Lady Gaga wasn’t always Lady Gaga.  She used to just be Stefani Germanotta, a first-year student at New York University.  (See a video of her performing during her NYU days here.)  So what was she like back in the day?  A college friend spilled to In Touch Weekly:

“She looked so different then.  She went for more of a tan, sex-bomb look with long curly dark hair.   She was super sexy and had a really attractive personality.   She knew how to get guys.”

As if chasing boys wasn’t enough fun…

“We…went to dorm parties just like everyone else.  We would hit up Starbucks, and once, for a Super Bowl party, she brought about two pounds of buffalo wings.”

Despite all that partying, Gaga was no slacker when it came to her schoolwork.

“She always did all of her homework and was a fantastic student. She cared about her work and would dedicate herself when she had to write a paper.”

Good for her for being conscientious!  Of course, Lady Gaga worked that hard at school for just one year before dropping out to begin her transformation into the pop superstar she is today.

This is one of the most precious things I’ve seen, like, well…ever.  PopWrap unearthed one of Jake Gyllenhaal‘s elementary school pictures.   Such an adorable little nerd, but he already knew how to strike a pose for the camera.  You know he broke tons of little hearts on the playground!  Too cute!!

Yep, Jessica Simpson is talking about her weight and body image issues again.  She is now claiming to have made peace with her curvy self.  She told Lucky magazine:

We all obsess over looking like the perfect Barbie type, and that’s not always what’s beautiful. It’s about making peace with yourself…I think a woman always stresses out about their weight. It’s just like a woman thing -unless you’re the women we don’t like that are the supermodels that are just so naturally fantastic.  But for me, I’m a curvy girl so I have to always be conscious of what I’m putting into my body, if I’m going to be working out.

Ho hum.  Can’t interviewers think of anything else to ask her about?  Jess and her body issues are becoming about as newsworthy as Megan Fox and her sexuality.    I fully expect magazines to be asking her about her weight 30 years from now.  Yawn.

Emma Thompson was honored with the 2,416th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame yesterday in Los Angeles.  Maggie Gyllenhaal and Hugh Laurie were by her side for the big day.  Emma looked gorgeous and how about that pig?!  I love it!

Friday night Sum 41 frontman, Deryck Whibley was attacked  in a bar in Japan by three unidentified men.  Their Facebook page said,

“It is unfortunate to say, but Deryck Whibley is still in the hospital. He was attacked late last night in Japan. We are waiting for results and we are hoping for the best. Thanks for your support.”

Then later on the update was,

“After an MRI scan, it appears Deryck has slipped a disc in his back once again. Despite doctor’s instructions, he has decided to play today’s show at Summersonic regardless.”

I don’t know if that is the smartest thing in the world.  But I am glad that Deryck’s injuries weren’t worse.  That could have turned out really bad.
