Much to the joy of Lord of the Rings fans everywhere Peter Jackson is taking over as the director of the two upcoming Hobbit films after the surprising recent departure of Guillermo Del Toro.
In what amounts to a dream come true for fans of Middle Earth, Peter Jackson has decided to direct two installments of The Hobbit, trusted sources are telling me. His deal is being negotiated right now with Warner Bros , New Line, and MGM. He will shortly take the reins over from Guillermo del Toro, after Jackson extricates himself from other project obligations that caused Jackson and manager Ken Kamins to initially deny he would direct. While Jackson’s camp has been tight-lipped, I’m told that the case is being made to MGM’s owners to loosen the purse strings and make the movies happen. The impetus for these talks is that Jackson will be the director of both of The Hobbit films, which will be shot back-to-back in his New Zealand backyard. The secret’s out.
Great news! I can’t think of another director besides Guillermo Del Toro or Peter Jackson who could possibly do The Hobbit justice. Hopefully everything falls into place and they can get shooting so we can see The Hobbit: Part 1 in December of 2012 (as promised).

Lady Gaga is having some serious family drama these days and it’s all over her little sister, Natali. She just graduated from high school and she wants to follow in Gaga’s footsteps and apparently the parents, Joseph and Cynthia aren’t to supportive of those footsteps because they don’t want Natali to pursue a pop career.

“Natali asked to come along on Gaga’s tour as an apprentice, singing backup. They are worried that Natali will follow in Gaga’s workaholic footsteps.”
They even went public in NYC at a restaurant,
“Gaga walked out after a screaming match with her dad. Natali was in tears. Gaga is not speaking to her father, and friends are worried that with her main support system shaken, Gaga could wind up an emotional wreck.”
Wow. That’s pretty intense. But I can definitely see where the parents are coming from. Would you want your little girl to be just like Lady Gaga?

Bethenny Frankel is talking about leaving The Real Housewives of New York City after the non-stop drama and stress with the other ladies, I think it’s pretty understandable. She told In Touch,
“If the cast is the same, I don’t think I want to go back.”
She’s got more important things going on in her life since getting married and having her beautiful baby girl. Bethenny is focusing on her “chickpea,” (Bryn),
“She’s moved from the bassinet to the crib!”
And then there’s her hit show, Bethenny Getting Married?,
“I can’t believe it! The truth is, my fans love me, and I love them,” she said.
I commend Bethenny for setting her priorities in the right order. She has a family to consider now. She should be in the best/happiest place for herself and all the rest will fall into place.

Orlando Bloom finally popped the question on Miranda Kerr and now she’s sporting an amazingly huge and expensive engagement ring!
We got our first glimpse of the rock when Kerr was out in Hollywood this week. It’s an oval diamond set on a white gold or platinum band. It has an estimated 3-4 carats and could run as high as $65,000. Wow! Gorgeous ring, I would be so worried about losing it or getting mugged!
