Daunting ‘World Invasion: Battle Los Angeles’ Poster

Here’s the new poster for the upcoming film World Invasion: Battle Los Angeles.

This movie looks pretty gritty, dark and realistic. Imagining the possibility of a real alien invasion is always creepy, but the way this movie was shot gives it a more realistic and personal feel. Hopefully it can live up to expectations.

First ‘X-Men: First Class’ Poster Arrives in Metal

Here’s the very first poster for the upcoming superhero movie X-Men: First Class.

Cool poster, even though it shows absolutely nothing other than the title. I really hope this movie turns out well, the last two X-Men movies left a lot to be desired.

Girls Introduced in New ‘Sucker Punch’ Poster Series

Here’s the new poster series from the upcoming effects movie Sucker Punch.

Cool posters, again though, not making the movie seem any less like an effects parade. Here’s hoping there’s more to it. Look for it March 25th, 2011.

New ‘Scream 4′ Trailer Tries Too Hard to Be Scary

Here’s the newest full length trailer for the new sequel Scream 4.

While the movie has a sense of familiarity, it lacks originality in practically every way possible. To me the trailer tries to make the movie seem original by talking about how unoriginal it is, not a great strategy for the savvy viewer. What do you think? Is it worth watching?

‘Valentine’s Day’ Spin-off ‘New Year’s Eve’ Gets Another Massive Cast

Gary Marshall is directing a semi-spin-off of his previous film Valentine’s Day called New Years Eve. The cast (so far) includes Robert De NiroAshton KutcherMichelle PfeifferHilary SwankAbigail BreslinSofia VergaraJessica BielSarah Jessica ParkerHalle BerryZac EfronLea Michele, Jon Bon Jovi,  Seth Meyers and Til Schweiger.

The movie tells intertwining stories of a group of New Yorkers as they navigate their way through bittersweet drama and romance over the course of New Year’s Eve.

This is a movie that clearly wants to make money above all else, just having a bunch of stars in a movie doesn’t make it good. I wonder what other stars will join the cast for this one, or is that it?

New ‘Spider-Man’ Pictures Catch Him Web Swinging (Images)

Here’s a fresh batch of shots from the set of the new Spider-man movie.

Cool shots! I’m glad to see they are actually have the stunt man to live-action swinging. The less CGI the better, I’m hoping this is a consistent trend with this remake. I’m also hoping the story is a lot more than the standard one we’ve heard 100 times.

Next Year’s ‘Golden Globe Awards’ May Not Happen

The Golden Globe Awards this year managed to stir up a lot of conversation because of the scalding jokes of host Ricky Gervais. Now the show is in danger of not happening next year because of a lawsuit.

In laying out their proposed schedules for handling the case, lawyers for Dick Clark Productions saw it coming to trial Dec. 1. The press association lawyers thought March 5, 2012, was a more realistic trial date.

But neither date, the association’s lawyers pointed out, would allow “sufficient time to take reasonable commercial steps for the production and distribution of the television broadcast of the 69th annual Golden Globes Awards Show.”

Next year’s show, the association lawyers said, is tentatively planned for Jan. 8 or 15. This year’s broadcast was Jan. 16.

I’m sure they will find out a way to amicably make it work, how do you just not hold an award show after 68 years in a row? I guess it’s possible that the show could get cancelled, but it would be kind of sad. What do you think? Could you live without the Globes?

Blu-ray is the new standard, DVD is on its way out and every week they are releasing many films on the relatively new format. Here’s the full list of Blu-ray movies out this week on January 25th, 2011.

This week’s highlight is the new action comedy Red, I’ll be checking that one out this week. Another one that some may be excited about is Saw: The Final Chapter, which I’ll be avoiding like the plague.

‘Jersey Shore’ Season Four Goes To Italy

As if there was any doubt, Jersey Shore was renewed for season 4. The real question is what unsuspecting community would get the cast of guidos and guidettes thrust on them.

MTV has determined Italy shall be plagued by the GTL crew and hopefully the U.S. government can put it’s time to good use and find a way to invalidate their passports so they can’t return.

Here is the official statement:

“The cast is headed to the birthplace of the culture they love and live by,” said Chris Linn, Executive Vice President of Programming and Head of Production for MTV in a statement. “We can’t wait to see what erupts as a result.”

Do Snooki, JWoww, The Situation, Pauly D and the rest speak the language? Unlikely.

Worst. Tourists. Ever.
