A-Team actress Jessica Biel landed the cover of Glamour UK for August. Biel, who works out regularly and fasts to get her enviable body says she is not above skipping her exercise routine or chowing down one day a week:

“I’m not a perfect person who doesn’t mess up, eat bad, not work out–I do all those things,” Biel tells the magazine. “When I’m working and I eat healthily all week, I then give myself one day–usually Sunday–when I just eat what I want. You have to, otherwise your mind goes a little nutso.”

Unfortunately, nothing she does will make her look flattering in that terrible fuzzy nonsense of a dress that was chosen to use for the cover shot. Why use that terrible washed out thistle color? She’s a pretty girl and who gets overpowered by the vibrant typeface against the dusty color of her clothing. Bad editors! Bad!

Model Miranda Kerr is looks relaxed and beautiful (of course!) on the cover of Germany’s Jolie magazine. The Victoria’s Secret Angel was recently engaged to Orlando Bloom, landed Prada’s Fall/Winter ad campaign and is one of Forbes magazine’s highest earning models list.

It is a common practice in the world of magazine publishing to re-use photos of celebrities on the covers and embellish or enhance (eh hem…) them a bit with photoshop. Sometimes it’s something as innocuous seeming as changing the hue of the celeb’s outfit to match the typeface color they have chosen for that month. Often one magazine edition will score an interview/photo shoot with a celebrity and then recycle that exact image for editions in other countries (Elle Magazine – I’m looking at you!)

While this is nothing new, for whatever reason these Jennifer Lopez covers stand out to me. Maybe it’s the awkward angle of her head and shoulders or that she’s smiling (a rarity in the JLo cover world) – something seems off in these shots of the gorgeous Jenny from the Block. Joy magazine (the Czech Republic and Bulgaria editions) Marie Claire Australia and Be France all have this kinda odd shot of Lopez. Not to mention I’m sure she’d be so p*ssed off because we all know Jennifer would never be seen in the same outfit twice.

Creed frontman, Scott Stapp and his wife Jaclyn welcomed a son on Sundsay (July 4.)  They named him Daniel Issam Stapp when he arrived at 3:01 p.m.

Scott announced the happy news to his fans via Twitter,

“It is such a true blessing to be a father and husband.  Again, I am reminded of how deeply I love, how deeply I respect, how deeply I admire and how deeply I appreciate my best friend, my only love, my wife — Jaclyn.”

The happy family already has two kids, Milan Hayat (3) and Jagger (11.)  Congrats!

“We’re very excited about that. We do have names picked out but we’re going to keep them to ourselves until further notice.”

That is so sweet and so exciting for them!  They already have a boy and girl, Griffin and Hannah so they will be keeping things nice and even and will have some great helpers for their double blessing.

New York Yankees owner, George Steinbrenner died this morning after suffering a “massive” heart attack, TMZ has confirmed.  He just celebrated his 80th birthday on the fourth of July.

Steinbrenner was rushed to St. Joseph’s hospital in Tampa and was later pronounced dead.

A rep for the Steinbrenner family released a statement,

“It is with profound sadness that the family of George M. Steinbrenner III announces his passing. He passed away this morning in Tampa, Fla., at age 80.  Funeral arrangements will be private. There will be an additional public service with details to be announced at a later date.”
