Susan Boyle Aims High, Wants To Be As Big As The Beatles

No one can ever accuse Susan Boyle of not setting her sights high enough.  The singer recently told The Sun UK that despite her monster success, she’s not done yet.  In fact, she says that what would make her really happy is to be as big as the Fab Four themselves.  Susan said:

“The Beatles are still around now, their records live on. I hope to be in the same calibre one day. I know I’ve got a lot to do yet though. I’d like to meet Paul [McCartney]. If he ever wanted to perform together, I’d have no problem with it – here I am, baby!”

Huh.  So I can’t help but think of John Lennon‘s infamous “more popular than Jesus” comment.  Which was totally taken out of context, but that’s not part of this story.   But look – what I really want to know is, why hasn’t anyone introduced SuBo to Paul yet?  Someone give the girl a break and help her figure out how to take advantage of some of the better perks that come with fame!

Sexy Brazilian Model Raica Oliveira Is The New Face Of Ultimo

Kelly Brook was the face of Ultimo for about a minute before she left the lingerie maker high and dry. But it didn’t take them long to find a replacement.  The lovely Raica Oliveira is Ultimo’s new face, and I am sure many readers won’t be too sad about that.

KELLY BROOK STRIPS DOWN FOR PLAYBOY

Raica is not new to the modeling world; her past employers include Dolce & Gabbana, Yves St. Laurent and Dior.  She’s absolutely gorgeous  and has an amazing body!   But don’t take my word for it – check out the pics and see for yourself!

‘The King’s Speech’ Poster With Colin Firth

Here’s the poster for the upcoming film The King’s Speech, starring Colin Firth and Helena Bonham Carter.

Apparently Colin Firth is amazing in the film and there is already an Oscar buzz for him. He’s a great actor and always a pleasure to watch. Too bad this poster really doesn’t do much to make the movie seem great.

Billy Bob Thornton Reveals ‘Bad Santa 2′?

Billy Bob Thornton hinted at a sequel to Bad Santa in a recent interview and expressed his interest in doing it! Here’s what he said:

Yeah, I get Bad Santa a lot. Bad Santa’s become like a classic Christmas movie. People watch It’s a Wonderful Life and Miracle on 34 St. and Bad Santa now is sort of the box set. And there’s been talk of making a sequel to it, which I actually would like to do. I’ve never done a sequel to one of my movies, but that one makes sense to me to do it.

Sounds like he’s ready to do it, and we’re all ready to watch it. Bad Santa really has become a modern Christmas classic, I’d love to see a sequel.

First ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’ Trailer Coming With ‘Narnia’

Michael Bay is promising the first teaser trailer for Transformers: Dark of the Moon with the release of The Chronicles of Narina: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader on December 10th. He said in a recent interview:

I will give full details of my process and why I liked 3D in the next week right before the Transformers announcement piece comes out on Tron and Narnia.

Michael Bay has a record of broken promises thought, but hopefully this is true.  And hopefully this next film will be better than the second Transformers.

‘Uncharted’ to Star Mark Wahlberg as Nathan Drake

Mark Wahlberg has accepted the role of Nathan Drake in the upcoming Video Game adaptation Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune.

He is reportedly stepping into the role of Nathan Drake, the hard-hitting adventurer in the popular PlayStation 3 games, “Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune” (2007) and “Uncharted 2: Among Thieves” (2009). Something of a modern-day version of Indiana Jones, Drake faces off against sadistic warlords and supernatural monsters as he hunts treasures around the globe.

The film will be helmed by an unlikely choice: David O. Russell, the prickly filmmaker who directed Wahlberg along with Christian Bale in upcoming drama, “The Fighter,” and is best known for going off on a rant at Lily Tomlin on the set of “I Heart Huckabees.”

“I’m obviously in whatever David wants to do but the idea of it is so off the charts,” the artist formerly known as “Marky Mark” told the entertainment website.

There are plenty of people who are upset about this casting choice, arguing that Nathan Fillion (Who looks exactly like the video game character) should be playing this character. While Fillion would definitely fit the role I’m actually really glad about the casting. My reasoning is pretty clear, I’ve seen the upcoming film The Fighter and it’s the best movie I’ve seen all year (so far). It’s sure to get Oscar nods and this is the same pairing of director David O. Russell and Mark Wahlberg. Could Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune be the first video game adaptation that actually turns out to be a classic? My hopes for that possibility are higher then I ever though possible.

‘Hop’ Poster and Trailer Fail to Impress Even the Youngsters

Here’s the poster and teaser trailer for the upcoming animated kids movie Hop.

I showed this to my young nephews, and they were completely unimpressed. It may be early to tell what this movie is like, but the marketing isn’t making it look good so far.

‘Superman’ Casting Begins

The new Christopher Nolan produced, Zack Snyder directed Superman reboot has started casting. Apparently there is a good chance the new Superman will be an as yet unknown actor.

Warner Bros, producer Chris Nolan, and director Zack Snyder have begun to cast a “wide net” to find the next Man of Steel…

…And he’ll be in the age range of 28-to-32. The studio expects to look at hundreds of young actors before making a decision…

…There will be inevitable buzz on actors like Armie Hammer, the strapping 6’5″ actor who played Cameron. And Tyler Winklevoss in The Social Network and who was eyed by the studio to play Batman in a Justice League movie that Mad Max helmer George Miller was poised to direct until the film got scrapped. But Hammer is only 24. The studio could go the TV route with True Blood’s Joe Manganiello, who claimed during a recent movie junket that he’s being considered and is certainly a strapping 34-year old. Or an actor like Ian Somerhalder of The Vampire Diaries, who is turning 32 and listed at 5’9+”.

Picking an unknown will allow them to pay him a bare minimum paycheck, which the studio will be happy about. His biggest payment will be getting to play Superman, but look what happened to the last guy who played the man of steel, he’s not exactly A-List.

First Official ‘Twilight: Breaking Dawn’ Image

Here’s the first officially released image from the upcoming series conclusion,  The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.

Yes, feathers-- because these movies are if nothing else the exact representation of a teenage girl’s fantasy. Breaking Dawn director Bill Condon has tweeted the first official image from the production, and it’s nothing but Kristen Stewart’s hand clutching a few feathers while on top of sheets. Breaking Dawn fans, of course, see this as a direct reference to an exchange Bella and Edward have after their wedding night, when the two finally stop talking about how much they want to do it and actually, y’know, do it:

Bella: “Why am I covered in feathers?”
Edward: “I bit a pillow. Or two.”

All I can say is I’m glad this teen craze is nearing it’s end, it may not be soon but at least there is an end in sight. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 will be released on November 18th 2011. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 will be out on November 16th, 2012.

Mark Wahlberg Wants To Smack Somebody

I love Mark Wahlberg and I think he’s such a good daddy.  He’s always out with his kids and that is so super hot.  When I saw these photos of him with the kids out at The Grove to catch a movie, I laughed.  He look like he’s about to smack that guy waving at the kids.

Mark is so freaking tough in his movies, you know he’d take that guy down in a heartbeat if he could get away with it.  The kids look all annoyed too.

I’ve heard some buzz that Mark is going to be nominated for best actor for his role in The Fighter, as well as the movie will get a best picture nod.  I can’t wait to see it!  It’s getting really good reviews from the critics!
