We found out yesterday that Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus split.  Now we discover that Liam was likely the “problem” in the relationship.  He was spotted at the Shorebreak Hotel in Huntington Beach on August 7 with some guy friends. They hit the bar in the hotel where he met this mystery blonde, Katy (26.)

“She and a girlfriend approached him at the bar,” an insider tells Star. “Girls were fawning over him all night, and he was clearly loving the attention, but he really took a liking to her.” Liam didn’t hide his interest in Katy and invited her and her friends to join him and his buddies.

“They were all throwing back beers and having a great time,” says the insider. “Later, he suggested that they all go back to the Doubletree hotel, where they were staying, to keep the party going.”

They all partied pretty late and,

“Miley’s name was never brought up,” says the source. “He certainly didn’t mention her.” He also exchanged numbers with Katy before she left and “promised to call.” Noting that they “definitely had a strong connection.”

Everyone thought that Liam was a classy guy.  But even if he didn’t cheat on Miley before they ended the relationship, he shouldn’t be all over a new girl in public so soon. Jerk.
