Sir Paul McCartney is the musical guest on Saturday Night Live this weekend and while Stateside, he stopped by Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on December 9th for some terrific musical performances.

The two chatted about how place holder lyrics were used for the classic song “Yesterday” while working on the song back in the day. “Scrambled Eggs” was the phrase chosen and Fallon sweet-talked Sir Paul into a duet with the temporary lyrics (and a few modern additions.) Check it out below.

The Vampire Diaries ended it’s fall/winter season with a bite – one great big festering werewolf bite that is. Worse than that? No new episodes until January 2011! Here is the preview video for season 2 episode 12 “The Descent.”

How great was Michael Trevino (Tyler Lockwood) and his transformation to a werewolf last night? Damon (Ian Somerhalder) couldn’t let sleeping werewolf dogs lie – he had to go and irritate the new wolf in town, Jules (Michaela McManus.) It got you nothing but trouble (see video above.)

The Descent marks TVD’s return after the winter break on January 29th. It’s a long wait but it looks like it will be worth it.

Eva Mendes gives that famous, smoldering half-lidded stare from of Romania’s Glamour magazine. The actress is the January 2011 cover model for the fashion mag’s international edition.

She looks very old-Hollywood – Sophia Loren or Gina Lollobrigida in this. She just needs a leopard print bathing suit and cat eye sunglasses to complete the look.

I love this cover of her, for some reason. It nothing particularly special, it just gets my attention.

Here’s the very first poster for the upcoming comic book film Thor.

Pretty straightforward, I’m sure newer versions of the poster will be more colorful and interesting. I used to be really worried about this movie being terrible, but the trailer put a whole new light on it for me. I’m hoping it’s as good as it looks.

The symbol for rebellion, Jim Morrison has received a pardon for his indecent exposure conviction forty years ago.

The often inebriated and volatile lead singer of The Doors was brought to trial  and convicted of exposing himself to a 1969 Miami crowd. Fellow band members have said it never happened and eyewitness testimony varied wildly but the jury was convinced and pronounced him guilty.

Outgoing Florida governor Charlie Crist brought the matter to the attention of the state’s clemency board and they voted unanimously to posthumously grant his legal forgiveness.

The rock legend died in Paris in 1971 of a heart attack at the age of 27, while on the run and appealing his conviction.
