Fitness Guru Jack LaLanne Dead At Age 96
Healthy living pioneer Jack LaLanne, host of the long running program The Jack LaLanne Show has died at the ripe old age of 96.
The popular fitness instructor and TV personality who touted exercise, clean eating and living long before it was popular passed away at his home in Morro Bay, California from respiratory failure due to pneumonia.
Elaine LaLanne, his wife of 51 years said:
“I have not only lost my husband and a great American icon, but the best friend and most loving partner anyone could ever hope for,”
LaLanne’s incredibly successful program became nationally broadcast in 1959 and lasted into the 80s. He opened the first modern fitness club back in 1936 and followed with 100 more across the U.S.
