Leonardo DiCaprio is likely to star in a new film called The Wolf of Wall Street. The film is likely to be directed by Ridley Scott and produced by Martin Scorsese.

Scorsese and DiCaprio nearly did the project together two years ago, but it got stalled in a tug of war between Warner Bros–where the project was developed–and Paramount, the latter of which gave Scorsese a rich overall deal. Instead, Scorsese and DiCaprio teamed on an adaptation of the Dennis Lehane novel Shutter Island.  The Wolf of Wall Street is still in the process of being figured out for budget and distribution, but Scott loves the script by Terry Winter (the writer/producer of The Sopranos and the upcoming HBO series Boardwalk Empire). It is funny, dramatic and fast paced, and manages to make something of a sympathetic character out of a stockbroker who supervises a cadre of brokers who squeezed clients to buy stocks that paid off–for the brokers, who used the funds to live extravagantly until they were brought down by the feds.

Quite the team coming together for this one, sounds like it would be good. Hopefully the humor factor is strong, I’m not to big on financial dramas.

Titanic is being re-released in theaters in 3D in 2012, probably in April.

It looks like Cameron talked about the 3D release at the 100th birthday party for Gloria Stuart, who played the older Rose in the film. While it’s not a direct quote, the article said:

…said the director, who’s converting the blockbuster into 3-D for re-release in April 2012, the 100th anniversary of the ship’s sinking.

The date makes sense as the RMS Titanic set off on April 10, 1912 and struck an iceberg and sank on April 14.

I really don’t care about this, but I guess a lot of people love that movie. I’d rather he re-release The Abyss in 3D, that’s a far better movie in my opinion.

Real Housewives of Orange County‘s Alexis Bellino should be put in jail with her husband Jim.  The almost killed their toddlers on the 4th of July at The Balboa Bay Club in Newport Beach, CA.

TMZ has reported that during the party, Alexis and her husband Jim were off “doing something” and not paying any attention to their toddlers in the stroller when it fell into the pool.

The security officers on scene said that a lifeguard pulled the stroller out of the water with one child still in it. Alexis’ husband dove in to save the other one.

But of course Jim tries to belittle the situation saying, “There was no lifeguard needed or involved.”

Thankfully the babies weren’t harmed and they came out of it okay.  BUT, they could have died.  Talk about negligent parents!  Makes me sick.

So it’s official.  Lindsay Lohan has been sentenced to 90 days in jail.  We all know that she will never serve that many days.  I don’t even know why they sentence for that long when the inmate never serves the full term.  What is the point?  I guess it makes girls like Lilo cry more in court and has more dramatic effect.

Whatever. The worst part about the whole thing?  Lindsay doesn’t have to start her sentence until July 20.  That is way too much time for this girl to get super freaked out about it and well, you know she’s gong to screw up in the next 13 days.  Drugs and alcohol are for sure going to be an issue.  I am sure she is feeling like she has nothing to lose.  I wish that Judge Marsha Revel would have sent her straight to jail… do not pass go, do not collect $200, do not get desperate and do something really stupid.

Ugh.  I am worried for Lindsay.  I think she’s going to do something really bad in the next few days.  I hope she gets a good support system going, like now.  I don’t want to see this end badly.

You know Lilo’s attitude about this whole thing isn’t good.  With the phrase “F*ck U” written on her middle fingernail, aimed right at the judge, her frame of mind is definitely not in a good place.

How do you think this is all going to turn out?  With Lindsay ‘man up’ and do the right thing?  Will she take her sentencing and move on?   Or is she going to go down with a BANG?

Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green were married in a sunset ceremony on June 24  in Hawaii.  The only person invited was Brian’s adorable son, Kassius (8.)

The “I Do’s” were said on the beautiful sandy beach in front of the Four Seasons in Ka’upulehu.  A local priest presided.

The Bachelorette‘s Jillian Harris and Ed Swiderski have called off their engagement, Us reports.

