Jay-Z Promotes His New Book, ‘Decoded’

Jay-Z was at Barnes & Noble in New York City on Wednesday promoting his new memoir, Decoded.   Why a guy as obsessively private as Jay would write a memoir, I don’t know.  (Oh wait, I DO know – it’s a word that starts with an “m” and ends with “oney”.)

It sounds like an unusual book, in which the author (real name: Shawn Carter) describes how he developed Jay-Z, the persona, and also explains the lyrics to many of his songs.     But I’ll let you decide what you think for yourself – you can read an excerpt from Decoded here.

Glee News: Sue Sylvester’s Getting Married

Jane Lynch just got married this summer, but she’s about to walk down the aisle again – this time as her Glee character Sue Sylvester.    So what does Sue Sylvester wear to get married in anyway?  A “tracksuit wedding dress,” of course.  Jane says:

“The dress is so awesome. It’s by a great designer, Ali Rahimi. I love it!”

The wedding, Jane says will be

“rather unconventional. It’s just so freaking weird and you’re going to love it!”

But whom is Sue marrying?  Inquiring minds want to know.

Britney Spears Parents Have Reconciled

After being divorced for eight years, for some reason Britney Spears‘ parents, Lynne and Jamie Spears, have decided to get back together.   A source for People shared:

“They are back together and are doing well and happy…[They're] not remarried but back together.”

I think Lynne and Jamie are two of the most self-serving people I’ve ever heard of, plus they both seem just a wee bit nuts.  Not the best combination for a relationship, but at least if they’re together, the crazy is concentrated in one place.  Good luck to them, I guess.

Kelly Osbourne Shows Off Her Mighty Fine Shape

Kelly Osbourne looks absolutely fantastic on the cover of Shape magazine’s December 2010 issue. The Dancing With The Stars whirlwind radiates a happiness and confidence that she never has before. Osbourne had some butterflies before posing for the cover saying:

“I’ve never worn a bikini in my whole life,” she says, holding a red one up to her newly slim body. “Am I really about to bare all to the entire world? I’m so nervous!”

As it turns out, she had nothing to worry about. Osbourne’s new found bliss shows and she looks amazing.

Kelly does say she carried a lot of guilt and anger over being criticized so harshly for her weight all those years:

As the daughter of Sharon and Ozzy, Kelly was frequently taunted and criticized in the tabloids, not so much for her wild-child ways—or even her drug addiction—but for her weight. “I was called fat and ugly in the press almost my entire life,” says the 26-year-old. “I understand that being judged by others comes with the territory, but it broke my heart and ruined my self-esteem. It sets you up to hate yourself in a huge way. I was so angry about the things people said about me. I truly believe it’s the main reason I turned to Vicodin and ended up in rehab three times. I just hated myself.”

Kelly has been able to get control of her emotions and channel them into something that makes her feel positive about her self:

“Ultimately, I’m really glad I lost the weight the way I did,” says Kelly. “I never thought in a million years I’d be that healthy girl who wakes up every morning to exercise. After being called ‘cherubic and chubby,’ I’m rocking a bikini! I feel silly, but I think I’m going to cry. Being on the cover of SHAPE is the biggest victory I could ever hope for.”

I love that Kelly feels victorious over something that has plagued her through her childhood and into her adult life. That is the biggest win she could ever ask for.

‘The Vampire Diaries’ Episode 2.10 “The Sacrifice” Photos

The Vampire Diaries is off for a couple of weeks but The CW was kind enough to send photos from the upcoming episode “The Sacrifice” our way. TVD will see Tyler transform to a werewolf in either this epi or the next – then it’s a holiday break for the show until January 2011. This episode airs December 2nd at 8pm.

JEREMY MAKES A DANGEROUS MISTAKE — Elena (Nina Dobrev) decides to take matters into her own hands and offers a tempting incentive to Rose (guest star Lauren Cohan) for her help.  When things take an unexpected turn, however, Rose calls on Damon (Ian Somerhalder) to deal with the plan Elena has set in motion.  Jeremy’s (Steven R. McQueen) reckless attempt to help Bonnie (Katerina Graham) retrieve the moonstone lands him in a life-threatening position and forces Stefan (Paul Wesley) to put himself in danger.  Bonnie and Luka (guest star Bryton James) form a closer connection.  Tyler (Michael Trevino) shows Caroline (Candice Accola) the Lockwood cellar, where she makes a discovery that leaves them both terrified.  Sara Canning, Zach Roerig and Matt Davis also star.

