leg was hot!  Well done Katy!

The Costume Institute Gala Benefit to celebrate the opening of the ‘American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity’ exhibition was held at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.  There were all sorts of fashion statements being made.  Some fabulous and some well… just look at Kristen Stewart.  Yikes.

Anyhow, I have awarded Jessica Alba with the Best Dressed Award and Kristen Stewart won the Worst Dressed honors by a mile.  Did I get it right?

I love it!  I think they are too cute together!  Charlize Theron and Keanu Reeves seem to be the hottest new item in Hollywood.  The cute couple was spotted out in Beverly Hills last night leaving a romantic dinner at Bouchon.  As they were saying goodbye, they had a nice little PDA session that included Charlize’s arms under his jacket.  Ohh la la! Love it!

Kristin Davis is on the cover of Red (UK) for June 2010.  I am not sure I understand what Kristin is doing here in the photo… exercising?  Auditioning for a circus?   ?????   However, she has lots of good stuff to say about Sex And The City and how it helped her hit the big time.  Check it out:

That has been my entire career. But never at work. No one at Sex And the City has ever asked any of us four girls to lose weight. Thank God.’

On being an “older” actress – and loving it: Remember when we were young, the actresses that we liked? They were young, even though they seemed older to us. And you thought that you had to make it in your 20s, like if you weren’t going to make it on your 20s, you weren’t going to make it. So the fact I would be turning 45 and be the busiest, most successful I’ve ever been is very, very odd. And it is all because of Sex and the City, really.’

I think I would have done okay without it, but I don’t think any of us would have had this kind of career at this age if it hadn’t been for the larger thing Sex and the City turned out to be, culturally. I do feel incredibly lucky.’

Ellen Page isn’t exactly known for being an action star, so she’s definitely been cast against type in Christopher Nolan‘s new movie Inception.   She dug the experience, though!  Ellen said:

“I’m definitely involved with the action, which was so enjoyable.  There were times, especially at the beginning, where I felt incredibly out of place and slightly confused as to how I got cast. It was the most action I’ve ever been involved in.  Chris is doing things we’ve never seen before.  Visually, this film is going to be unbelievable.”

Awww, look – our little Juno is growing up!  This movie looks absolutely nuts!  But that’s Christopher Nolan for you.  Check it out in theaters on July 16th.

Finally!  ESPN’s Erin Andrews can breath a tiny bit easier.  One of the men who’s all but destroyed her life checked into prison today.  Michael David Barrett began his 30 month sentence for stalking Erin and doing that whole nude peephole video thing. CREEPY.

Barrett is serving his time in Atlanta, GA.

Now if the authorities would stop giving Erin’s other “stalker” guy the freedom of speech, maybe she could live her life normally again.

It looks like Shakira isn’t getting a warm welcome from South Africa, who is hosting their first World Cup, kicking off on June 10.  The Columbian singer is supposed to be singing, Waka Waka alongside Freshlyground, before the July 11 World Cup final at the 94,000-seat Soccer City stadium near Soweto.

Fans in Africa heard the song released on local radio stations last week and they aren’t having it.

“It’s horrible,” local fan Lindi Munonde said. “I’m not standing for it. I mean what is our president doing about it?”

“Really, I mean, how is Shakira going to sing the African part of it?” said Nomaswazi Thomo, another local fan from Johannesburg.

I think that Dina and Lindsay Lohan were making some big wishes and perhaps even seeing a Voodoo doctor.  Why?  Because Michael Lohan’s airplane was hit by lightning on his way to Los Angeles.

His plane made a scheduled layover in Atlanta but he ended up having to switch planes because the plane was really damaged!  Michael said, “You know Dina was praying for it.”
