Marc Anthony Owes 3.4 Million In Back Taxes

Jennifer Lopez’s husband Marc Anthony is in trouble with tax authorities.

Anthony had a lien placed on a property he owns on Long Island in Nassua County back in March for $1.8 million for unpaid taxes. There was also a $1.6 million dollar lien placed three months earlier against the singer on the same property. His running total was $3.4 million.

Anthony has been in a sticky situation with taxes before. In June 2007, the singer was slapped by the IRS for millions in unpaid money to the government. The problems stemmed from companies he did business with who did not file tax returns properly and Anthony was able to pay $2.5 million to settle up.

So now what happened?

No one is saying why or how Anthony found himself in trouble again for tax issues but E!Online has this:

A rep for Anthony says that his financial and managerial teams have “reached an agreement in principle resolving all of [his] federal tax liabilities…No further comments will be issued about this matter.”

The first time around really doesn’t appear to be Anthony’s doing, but what’s going on that it happened again?

David Fincher’s ’20,000 Leagues’ to be Shot in 3D. Big Surprise.

David Fincher is set to direct Disney‘s remake of the Jules Verne classic 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. He’s busy with another movie right now, but when he does get to shooting 20,000 Leagues it will (of course) be in 3D.

While most of the interview focused on the movie and Fincher’s techniques as a filmmaker, he did learn that Fincher is already planning to shoot his version of Jules Verne’s 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea for Disney using 3D technology.

The great news here for me is just knowing David Fincher will be making the movie! To me it’s crazy that he’s decided to work with Disney, but he’s a fantastic director and I’m hoping this remake will be a modern classic.

‘Tron’ Breaks $100 Million! One Fourth From IMAX!

The mega-sequel Tron Legacy has made $100 million as of yesterday and a quarter of that money was from IMAX theater sales.

Tron: Legacy crossed the $100 million mark at the domestic box office on Tuesday. The movie, budgeted at $170 million, which has been in U.S. theaters for 12 days, has also made around $75 million overseas.

The most interesting note about the domestic number is that almost a quarter of the box office receipts — about $25 million — are from IMAX theaters. Tron is playing in 3,451 theaters across Canada and the U.S., with only 235 of those being IMAX houses. For that low count to generate 25% of the gross is astonishing. And a record proportion for IMAX.

This movie was pretty much pure eye candy and zero story, but it’s raking in that dough. I hope they don’t try to do another sequel, but if they do I pray it’s another 27 years.

Ryan Phillippe Wishes “Nothing But The Best” For Reese Witherspoon

Actor Ryan Phillippe is sending good vibes to his former wife, Reese Witherspoon on her engagement to CAA agent Jim Toth.

Phillippe and Witherspoon divorced in 2008 and have two children together Ava, 11 and Deacon, 7, but the two have found a way to come to terms with the split and Phillippe says

“I’m very happy for both Reese and Jim.”

The Crash star has spoken about his conflicted feelings of their break-up saying there was:

“sadness and complicated feelings about my divorce,” but wondered, “how beneficial is it to keep hanging onto those feelings?”

In the end, the pair are at a great place in their relationship and with their children so Phillippe can say:

“I wish nothing but the best for the mother of my children.”

and mean it.

New ‘I Am Number Four’ Trailer is Way Better

Here’s the new extended trailer for the upcoming movie I Am Number Four.

This trailer makes the movie look much better than the first one. I really enjoyed the director’s last film Disturbia so my hopes are back up for this one being a high quality piece. Still not counting on it, but a bit more hopeful.

Chris Brown Rants On Twitter And Then Apologizes

Chris Brown has a habit of being apologetic after the fact and once again shot himself in the foot.

The singer lost his cool when Raz-B of B2K took a tweet-shot at Brown and Eric Benet. Raz-B posted:

Im just sittin here Thinking how can n****s like @ebenet & @ChrisBrown disrespect women as Intelligent as @HalleBerry11 @Rihanna

Brown’s response was well, terrible to put it mildly:

“N—a you want attention! Grow up n—a!!! Di– in da booty ass lil boy.”

Brown was alluding to sexual molestation allegations that Raz (whose real name is DeMario Thornton) has made (and retracted and made again) against former manager Chris Stokes and band member Marques Houston (get that entire sordid story here.)

The two twitter-volleyed back and forth for a while and both sides were ugly and indeed aggressive, to say the least.

Brown seemed surprised when he started receiving lots of twitter venom spewing his way after the remark which many felt was homophobic.

