The 17th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards were held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on Sunday January 30th with Hailee Steinfeld hitting the red carpet for the 2011 SAG ceremony.

The True Grit teenager nominated for an Oscar Award next month chose a very cute hot pink, orange and black striped dress from Prada. It was the perfect choice for the bubbly teen.

The 17th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards were held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on Sunday January 30th with Julianna Margulies and her husband Keith Leiberthal hitting the red carpet for the 2011 SAG ceremony.

Margulies opted for a simple yet elegant Yves Saint Laurent red gown with her hair pulled back to show off her Bavna earrings.

The actress took home the prize for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama for her role on The Good Wife.

Hendricks mixed it up with a robe tie front L’Wren Scott number with black sash. I give the Mad Men actress credit for trying something different even if it wasn’t the most flattering choice she could make. Her hairstyle and make up choices also aged her look.

Lawrence wore a very bright pink draped dress from Oscar de la Renta and sashed it with a black velvet belt. The 20 year-old Winter’s Bone actress went home empty handed in the trophy department but debuted her new boyfriend, 21 year-old X-Men: First Class star Nicholas Hoult.

Dreamworks Animation‘s new 3D movie Rise of the Guardians will feature the voices of Hugh Jackman, Chris Pine, Alec Baldwin, Jude Law and Isla Fisher!

DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc. named its all-star cast for Rise of the Guardians, featuring Chris Pine in the lead role of Jack Frost, together with Alec Baldwin, Hugh Jackman, Isla Fisher and Jude Law. The film, scheduled for release on November 21, 2012, is based on “The Guardians of Childhood,” a series of highly anticipated children’s books by William Joyce.

More than a collection of the well-known childhood legends, Rise of the Guardians tells the story of a group of heroes – each with extraordinary abilities. When an evil spirit known as Pitch lays down the gauntlet to take over the world, the immortal Guardians must join forces for the first time to protect the hopes, beliefs and imagination of children all over the world. This epic 3D adventure stars Chris Pine as Jack Frost, Alec Baldwin as North (Santa Claus), Hugh Jackman as Bunnymund (Easter Bunny), Isla Fisher as Tooth (Tooth Fairy) and Jude Law as Pitch (The Boogeyman).

Fantasy is in full swing nowadays. It seems like more and more movies take on superheroes, magic and the supernatural in the last few years. I think it’s because of the sagging economy, but thats a whole other subject. This movie could be really cool if it’s done right.

Peter Jackson was hospitalized on Thursday, delaying The Hobbit shoot for a few more days.

Director Peter Jackson was admitted to hospital yesterday, where he underwent emergency surgery for a perforated ulcer. The condition is caused when an ulcer burns completely through the stomach wall, allowing food and acid to pass into the abdominal cavity causing extreme pain and extreme risk of infection. Thankfully the surgery went well and Jackson is expected to make a full and quick recovery.

Making movies is clearly stressful for Peter Jackson! I would hate to have to go through that, but if I guess if I were just weeks away from directing one of the most highly anticipated movies ever, I’d be a little stressed too. I’m glad the delay in shooting will be minimal, this movie is beyond overdue. Hopefully his recovery will be quick as filming begins.
