Florida School Board Held Hostage By Gunman: Warning Video
A Florida man calmly walks into a school board meeting taking the members hostage and after a shoot out with a security guard, he takes his own life.
Clay Davis, 56, walks up to the podium as if to address the board but instead has a spray paint can and draws a large circle with a ‘V’ on the wall, the symbol from the movie V For Vendetta. As the stunned people watch, he pulls a gun and orders the crowd to leave “except these clowns right here” motioning to the board members behind the table.
Davis begins arguing with the board, saying they “fired his wife.” The panel is confused who his wife is and try to engage him in discussion. Davis opens fire on member Bill Husfelt, but fortunately missed.
Ginger Littleton, another board member came up behind Davis and struck him with her purse and fell to the ground. Davis turns on Littleton and aims but does not shoot.
The stand off ends as a security guards enters and shoots Davis hitting him at least once, before Davis turns the gun on himself.
“It could have been a monumental tragedy,” said school superintendent Bill Husfelt.
Davis has a history of violence and in January of 2000 he was incarcerated for aggravated stalking, shooting or throwing a missile into a building or vehicle and obstructing justice.