Carrie Underwood Stylish & Sleek On InStyle

Talented Carrie Underwood is InStyle magazine’s December 2010 cover girl. The American Idol season four winner looks fantastic with sleek hair and a beautiful navy strapless gown. She says her fashion choices may be more conservative than others, but she is just fine with that:

“I love things that make me feel comfortable but aren’t too tight or showing too much cleavage,” she tells us. “That might be some people, but definitely not me. I can be sexy and still be classy. I don’t do outrageous outfits, and I never will.”

Underwood is experiencing a fantastic year – she married hockey player Mike Fisher, filmed her first acting role in the movie Soul Surfer with AnnaSophia Robb, and has her song “There’s A Place For Us” on the upcoming holiday release The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.

Underwood’s issue is on sale Friday, November 19th.

Elisabetta Canalis Gets More ‘Leverage’

She is best known as George Clooney’s girlfriend (and let’s face it – who doesn’t want that title?) but model Elisabetta Canalis is slowly breaking into acting and will return to the TNT show Leverage. The show will see Canalis reprise her role as “The Italian” and will appear in a three episode arc. Starting December 12th with her first and finishing on December 19th with part 1 at 9pm and part 2 at 10pm, the heist/thriller/Robin Hood series will close out it’s second season.

What do you think? I’ve seen Leverage a few times and have liked it – but haven’t caught the Canalis episode. Is she good? Glad to have The Italian return? Sound off below.

Kathy Griffin: ‘D-List’ Adventures Over?

Bravo may have another scheduling hole to fill as Kathy Griffin says My Life on the D-List future is uncertain. The comedienne has spent several years on the cable network making fun of herself, her attempts at A-List stardom and her run-ins with other celebrities but her time with the show in it’s current format needs revamping:

“I don’t think it will come back, especially not as the same show it was,” Griffin said. “I would love to do a hybrid show, like a half-scripted kind of thing or something based on what I built on ‘My Life on the D-List’ and what I experience, but not a full-on reality show.”

I hope Kathy does find a way to stay on TV. She is brilliantly funny and isn’t afraid of taking anyone or any topic on. That is extremely rare.

Eva Longoria And Tony Parker Will Divorce: Text Messages Found From Other Woman

Eva Longoria has officially filed for divorce from her husband, basketball superstar Tony Parker amid allegations of infidelity. The Desperate Housewives star’s publicist denied the rumors on Tuesday, November 16th, however Longoria submitted the legal documents one day later in Los Angeles County and made it official.

While the standard “irreconcilable differences” is cited on the paperwork, reports are swirling that Parker is just another sports player who cheats. Longoria has not commented publicly about Tony’s cheating but she did release a very brief statement via her twitter:

“It is with great sadness that after 7 years together, Tony and I have decided to divorce. We love each other deeply and pray for each other’s happiness.

The pair have been married for 3 years and in the beginning of the marriage, Parker was accused of cheating. He sued the site that published the alleged text messages information from French model Alexandra Paressant and they two went on with their lives and came across as a very happy couple.

Eva’s pal, Mario Lopez is confirming that she did find text messages on his phone from another woman.

“She is devastated, she wants us all to know that,” Lopez said. “But she’s strong.”

Unfortunately there may be a entirely unsavory part of the story still to be told.

Amanda Seyfried In ‘Red Riding Hood’ Movie Trailer & Poster

Director Catherine Hardwicke is giving us a taste of the visual feast she is offering up in Red Riding Hood. The Brothers Grimm childrens fairy tale adapted and tweaked, the storyline is much more Gothic in scope and has werewolves to contend with, not just plain ol’ wolves lying grandma’s bed clothes. Amanda Seyfried, Gary Oldman, Shiloh Fernandez, Max Irons, Lukas Haas and Virigina Madsen star. The official synopsis:

In “Red Riding Hood,” Seyfried plays Valerie, a beautiful young woman torn between two men. She is in love with a brooding outsider, Peter (Shiloh Fernandez), but her parents have arranged for her to marry the wealthy Henry (Max Irons). Unwilling to lose each other, Valerie and Peter are planning to run away together when they learn that Valerie’s older sister has been killed by the werewolf that prowls the dark forest surrounding their village. For years, the people have maintained an uneasy truce with the beast, offering the creature a monthly animal sacrifice. But under a blood red moon, the wolf has upped the stakes by taking a human life. Hungry for revenge, the people call on famed werewolf hunter, Father Solomon (Gary Oldman), to help them kill the wolf. But Solomon’s arrival brings unintended consequences as he warns that the wolf, who takes human form by day, could be any one of them. As the death toll rises with each moon, Valerie begins to suspect that the werewolf could be someone she loves. As panic grips the town, Valerie discovers that she has a unique connection to the beast–one that inexorably draws them together, making her both suspect…and bait.
