Jessica Simpson is always catching snarky comments about her weight, even when she looks great.   It’s got to hurt, at least a little.  So why would she go and invite commentary about her body by tweeting about her detox and diet regimens?  Jess posted:

“Shocked my system with a vegan diet, special Pu-erh tea from China, and cupping since Friday!”

Pu-erh tea is supposed to be good for detoxing (especially for hangovers, evidently) and weight loss.  Cupping is  a Chinese medicine practice that uses heated glass cups on your skin to “suck” toxins out.  Vegan diet, self explanatory.

She later explained what she was up to:

“Just so everyone is clear.. this has NOTHING to do with weight!. It is about understanding my body through hydration and alkalinity.”

Hold the phone.  The woman who claims “REAL WOMEN EAT MEAT” decides to go vegan for hydration and aklalinity?  I don’t buy it. I also think her body is fine.  She often picks clothes that accentuate all the wrong areas, or that just don’t work for her – you know, at all – but there’s nothing wrong with curves.   She just needs a new stylist and she’ll be just fine.

This past holiday weekend (July 2-5, 2010) belonged to The Twilight Saga: Eclipse which made $82.5 million just on the weekend bringing it’s grand total since Wednesday to $175.2 million! Trailing at #2 was The Last Airbender which made $53.1 million over the weekend with a grand total of $70 million since Wednesday. The only other movie opening in the top ten was Cyrus with $1 million.

The latest issue of Esquire features the one and only Katy Perry.  This is a great interview.  We get a nice look at how and why she’s with Russell Brand.  Katy never holds back and she definitely let loose with this one.

Referring to Russell as a former “professional prostitute” Katy told him ,”You’ve met your match m****** f******” as she threw a plastic water bottle at him when they first met.

Katy turned down Russell the first night out, she said no to his assumption that she’d sleep with him.  (Good for you girl!)  She made him wait and take her on a real date.

Katy has reformed Russell.  Rumor has it that he used to sleep with upwards of 80 women a month.  Yuck!

“He was a heroin addict and now he’s not. He was addicted to all kinds of things and now he’s not. And he basically used to be a professional prostitute and now he’s not.  So he’s an extremist, which can be both good and bad.  I always needed someone stronger than me and I am, like, a f****** strong elephant of a woman.  I say that hopefully in the humblest way I can. When we have an argument he knows I’m not just gonna throw my hands up and say, ‘okay, you win.’”

Is Russell Brand Cheating On Katy Perry?

I think that Katy Perry and Russell Brand are perfect together, as long as he remains faithful to her.  I think they bring out the best in each other.

My favorite girly from The Office, Jenna Fischer (Pam) tied the knot on Saturday (July 3rd) with writer, Lee Kirk.  The super cute couple has been engaged since last summer when Lee popped the question while they were on vacation in Europe.

Fischer’s co-star, John Krasinski will be getting married just a week after her wedding!  He and Emily Blunt will walk down the aisle on July 10.

Talk about precious moments.  Jim Carrey spent his 4th of July holding his grandson Jackson Santana on Malibu Beach and spencding time with family and friends.  I absolutely love these snaps.  Jim Carrey is such a funny guy, I have always been a huge fan of his flicks.  But seeing this tender, personal side of him makes him….HOT.

Wait, wait, wait.  I thought that Lindsay Lohan was obsessed with her latest female lover, Eilat Anschel?  If that were the case, then I don’t understand why Lilo just went on her second date in two days with Danny Cipriani.

This odd couple was first spotted together as they left Los Angeles nightclub The Tea Room on Thursday night.

Next Cipriani was seen entering Lindsay’s apartment at around 4am, only 24 hours after their first date.

An insider says,

“He’s really fallen for Lindsay. Maybe it’s a bit of a rebound thing from Kelly but Danny can’t get enough of his new girl.”

And to add to the pile up, Cipriani’s ex, Kelly Brook is apparently pretty upset by the whole thing and that makes me think that this relationship might be legitimate.  But, then I still don’t know where that leaves Eilat.

So two days ago, we discovered the Melissa Etheridge wanted to end things with Tammy Lynn Michaels for good thanks to TMZ breaking the story.  Well, that was how Tammy Lynn found out as well.  Um yeah, cold.

Katie Holmes is going to be the latest star to join the cast of Glee for a five episode stint, Hollywire reports.  Glee’s second season is going to be huge.  The first took off like wildfire but with all the guest appearances lining up, the second round is going to be even better.

Katie is pals with Glee actress, Dianna Agron and through that friendship has gotten to know Glee creator, Ryan Murphy.  I don’t even think it’s necessary to have friends in high places when you’re married to Tom Cruise…. that kind of puts you in the top tier already.
