The Kate Middleton wedding dress guessing game is on.

According to People magazine, the woman who will be Princess Catherine on April 29th, 2011 has chosen who will design her wedding dress. Speculation has been high with oddsmakers taking bets on different British designers, but Middleton is opting not to publicly proclaim her choice.

A palace spokesperson said:

“It’s Miss Middleton’s intention to keep the dress a secret for her bridegroom on their wedding day, as is every bride’s prerogative.”

While she may want to keep who and the actual design under wraps, her mother Carole Middleton and sister Pippa may have inadvertently given away the biggest clue. The two were seen heading to Bruce Oldfield‘s shop in the Knightsbridge area of London recently.

Oldfield had been a favorite of the late Princess Diana and it would be right in line with many things Prince William and Kate have done to honor Diana’s memory, including the ring Kate wears.
