Northwestern captain Sig Hansen and Time Bandit captains Johnathan and Andy Hillstrand have been dealing with the massive lawsuit ($3 million) from the Discovery Channel.  It has proven to be too much to handle and they have all quit the show.

Deadliest Catch Captain Phil Harris Tribute On Deck

The guys told the Hollywood Reporter,

“We have been through a lot over the past year and unfortunately given the current situation with Discovery we are unable to continue participating in ‘Deadliest Catch.’ It has been a fantastic ride, and we wish the best to all of the amazing and supportive ‘Catch’ fans we have met over the years.”

What a huge let down.  Fans of The Deadliest Catch have really taken a blow.  Captain Phil Harris‘ tragic death was beyond difficult for everyone, including the fans.  Now thanks to a ridiculous lawsuit, a great show has lost amazing captains.  I see the end of Deadliest Catch in the near future.

Sad.

This poster is reminiscent of the classic film Ghost, how fitting to the actual story-line. I really hope this movie is good, Eastwood is still amazing.

Seriously.  Are you kidding me?  I love just how pathetic the public and the media are when it comes to the Palin family.  Monday night on Dancing With The Stars, Sarah Palin was in the audience to support her daughter, Bristol Palin while she performed.  What did she get in return?  A bunch of booing from the less than mature audience.  So pathetic.

Now the media is jumping on an opportunity to create a “scandal” out of nothing.  Bristol took her dance partner Mark Ballas to Alaska to meet the fam and while they were up there, they stopped by a local bar/restaurant Rumrunner’s Old Towne Bar and Grill.  Bristol ordered up one of her favorites, nachos.

It was perfectly legal for Bristol to be there.  Families dine in there.  But because Bristol’s last name is Palin, the media and the public have to turn nachos into an illegal scandal.

If there were some juicy pictures of Bristol doing shots and dancing on the bar, then I’d understand the outage.  But it was nachos people.

Here’s the trailer for the upcoming film The Fighter starring Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale.

This movie doesn’t strike me as something new and original, more like a movie that could have been made at any point in the last 20 years. Good actors, but nothing too exciting other than that. Seeing this trailer has convinced me that Christian Bale enjoys torturing himself by losing and gaining extreme amounts of weight.

There will be a new Superman movie coming together soon and rumors have been flying about Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight, Inception) or Darren Aronofsky (Requiem for a Dream, The Wrestler) as possible directors for the project. Now there’s a rumor that Natalie Portman could play Lois Lane.

With the rumor that Darren Aronofsky is one of the key names on the Supermandirector shortlist being explored by Warner Bros. and Christopher Nolan, this additional rumor was probably inevitable. So roll this around in your head for a minute: Natalie Portman as Lois Lane…

…This particular part of the Superman rumor puzzle comes from Moviehole, which reports that one member of the Black Swan production team says that Aronofsky has been talking about Superman for some time, and that Warner Bros. wanted Portman for Lois Lane when Bryan Singer’s film was being assembled, and thinks that with Aronofsky on board to direct she would say yes.

But is it true? We have no official word from Warner Bros., but the smart money says that, if you’re looking to cast a female lead in a film like this, Natalie Portman’s name naturally comes up. Furthermore, if Darren Aronofsky’s name is in the mix, especially as he’s about to release a new film in which Portman is said to be magnificent, the link gets stronger.

Superman movies are big and rumors are bound to, well… abound. Any of these names attached to this project would make me happy, I just hope they hurry up and get to it. I want to report facts, enough with the rumors already!

Josh Holloway of Lost fame and Jeremy Renner have joined the cast of the upcoming sequel Mission: Impossible IV.

In addition to the report of the film shooting soon in Dubai, we know now that Josh Holloway will be part of the cast, as a member of the Impossible Mission Force, which also counts Tom Cruise and Jeremy Renner as members.

These guys are both good, I’m looking forward to this long awaited sequel. I’m very curious what they are going to do to keep this franchise feeling fresh. I have a lot of faith in J.J. Abrams, he’s got his fingers on the pulse of the modern audience.

The new Bachelor for the upcoming January 5 premiere is Brad Womack.  Deja Vue?  Kinda.  Brad was Bachelor in 2007 and  ”He was a commitment-phobe,” according to Chris Harrison.  So why bring him back?  For some reason Chris and the Bachelor folks think he’s a great guy. This is all in spite of the fact that Brad broke both Deanna Pappas and Jenni Croft’s hearts at the end of his season.

Brad went to a lot of therapy and is ready for this commitment driven show.

“I’m a different guy, I want to come back and prove I believe in this process. I want to prove to everyone I’m a different man. I can and want to do this.”

I’m not sure if I am sold on this idea or not.  But I guess it doesn’t really matter.  Brad Womack is the next Bachelor and all the girls willing to put their hearts out there are doing it with fair warning.