“I love him and I’m really sad, but I have to look out for me,” Harris, 29, tells Us.

Adds Swiderski, 30, “We’re both kind of resetting. Jillian isn’t happy and I’m definitely sad about the whole thing, but we’ve got to work through some things on our own if we decide to move forward.”

Jillian continued,

“There’s bumps on the road, and we don’t always deal with them properly.  Our life is not always perfect.”

Joseph Gordon-Levitt is beautiful in blue for the cover of Details magazine August issue. The actor, who grew up playing Tommy Solomon on television’s wacky and great show 3rd Rock from the Sun says he fell into a funk after the cancellation of the hit.

“I was scared and depressed for a while. Not that I had any reason to f–king be depressed—I mean, I was going to college and everything. It was not like I was hungry. But absolutely. I was like, ‘S–t, I don’t know if anybody’s gonna let me act. They’ll let me be in another sitcom, but I don’t want to do that.”

JGL has always come across as a fairly laid back dude and he is open about lighting up occassionally:

“When I was in high school, I loved smoking weed. I loved it. But I cut myself to once a month. That was my rule. And so as the first of the month came closer, my friends would be like, ‘All right, what’s the plan this weekend?’ And actually it’s really cool—when you do it that infrequently, you can really trip. In hindsight, could I have smoked weed on the weekends? Yeah. But it was cool to do it once a month. I still do that sometimes—I go on little weedfests. I’m a pothead. That’s my drug of choice.”

I love love love Gordon-Levitt. I thought he was fantastic in Mysterious Skin and Brick and how could you not enjoy (500) Days of Summer? I cannot wait to see Inception and how he plays off of Leonardo DiCaprio and Ellen Page.

Watching a television show about Bering Sea crab fishermen is not supposed to make you sob. It’s not supposed to make you reflect on the frailties of life and the strength of the bonds of family and friends. Unscripted and raw at times, Deadliest Catch on the Discovery Channel is heading into new waters at the reality show begins to air the final days of the life of Captain Phil Harris. The intense heartbreak that next week’s episode will bring (July 20th is the season finale and Phil’s life and death will be featured,) only makes tonight’s show that much more poignant.

As viewers watched tonight’s episode ‘Cain & Abel’ we witness the demise of the beloved Capt. Phil. The skipper of the F/V Cornelia Marie succumbed to a stroke in February while off loading crab and although it appeared he would recover at first, the larger-than-life man behind the wheel did not make it to fish again.

Tonight Phil was in the hospital in intensive care, surrounded by his sons Josh and Jake Harris and his long time friend Captain Johnathan Hillstrand. The Harris boys have been struggling with each other and the fine line between sibling love and anger was tested, repeatedly breaking at the stressful situation of watching their robust father now incapacitated. Add to that Jake’s substance abuse problem and the stage was set for the hotel fight the two brothers had at the end of the episode. Johnathan, who arrived at the hotel door to hear the two fighting, tried to stay outside and let the two try to work it. Johnathan said that hearing them argue really tears him up and the gruff Time Bandit Captain tried to stay out of the fray but hang back in case it got physical between the stressed out brothers.

Ian Somerhalder is having a great time portraying Damon Salvatore, the malevolent vampire with the sexy swagger on CW’s hit show The Vampire Diaries. As the actor gears up to begin filming season 2, GQ UK has a great Q & A session with the star. Here are a couple of highlights:

What he wants for Damon in season 2: “I just don’t want to be sensitive Damon anymore. I want to get back to like, biting high school girls and stuff.”

Influences for creating his character: “What I wanted Damon to be was this sort of wacky old world combination of Cary Grant and Mick Jagger.”

His personal style rule: “I’ve started to shop now by feel. If it’s black and soft, give it to me.”

I have to admit – it’s a complete guilty pleasure watching Somerhalder as the arrogant bitchy Damon. I am all for the less touchy-feely Damon and all about the fun manipulative vamp with the best bite around.