“I was minding my damn business and Peter pan decides to pop off!!!” Brown wrote. “I’m not mad though!!! I’m just not silent nor am i one of these scary R&B cats!!” In light of the harsh statements, Brown followed up by writing, “I’m not homophobic! He’s just disrespectful!!!”

Then came the apology which he sent to TMZ after website owner Harvey Levin called him out over his behavior. Chris told the site:

“Yesterday was an unfortunate lack in judgment sparked by public Twitter attacks from Raz B, who was bent on getting attention.  Words cannot begin to express how sorry and frustrated I am over what transpired publicly on Twitter.”

Brown goes on, “I have learned over the past few years to not condone or represent acts of violence against anyone.  Molestation and victims of such acts are not to be taken lightly; and for my comments I apologize — from the bottom of my heart.”

Brown wants everyone to believe he has changed but the simple fact is he is unable to manage his anger. To respond to Raz-B (who may or may not have been looking for attention) in such a derogatory way shows that Brown’s temper still gets the best of him.

David Beckham Fighting Back Against Prostitute’s Sex Claim

David Beckham has filed a declaration in his lawsuit against Irma Nici and In Touch Weekly that he never had sex with the prostitute. The soccer star claims that not only has he not committed adultery with Nici, he’s never even met her!

In the $25 million suit, Beckham states the allegations are “unequivocally false” and are completely “fabricated.” Nici told the magazine that Beckham met with her (and occasionally a third party for threesomes) on five separate occasions at Claridge’s Hotel in London.

He said: “I have never met Nici, let alone committed adultery with Nici or paid her for sex.

“Irma Nici’s statements have caused me and my family great anguish and emotional distress, and have adversely affected both my personal and professional life.”

The L.A. Galaxy star is not messing around on this one. The paper work hit the Los Angeles county court system in October but the substance of what Beckham said is just coming out now.

Beckham and his wife, Victoria have been married for 11 years and have 3 kids together.

You gotta wonder what kind of proof does In Touch think it had to print this story – or did they just assume that Beckham would just issue a denial and it would be over?

Lady Gaga Nabs Best Selling Album Of 2010

Lady Gaga is on top of the world with the largest-selling album of 2010.  Worldwide, her album The Fame Monster sold 5.8 million copies.    That’s a lot of Gaga.

Coming in close behind were Eminem‘s Recovery (an AWESOME album – 5.7 million copies), and Justin Bieber‘s My World 2.0 (5.6 million copies).

(Justin BIEBER?  Seriously??  I guess there’s no accounting for the taste of a bunch of hormone-driven tween girls.   But I digress.)

All three are getting plenty of Grammy love this year.  Eminem has a whopping ten nominations, all well deserved in my opinion; here are the most notable:  Album of the Year (Recovery), Record of the Year (ditto) and Song of the Year (‘Love The Way You Lie‘ feat. Rihanna), and TWO bids in the Best Rap Song category (‘Love The Way You Lie’ and ‘Not Afraid’).   Justin Bieber is up for Best New Artist and Best Pop Vocal Album (My World 2.0).  Gaga got six nods, including Best Female Pop Vocal Performance (‘Bad Romance’), Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals (‘Telephone‘ feat. Beyonce), and Best Pop Vocal Album (The Fame Monster).   Get a complete list of the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards nominations here.

John Mellencamp & Elaine Irwin “Call It A Day” And Split

John Mellencamp and wife Elaine Irwin Mellencamp have decided to end their 18 year marriage. The rocker and the model have been together for a total of 20 years and have two chidren.

Their rep said:

“John and Elaine Mellencamp are proud of their 20 years together and are very happy with their accomplishments both as parents and as a family. They will continue to raise their two children in Indiana but have decided to call it a day as a couple.”

Sad to see a couple split after that long, but that is probably one of the best statements ever put out. It sounds so very much like a Mellencamp lyric – call it a day as a couple…

Oh Russell! Katy Perry Minus Her Make-Up Could Mean Trouble For Brand!

Russell Brand posted a photo of his missus, Katy Perry on twitter tonight but the photo has quickly disappeared. The pic he tweeted was of Perry half awake and minus her make-up.

Brand is plum loco for thinking that was a good idea.

I’d like to think he meant it as a cute and endearing peek at his unadorned bride, but perhaps he should have found another way to let the world glimpse the real Katy. You know, a way she would be happy with.

Katy has not mentioned it on her twitter and Russell has deleted the tweet with the image but too many got their hands on it first.
