* KEYS AND BEATZ WELCOME BABY BOY
Hip-hop supercouple ALICIA KEYS and SWIZZ BEATZ have become parents to a baby boy.
Keys, who was reportedly due in November (10), went into labour on Thursday (14Oct10) and gave birth to little Egypt Dauode Dean at New York’s St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital.
Beatz, real name Kasseem Dean, tweeted his happiness shortly after the birth with a post on his Twitter.com blog. The thrilled father wrote, “I’m so thankful for everything I been blessed with in my life wowwwwww (sic).”
And close pal Mary J. Blige was among the first stars to send her best wishes.
Taking to her Twitter.com page on Friday (15Oct10), she writes, “I’m So excited 2 Congratulate my brother @therealswizzz and @Aliciakeys on there (sic) New, baby, boy!!!!!!!”
The child is Keys’ first, while Beatz is already a father to three children from previous relationships.
The baby’s name will be no big surprise to Keys fans – she fell in love with all things Egypt during a hiatus there in 2007. She claimed the country inspired her to return and record hit album The Element of Freedom.
The No One hitmaker announced the news of her pregnancy and engagement in May (10) and she wed producer Beatz in Corsica, France in July (10). (MT/WNWC/KL)
