Carrie Underwood took home the American Country Awards Artist of the Year, Female for 2010 on Monday December 6th in Las Vegas, Nevada. The inaugural show on FOX gifted the talented Underwood with 6 trophies for the evening as the country darling dazzled in a bright sparkly red gown.

Other winners for the night included Brad Paisley as Artist of the Year, Male; Blake Shelton with Trace Adkins and Lady Antebellum.

Kylie Minogue is 42 years old and fabulous!  And while that’s a great age for many things (or at least I’m trying to convince myself of that, because I’ll be there pretty soon), it’s perhaps not the ideal time to be getting pregnant and having a baby.

But Kylie’s not going to let age stop her from becoming a mother if she so chooses.  She recently revealed that she has explored a number of options for having a baby, including finding someone to donate their eggs to her.   She says:

‘I’ve looked into various options.  I don’t know if I’m going to go down any of those roads yet, but I do need to look at what might be potential paths that lead to a family. They can do incredible things now, especially in America.’

Fertility doctors certainly can do incredible things.  I have several friends who have had different procedures that have resulted in much-loved and long-awaited babies.  So I wish Kylie luck with her journey to motherhood.  Maybe when she finishes her Aphrodite tour she’ll get started on that family.

Elizabeth Edwards is home surrounded by those she loves as she has taken doctors advice and stopped treatment in her fight against cancer. The disease has metastasized and spread to her liver and is untreatable.

“Elizabeth has been advised by her doctors that further treatment of her cancer would be unproductive. She is resting at home with family and friends,” the Edwards family says.

The universal health care advocate is gravely ill and while she has fought for so many things in life, she is bringing her loved ones to her home in Chapel Hill, North Carolina to be with her and support her. Edwards said on her Facebook page:

“I have been sustained throughout my life by three saving graces – my family, my friends, and a faith in the power of resilience and hope,” she writes. “These graces have carried me through difficult times and they have brought more joy to the good times than I ever could have imagined. The days of our lives, for all of us, are numbered. We know that.”

Edwards estranged husband, former Presidential candidate John Edwards, their children, her brother and sister have arrived to be with Elizabeth who is thankfully, “not in pain and in good spirits despite the seriousness of her condition.”

Looking like the billion dollar couple they are, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt took the red carpet in stride on Monday November 6th for the premiere of her latest movie, The Tourist. The Ziegfeld Theatre in New York City was the scene of madness as thousands of fans lined up to see the couple as well as Jolie’s costar Johnny Depp.

Jolie told MTV that Depp was, as suspected, marvelous to work with:

“It was wonderful,” Jolie, dressed in a creamy Atelier Versace gown, gushed to reporters about working with Depp on the flick. “He’s as wonderful as you expect him to be. He feels like he’s of a different decade. He’s extraordinarily creative and extraordinarily kind. There’s no one else like him.”

Angelina says she took this role, partly because of Johnny and to challenge herself playing a more sophisticated woman.

“I liked that she was a real lady, a real European lady, and I’ve never played that before. I thought it was a challenge for me to be a girl, a real girly girl,”

The Tourist opens Friday December 10th.

The charismatic Johnny Depp hit the Ziegfeld Theatre’s red carpet in New York City on Monday night, December 6th to debut his film The Tourist. Depp, who wrapped up with a scarf to stay warm in the very chilly weather the Northeast is experiencing, met up with his costar Angelina Jolie and her partner Brad Pitt at the premiere.

Depp was asked about the Jonah Hill penned 21 Jump Street movie (Johnny rose to fame on the 80s undercover-cop-in-high-school show) that is getting set to start production and what he thought of a possible cameo:

“I’ve said I’m into it, but no one’s actually approached me,” said Depp.

Quick! Someone make that happen – like now!

The December weather wasn’t very co-operative for Los Angeles (it was rainy!) but Katy Perry pushed on and performed at the 2010 KIIS FM Jingle Ball at the Nokia Theater. Perry arrived wearing a purple dress but ended up popping out of gift box on stage in a snowman dress/costume and performed her hit single “Teenage Dream.”

The 2010 Moet British Independent Film Awards at Old Billingsgate Market in London brought out Carey Mulligan in a striking poppy colored Prabal Gurung apron dress with black peep toe shoes. Mulligan stole the spotlight in her spicy hued dress and beautiful pulled back hair.

The young actress is on fire in more than just her red carpet style. She has landed one of the most sought after parts in Hollywood – she will be Daisy in The Great Gatsby opposite Leonardo DiCaprio.

Bret Michaels rocked the Zappos.com Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas Marathon and Half Marathon finish line on Sunday December 5th. The Rock of Love musician performed for the crowd at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino to benefit the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America.

Former Girls Next Door star Holly Madison is helping Southern Nevada gather up holiday gifts for Lotus Broadcasting’s Second Annual Holly Jolly Toy Drive. The events take place at various locations through the month of December and donations are collected for Toys for Tots. Madison said:

“I’m so excited to be doing the Holly Jolly Christmas Toy Drive again this year,” said Holly. “Last year was so much fun and we collected some great toys for the kids. This is the time of year to reflect on what you have and help out those less fortunate. I hope it’s a successful as it was last year. I want to thank Lotus Broadcasting for doing it with me again this year. I can’t wait to go shopping myself.”

Holly spends time sigining autographs and taking pictures with fans as well. These photos are from one of the stops at a Kia car dealership on December 3rd.

Kellan Lutz is looking for a new love now that he and AnnaLynne McCord have finally called it quits.   And it sounds like he might be done dating other celebrities.  He says he just wants “a normal girl.”

“It’s funny to say that but where I live and what I do it’s hard to find someone who knows who they are…It’s a dog-eat-dog world, Hollywood. I just want someone who can bowl, throw a football, and likes to be athletic.  And really just loves life and is happy and smiles. It’s tough to find someone who can take a time out and just live.”

Throw a football and likes to be athletic?  Kellan, are you sure you’re not trying to date a dude?   Just kidding, there are plenty of girls out there who love playing sports.   I’m pretty sure AnnaLynne is not one of them, so it’s probably a good thing they’re through.  Good luck finding your down-to-earth girl, Kellan!
