Lady Gaga Wears Her Food For Vogue Hommes Japan

Yes.  It’s a picture of Lady Gaga wearing meat on the cover of Vogue Hommes Japan (Autumn/Winter 2010-2011).  I don’t know.

This shot was “styled” by Nicola Formichetti, if you can call draping slices of raw meat over a person’s privates “styling.”

Also revealed in this issue are the shots of Gaga (in drag, styled by Formichetti) as her alter ego, Jo Calderone.  (Check out the alternate cover featuring Mr. Calderone below.)

I’ve gotta say, I like the drag pictures better.  There’s something a little too Karen Finley about those steaks for my taste.

I think it’s great! Although, being naked and covered in red meat is a concept that’s has been done countless times in fashion and art….it was even done on America’s Next Top Model a few years ago…I don’t get the uproar now??

you’re right, ANTM did do this concept before. And as much as I love Lady Gaga, I think it’s a little disrespectful to animals in general. I’m not a vegan or anything like that, but I just don’t like the concept. And in all honesty, I do get what she’s trying to say in this picture. Because if you think about it, wearing the fur of an animal is not that far off from wearing the meat of an animal. Skin, flesh…..it’s all the same. I hope it gets people to think about what it means to wear fur.
