Publicity whore Heidi Montag filed for legal separation from her douchebag husband Spencer Pratt today at a Santa Monica courthouse.

She cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the separation.  That was probably because there was no box on the form for “need reality show fodder.”

Big congratulations to Prince of Persia hottie Gemma Arterton, who tied the knot with Italian businessman Stefano Catelli on a hilltop in Spain… a very romantic setting for a very romantic couple.  Gemma has said of their “whirlwind” romance:

‘It was absolutely instant.  I remember going home the night after I met him and writing in my diary that I’d met the man I’m going to marry.  I gave that diary entry to him for his birthday two weeks later. But it didn’t freak him out, because he was thinking the same thing.  I just really want to spend the rest of my life with him. He’s an amazing man.’

Kristen Stewart and her Twilight: New Moon ilk may have won big (four awards!) at the MTV Movie Awards, but she will be winning no fashion honors from this blogger.  In short:  I hate her taste in clothing.  And although she looked prettier last night than I’ve seen her in awhile, I thought her dress did nothing for her at all.   Like most of the clothes you see her wearing on the red carpet.  Kristen’s not a fashion disaster, she just picks the wrong clothes.  I get that maybe she’s trying to channel some kind of Angelina Jolie-like simplicity and economy of fashion, but she’s not pulling it off the way Angie does.  Someone please get this girl a stylist!

Gorgeous supermodel Linda Evangelista is adding a new gig to an already-lengthy list of modeling jobs.  She has signed on as the new face of Talbots.

Talbots is undergoing a major rebranding, and it’s clear they’re really trying to jazz up their rather conservative image:  Linda’s ad campaign was shot by fab photogs Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot.    Check it out in fashion mags this fall.

Congratulations to singer Alanis Morissette, who reportedly married rapper Souleye (aka Mario Treadway) last month in Los Angeles.  The couple had been dating since October 2009.

Here we go again with the Katherine Heigl Emmy drama.  ‘Member how two years ago she turned down an Emmy nomination because she didn’t feel she was given good enough material to work with?   Well, that’s evidently not a problem this year.  Katherine has reportedly submitted herself for an award for playing Dr. Isobel Stevens on Grey’s Anatomy.

Which is kind of hypocritical since she’s recently said she didn’t even like Izzie anymore.

“I felt very protective of Izzie. I really loved her.  I felt she was an admirable woman who certainly made mistakes. But I was starting to not like her, and that bothered me.”

Now there is something that Kathy and I agree on.  I haven’t liked Izzie for several seasons now.  She’s one of the reasons I stopped watching Grey’s.   But I still can’t believe the ego on this woman.  She needs a serious smackdown!

Miley Cyrus wants her fans to just forget about her (pretend) kissing another girl during her Britain’s Got Talent performance earlier this week.  She posted on her blog:

“GET OVER IT! NOTHING HAPPENED. THERE ARE WAYYYYYYY MORE IMPORTANT
THINGS IN THE WORLD.
”

Fine, I agree.  There are more important things in the world.  However.  There’s only one reason Miley would have chosen to add that titillating tidbit to her show, and that is to get attention.  Now that she’s got it, she’s pretending she doesn’t want it.  You can’t self-generate the buzz and then complain about it.

This just in:  Helena Bonham Carter attended the BAFTA British Academy Television Awards today (June 6th) in London and looked pretty cute!  I am documenting this moment for posterity because I can’t be sure I’ll ever have the opportunity to say it again.

Nevermind that she wore the same dress and hat to the French premiere of Alice In Wonderland a couple of months ago.  It looked cute then and it still looks cute now.    I even like the waist cincher she accessorized with this time around.  I’m not even sure why, but somehow this works.

Accompanying Helena was her wacky but genius husband Tim Burton.  They are so freakin’ weird but they always look very happy together, probably because their respective weirdness complements each other so well.
