Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester is the new face of Vera Wang‘s new fragrance, due out next summer.  Leighton is in New York for the weekend shooting the ad campaign, which is being photographed by Carter Smith.

Vera loves her new spokesperson!  She said she hopes that Leighton’s

“beauty, talent and spirit will inspire all the young women that I hope will enjoy this passionate, new young fragrance.”

The contract is for two years and is reported to be worth a cool $3 million.  Congrats Leighton!

Who needs Jake Pavelka or any Bachelor for that matter?!  Vienna Girardi got a night with The Chippendales when she hosted ’The Ultimate Girls Night Out‘ at The Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino down in Las Vegas.

I’d say that Vienna is doing more than alright.  Her life couldn’t be better.  She’s probably thanking the Dear Lord for not letting things work out for her and Jake.  I know I would be.

LeAnn Rimes has snapped.  She’s had enough of media crap and she’s letting the world know…. through Twitter! E! broke the whole engagement story and LeAnn and Eddie Cibrian are done with the rumors, good or bad.

Here is LeAnn’s lengthy Tweet,

“Ok, I’ve about had it with the lack of “reporting” with E News. The fact that our “engagement” has spread so furiously over the past 24 hours off of an E News article that is 150% untrue just shows you the lack of credible “sources” they seem to find and build a story around. When CNN is calling my publicist off of a lie E News has reported, the media world seriously has a problem with their lack of responsibility to the public to actually report the truth. Even though this is positive “news” its not true. Imagine all the negative “true stories” they’ve reported over the last year that aren’t true either. Gina Serpe and especially, Whitney English reporting for E News should be investigated for their lack of “investigative reporting.”Eddie and I are beyond happy and in love and look forward to one day sharing such private news with you all and hopefully will be able to enjoy it privately and share it with our family and friend’s before the world knows (contrary to reports on our intentions). So, nothing has been “exclusively” broken E News except maybe some of your credibility, sorry…I’M PREGNANT TOO!!! LOL Thanks to all of our wonderful fans for the premature congats, but for now, let’s all be happy we’re happy and still and will remain together! Eddie and I felt we couldn’t let this rumor go on any longer.”

I can understand where she’s coming from.  But, this is the life of being a celebrity.  It’s not like the story was harmful.  But, I guess she’s had enough.

What seemed like a mystery surrounding the death of Bachelorette contestant, Julien Hug, turned out to be pure tragedy.  After his body was recovered in a remote area in Riverside County, CA, the investigation began.

Storm Chasers – Matt Hughes Death Was A Suicide

Yesterday the conclusion of suicide was reached.  Julien Hug’s family, co-workers, and girlfriend received letters from him, that were essentially suicide notes.  Julien Hug died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

His parents told People in a statement,

“In his letter to us he stated that he was suffering from acute depression and he felt it was his only way out.  While publicly outgoing he was an extremely private person who internalized everything.”

It has been a tragic loss of life.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to Julien Hug’s loved ones during their time of healing.

Lil Wayne had some great welcome home parties to enjoy after getting out of prison.  They were fully stocked with booze, tons of champagne, the works.  Bummer for him that wasn’t able to touch any of it.

Before the celebrations, Lil Wayne appeared for the start of his probation that will last for 3 years.  The docs say that he “may not consume or drink any substance containing alcohol” for the full 3 years.

Lil Wayne also can’t knowingly associate with any person engaged in criminal activity or any person with a criminal record without prior written approval from the probation department, or possess illegal drugs, toxic vapors or controlled substances.  He’ll be submitting pee tests as well.

If he breaks any of these rules, it’s off to prison.

So you think he will be a goo boy?

Tye Strickland and Melissa Rycroft were at the OK! Magazine 5th anniversary celebration over at Louis at Gansevoort South – Inside on Miami Beach.  These two are so dang cute, they make you gag a little. And I mean that in a very loving way.  They are just so happy.  Anyone who struggles to find happiness gets pissed when they even glance at Tye and Melissa.

The soon-to-be new parents have already decided on the name for their upcoming bundle of joy.  But, they are keeping under wraps until the big day.  I think that’s very classy and really sweet.  I wonder if they’ve gone for something unusual or will go traditional?  What do you think?

And I say, good for her!  Lindsay Lohan is doing the right thing, staying in rehab, trying to better herself  But, come on.  Everyone needs to get out, just for an hour or two to change things up a bit.

Lilo left rehab to shop at the Forever 21 store in Palm Desert, not far from Betty Ford.

Manger, Tifanny Bennett told Radar,

“Lindsay bought a leopard sweater, a lot of pajama bottoms, and a ton of socks.  Her choices were for leisure wear. Lindsay spent about $200 total and she paid for the items herself.  We were surprised that Lindsay was so low key.  The only thing she asked us to do was to hold some of the items at the front until she was finished picking things out.”

Why would you be surprised that she’d be low key?  She’s not in there on a bender!  Lindsay just wanted some comfies.  Nothing wrong with that.

Here are the first images of the new live-action Captain America from next summer’s Captain America:The First Avenger starring Chris Evans as the  all-American hero.

He looks almost cartoonish. Looks like he might be on steroids , a lot of people use them. Hopefully not, that would be tough to keep up with for his supposed 9 picture deal as Captain America. I really hope the movie doesn’t turn out to be corny.
