At this point in time, I don’t know if anyone could be more pumped and anxious for the DVD/Blu-Ray  release of Eclipse.  December 4 is a way off still, but with the latest details and cover released, I think it will help hold me over.

On that big day, you can get the secial 2-disc combo that will include every possible extra feature you can imagine…. well, I can’t promise that Robert Pattinson is going to hop through the screen and touch you with his icy fingers and give you massive heart palpitations.  But, you will get to watch audio commentaries with Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Stephenie Meyer.  Nice!

Derek Jeter is in the final year of his $189 million contract with the New York Yankees, but he’s looking to make just a little more cash on top of that.  Jeter has put his New York condo on the market for the small sum of $20 million.

You might, like me, have said, “What the hell?” when you read that.  However, we ARE talking Manhattan real estate prices here.  The listing describes

… a south-facing four-bedroom apartment with five and a half bathrooms. And through the 16-foot floor-to-ceiling windows…one can see the Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building, Central Park, and all the way out to the Atlantic Ocean.

Well, geeez.  Where do you find such an abode?  On the 88th floor of Trump World Tower, of course.

The New York Times suggests that this sale might be an indicator of Jeter’s plans to leave New York after his contract ends, but I am wondering if he’s getting ready to consolidate living arrangements with his fiancee Minka Kelly.  The couple is rumored to be getting married in November.

Resident Evil:  Afterlife topped the box office this past weekend, and no wonder:  Milla Jovovich is back as zombie-whomping Alice in this fourth installment in the series.  She talked to Parade about what inspires her to kick so much butt.

On finding unexpected influences for her character: “On the first Resident Evil, Paul [W.S. Anderson, director and Milla's husband] was talking to me about actors to draw from, and he was mentioning male action stars like Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson and Clint Eastwood. I didn’t completely get it. I remember going to do some recording for the second movie and my voice freaked me out because it sounded so girly. So I ended up lowering it and re-recording the whole movie. It really changed everything because I seemed completely different. So that’s when I channeled Clint and Steve to find Alice.”

On getting seriously into the action: “I was a real kind of fantasy geek growing up and watching Kung-Fu theater with my dad every Sunday. I always had this dream of being one of those ninjas that hops from tree to tree. I love to challenge myself, and I don’t cut myself any slack. Paul would have been more than happy to let me use a stunt double a couple of times. But I insisted on doing the big scenes myself. This is my passion. That girl Alice is a part of me and that’s why I love going back to her.”

It’s finally official.  After weeks and weeks of diva rumors, controversy, and debate, Jennifer Lopez has inked her deal with American Idol.

J. Lo is officially the third judge completing the panel of Randy Jackson, Steven Tyler, and herself.  Thank God the debate is over.  What’s done is done, like it or not, Jenny from the block is here to stay.  Well, for a year at least.

Jennifer signed a one year contract for over $12 million and will begin filming in the auditions sometime next week.

The constantly delayed film prequel The Hobbit may actually start filming this January according to actor Ian McKellen.

Ian McKellen has just told The Bolton News that he will be returning as Gandalf and that, “the aim is to start filming in January.”

Two “Hobbit” films (which will be shot back to back) are still officially without a director, but it is has been heavily suggested that writer/producer Peter Jackson will helm (as he did with all three “Lord of the Rings” films). Regardless, if the financial issues surrounding MGM and their share of the rights have been resolved, expect an studio announcement very soon.

Hopefully it’s true and we’ll start to see coverage and announcements soon. This film is long overdue, with a hungry waiting audience.

The very first trailer for the highly anticipated film The Tourist starring Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp is debuting this Wednesday.

Moviegoers eager for their first look of The Tourist, the anticipated thriller starring Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie, will be able to catch the new theatrical trailer for the film, on the internet Wednesday, September 15th at about 9am PDT. Following the online break, the trailer will debut in theaters beginning September 17th attached to The Town.

This is a movie that’s guaranteed to have a big audience, regardless of the story-line. The combination of these two in a movie is creating a lot of buzz, especially the talk of their shower sex scene. Hopefully it’s actually a good movie.

The Big Bang Theory star, Kaley Cuoco fell off her horse this weekend and broke her leg.  For now she’s laid up in the hospital and unable to tape the show.  So…. the show must go on without her.

The rumors have been confirmed.  Penelope Cruz and her new hubby, Javier Bardem are expecting their first baby together.  Their reps finally confirmed the news,

“Penelope is 4½-months pregnant.”

I knew it!  I knew they would be having a baby sooner than later after tying the knot.  I am so happy for them.  This is going to be one beautiful baby!
