Nicole Richie and Joel Madden tied the knot Saturday, December 11th, at the Los Angeles estate of her father, singer Lionel Richie. There were two tents erected in the backyard and a trained elephant was brought in for the evening affair. The menu included a choice of filet mignon or seared ahi tuna.

Richie and Madden invited 130 of their closest friends and family to celebrate with the duo who have been together for four years. Some of the guests included were Good Charlotte bandmate (and brother) Benji Madden, Sam Ronson, Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale. The bride wore Marchesa.

Kim Kardashian popped into the grand opening of the new restaurant and lounge Beauty & Essex in New York City on Friday. The Keeping up with the Kardashians star enjoyed her brief time at the Chris Santos celebrity chef eatery before heading to Madison Square Garden for Z100′s Jingle Ball 2010. Kim, of course, looked fantastic.

Illusionist Criss Angel got his friends together to celebrate his birthday and the 1,000th  Criss Angel BeLieve Show, at the LAX Nightclub at The Luxor Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday (December 11th) night.

The Mindfreak star has a very generous side and he has celebrated his birthday not by asking for gifts but by donating his time and money.

This week to mark his birthday, Criss donated $25,000 to the group on top of the tens of thousands he’s already donated. Criss contributed $10,000 to the children’s annual Christmas party yesterday at The Rio. Criss donated 350 of his magic kits, signed autographs and took photos with all the kids. He also granted a wish for 13-year-old Cashel, who wanted a tour of his private estate Serenity here in Las Vegas.

He also donated over $5000 to a local TV station raising money for cancer research and another $15,000 for a different toy drive in Nevada. Angel said:

“I have been so blessed in my life,” Criss told me. “I never forget my own tough times, and now that I have the Mindfreak TV series and The Strip show, it’s my joy to help others, especially at this time of the year. We’re also reaching our 1,000th show and my birthday at the same time, so it’s great to include everybody in the celebration week and show my thanks this way.”

Impressive! It’s nice to know that he’s just doing this – not pimping it out for publicity.

The holiday family film, Yogi Bear debuted Saturday night at the Mann Village Theater in Los Angeles, California and the stars hit the brown carpet (that’s sounds terrible!) for the premiere. Anna Faris, Dan Ackroyd, Tom Cavanaugh and Justin Timberlake posed happily for photos and with Yogi and Boo Boo.

Timberlake, who voices Boo Boo in the film, said it was challenging getting the tone of Boo Boo’s voice correct:

“It was one of those things where his voice actually — if you really wanna know — his voice is in a certain register, so it took me about 20 to 30 minutes to get my voice warmed up into that register,” Timberlake said.

Yogi Bear opens in theaters Friday December 17th.

Don’t they look all warm and cozy?

Official portraits of members of The Royal Family are usually fairly stuffy and formal affairs. Prince William and his bride to be, Kate Middleton, are giving the world a younger, fresher version of the traditional photography with help from famed fashion and celebrity photographer Mario Testino. The two are wrapped in a casual embrace and far more relaxed than is usually featured in the official photos.

Testino has taken photos of Prince William and his younger brother Prince Harry before, as well as their mother, the late Princess  Diana. The photographer said he was thrilled to have been hand picked by William to mark the occassion:

“I am very happy to have been asked to cover this historic moment that the whole world was waiting for,” Testino said in a statement. “They are in their prime and brimming with happiness. I have never felt so much joy as when I see them together.”

Katy Perry and a host of others performed Friday at Z100  Jingle Ball 2010 at Madison Square Garden in NYC. Kim Kardashian was the opening announcer who introduced Taio Cruz and got the show started. Jersey Shore’s DJ Pauly D brought Enrique Iglesias out to perform and Kardashian came back to give the crowd Bieber Fever. Justin Bieber, Jesse McCartney, Hayley Williams of Paramore, Michael Buble, Emily Osment, Selena Gomez and Bruno Mars all performed for the annual holiday gig.

Natalie Portman is beautiful and elegant by just about everyone’s standard. John Galliano and the creative team at Dior are putting that beauty and image to good use – Portman will be the new face of Miss Dior Cherie parfum.

The Black Swan actress has already done the print ad campaign with photographer Tim Walker and commercials with Sophia Coppola. Natalie’s ads will start appearing in March 2011.

Oprah Winfrey is a very generous woman.

We’ve watched for years as she’s given prizes to her audience and holiday trips to staff members that are unheard of by anyone else. Winfrey touts charities and causes and started her own group, the Oprah Winfrey Foundation to fund education and enrichment programs world wide. But just how much does the generous talk show host give? $40 million dollars.

The Giving Back Fund gathered the data and uses media reports, publicist confirmation, tax records and other public means to put together an annual list. For 2009, Oprah outpaced every other celeb (second place went to author Nora Ephron at 4.45 million.)

Karina Smirnoff had a fun night out with a bunch of hunky guys in Las Vegas on Friday night. The Dancing with the Stars pro hosted the Ultimate Girls Night Out at Chippendales in Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino of Nevada.

Smirnoff, who recently go engaged to baseball player Brad Penny, was surrounded by men all night long. Somehow, I don’t think that’s anything new for the gorgeous babe.

Holly Madison is putting her posing talents to good use. The Holly’s World star made a stop at McGhie’s Ski & Bike Shop in Las Vegas, Nevada for another stop on the Holly Jolly Christmas Toy Drive. Madison is appearing around Las Vegas in her second year as spokesmodel for the Toys for Tots drive.
