Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise attended Britain’s National Movie Awards yesterday.  Poor Katie.  She looks really tired and she wore WAY too much makeup to cover it up.   She also evidently didn’t have time to shop for a new dress, so she borrowed one that Jennifer Lopez wore six months ago.    Not a good choice, for either one of them.

Tommy received a screen icon award, which was presented to him by Gwyneth Paltrow.  He looked like the same little gay elf he always looks like. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

Rihanna‘s new video, Rockstar 101, has something for everyone.  Ri-Ri in chains.  Ri-Ri bending over and showing off her butt.  Ri-Ri writhing around on the floor.  Ri-Ri wearing various scary looking headpieces.  Ri-Ri giving us a view of her cleavage.  Ri-Ri dressed as Slash (who is featured on the song), stroking off a guitar.

Freak show.

This video reminds me of something Janet Jackson might have done in the 1990s.   Pure pop. The song has a great beat and is super catchy, but Rihanna honey, you’re no rock star.

Tonight it the last night we see Simon Cowell on American Idol.  He moves on to his hit show, X-Factor as he brings it to the States and I can’t wait!  I can hardly believe the 2010 American Idol season is over!

Last night was difficult to watch for me.  Being a HUGE Lee DeWyze fan, I felt bad for his nerves.  The judges weren’t feeling Lee’s performances and I just wanted to jump up there and hug him.  To be honest, I wasn’t blown away by Crystal Bowersox either.  She did good. But, it wasn’t a thrilling night.  They each sang 3 songs, but they didn’t give me chills.

Last week Lee had me in tears during both songs.  I felt every word.  Last night left me feeling a bit let down and empty.

That said, I am still 110% on Team Lee and I put in my bazillion votes to prove it.  Lee deserves this ‘W’ and he should come out on top.   Even if he doesn’t, his career is going to be HUGE.

WOW!!  What an amazing show.  Very well done American Idol!  Loved the tributes to Simon.  But mostly, I love that I can officially say that LEE DEWYZE is the 2010 AMERICAN IDOL!!!  Congrats Lee!  I knew you had it!  Can’t wait to buy your first album!

Shrek Forever After was the top moneymaker this past weekend, easily taking the #1 slot over Iron Man 2 which still did well at #2. SNL comedy MacGruber opened to an incredibly disappointing #6 with merely $4 million! The only other new movie opening on the chart was Kites which opened at #10 with less than $1 million.

Candie’s Foundation spokeswoman Bristol Palin dons enough evening gowns to outfit a beauty pageant in the current issue of Harper’s Bazaar.

Bristol’s no model, but she’s plenty cute and wholesome looking.  The pictures are kind of fun, especially the ones with her baby Tripp. And as you would expect, Bristol’s got plenty to say about his daddy, Levi Johnston:

“I just ignore [him]. He is a stranger to me…I don’t want to get into it. It’s just dirty laundry…I’m in no rush. One day I’ll find a nice guy.”

In addition to her work with Candie’s, Bristol is a medical assistant and is working on a college degree.

Most stars will tell you about the expensive beauty products they use – or try to deny the Botox treatments – but not Kylie Minogue.  She not only cops to having had Botox injections, but admits to using a seriously frugal beauty regimen to keep herself looking good.

“I’ve been honest about the fact that I did use Botox. But I don’t any more, I won’t go near it. I have lines. You can see the lines on my face.”

So what’s Kylie using instead?  Good old Pond;s Cold Cream.

“It’s really changed my skin.  I use it every day. It’s all I really use to look after my skin.  It’s such an old classic. My mum uses it. I wanted to see what all the fuss was about and it really does work. It’s made such a difference.”

Talk about humble!  Can you just imagine her going to Walgreen’s for her cold cream?  Just a regular girl!

Lady Gaga made her parents’ anniversary a bit more special this year.  She surprised them with a Rolls Royce!

She had the car delivered to their door wrapped in a big bow, just like in the commercials, with a note that said, “A car to last like a love like yours.”

She said:

“I bought my parents a car. It’s a Rolls-Royce. It’s black. My dad’s very Italian, so I wanted to get him a real Godfather car. I had it delivered on their wedding anniversary.”

I love it.  A Godfather car for her Italian dad.  Mama and Papa Gaga thought it was just a car for them to drive for the day, but when they learned that it was a gift to keep, her dad cried.  Awwww!   This is what celebrities should do with their money – make the people they love happy.  Yay!
